Abada’s potential

284

Don’t take this to heart too soon, but Liel Abada has the potential to eclipse anyone else currently in the Celtic squad.  The natural instinct he has demonstrated inside the box since he arrived as a teenager two years ago, is gold dust.

The Great Swede was 26 when he came to Glasgow, having spent most of his days on the wing.  At Leil’s age, he was also waif-like and was far from capable of being the focus of an elite attack.  Wim Jansen knew what was hidden from others and together they rewrote history.

I could not be more delighted our Israeli Star is secured until 2027.

“You don’t call your boss a richardhead every time he’s been a richardhead

Obviously what BR was promised when he signed up and what has been delivered is very much different”

    ——————————

If, indeed, it is obvious, BR has a reason to complain and he can do so without calling his boss a dickhead. If you were recruited on the promise or guarantee of a top of the range car, a private secretary and an expenses budget of 50k, you could claim breach of contract if they gave you a bike, a license for Microsoft Word and £100 expenses.

But he doesn’t. He makes “side of the mouth” CYA comments and then he tries to sound positive, convincing no-one in the stands. He is in a powerful position- why not speak more clearly without relying on interpreters?

  2. Cowan and his mate scorning Allan Stubbs claiming the Mib told him he would not give Celtic a penalty against the deid team. I’ll persevere listening to their nonsense to see how far they will go. Do they really believe their nonsense or are they sucking up to Govan?

Great post re trying to fathom what Brendan is all about.

His behaviour and ambiguity is not galvanising the club / fans and I would venture to suggest it can’t be good for the players at the club.

His half hearted nonsense about showing a team of treble winners how to win is another weird one but at least it could be seen to have a positive ring to it.

  5. Good spot big wavy – hopefully they’re ‘saving him’ for a 70 minute stint at the home of ‘we’ve already won the EL’.

  6. Really looking forward to visiting the Tub in Rotterdam for the first time. It is good to be going to new places.

Likewise the Wanda in Madrid. As chalk and cheese from the Tub but rapidly becoming a really acclaimed venue in its own right.

For me I doubt we will break my away duck in Europe in either of these games but I will go more in hope.

The run of fixtures suggests a draw in Holland and a win v Lazio really would give us better than a punchers chance of qualifying. Even beating Lazio would do that.

Lazio on tonight at napoli, Athletico tomorrow tea time and Feyenoord tomorrow morning v Utrecht.

  7. I do not know or claim to be able to analyse Brendan Rodgers from his interviews.

What I do know is that he has been very unbrendon like which is a bit concerning.

A reasonable point, reasonably made, as usual. I agree with a caveat. This time round Brendan is not Brendan MK1.

He has nothing to prove, his past record at Celtic Park speaks for itself. He may be less bubbly, perhaps a bit more cynical, but there is no questioning his commitment, in my opinion. He said “ I’m not here for the league, I’m here for the club”

I see a young vibrant squad developing throughout the season. The Ibrox team will be dogged and a hard nut to crack, but I’m sure we will win the title this season, a season where domestic cups don’t really matter.

I don’t expect a win tomorrow, I sure the vast majority of our support don’t either, but it’s very early days.

Brendan, his backroom and the boardroom are all in this together, of that I am sure, and all the ‘noises off’ are merely ‘tittle tattle’ from a minuscule number of conceited social media devotees with nothing better to do.

Ajeti is still in talks with a Turkish club. Deal should go through next

    Thanks Tom
