SOLO CELTS IN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

CELTIC will carry the banner for Scotland as the country’s only representatives in the Champions League.

The Hoops will be on a solo mission after Michael Beale’s Ibrox side were thrashed 5-1 by PSV Eindhoven with the Dutch taking their place in this evening’s all-star draw on a 7-3 aggregate scoreline.

The Parkhead club now stand to rake in an additional £2.5million in television revenue following the dismissal of their city rivals.

Brendan Rodgers’ team will be placed in pot four with all 32 teams now confirmed to go into the ballot which is scheduled for a 4.45pm start in Monaco.

They are as follows:

POT 1

Manchester City Sevilla, Barcelona, Napoli, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Benfica, Feyenoord.

POT 2

Real Madrid, Manchester United, Inter Milan, Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid, RB Leipzig, Porto, Arsenal.

POT 3

Shakhtar Donetsk, FC Salzburg, AC Milan, SC Braga, PSV Eindhoven, Lazio, Red Star Belgrade, FC Copenhagen.

POT 4

CELTIC, Young Boys, Real Sociedad, Galatasaray, Newcastle United, Union Berlin, Antwerp, Lens.

The draw will be streamed live on UEFA.com and broadcast live on subscription TV channel TNT Sports 1 (Sky channel 410, Virgin channel 527) with coverage starting from 4.45pm.

The first round of the group stages is scheduled for the midweek of September 19/20.
