LIEL ABADA is about sign a bumper new deal at Celtic – TEN months after his original offer from the champions.
The Israeli international winger was presented with enhanced terms at the same time as striker Giorgos Giakoumakis on November 1 last year, as CQN reported.
Both Abada and the hitman stalled on accepting the contracts and the outcome saw the Greek powerhouse leave the club in February for MLS outfit Atlanta United.
SIGNS ARE GOOD…Liel Abada is about to agree a Celtic extension.
The 21-year-old flanker remained at the Hoops, despite being linked with moves to Ajax, Benfica, Sporting Lisbon and Southampton among their admirers.
Now the guessing game is about to come to an end with Abada, who joined in a £3.5million switch from Maccabi Petah Tikva in July 2021, poised to sign an extended deal which will keep him at Parkhead until at least 2027, according to a report in the Daily Record.
Over the past month or so, captain Callum McGregor, Japanese international duo Kyogo Furuhashi and Daizen Maeda and former Scotland Under-21 skipper Stephen Welsh have all committed their futures to last season’s treble winners.
