  1. @Celtic line up v Sheep ……

Hart, Ralston, Starfelt, Carter-Vickers, Montgomery, McGregor, Bitton, Turnbull, Abada, Kyogo, Jota

Subs: Bain, Scales, Welsh, McCarthy, Rogic, Ajeti, Giakoumakis

  2. Inverted Fullback Nonsense

Bizarre to play Livingston never mind Leverkusen with two exposed Centre Backs. In the photo @huddleboard we see the second goal from Thursday, almost inevitable as soon as AR facing the ball in the centre circle, loses possession. Blaming a system failure on individuals won’t cut the mustard.

Quite fancy Celtic today ( as the vultures gather on CQN? ) to give Aberdeen a John Barnes type first visit, battering. The likeable manager has to shuffle his pack as he’s on a winger and a prayer, as usual if he persists on CCV and Starfelt to man the Celtic sieve. Celtic whirlwinded Betis but should we strike early, it will kill off most SPL sides.

Leil Abada always a goal threat has to develop his game if he’s to keep a fit again James Forrest or a fit again Mikey Johnston out of the side in the coming weeks. Kyogo needs coached in how to turn his pace into more thoughtful finishing, I think he’ll come good again starting today. The key in midfield must be MacGregor, some vintage nemisis Rogic might help, Celtic and three points?

  3. I might be one of the few but I am happy to see Bitton in the team.

Pretty windy here, 50 miles south of Aberdeen but that shouldn`t really affect our quick passing game.

I am hoping for a decent victory which will start us on a run of success.

Exitement building now, do I have a jug of Chianti, a Merlot, a

    Cheeky wee Cabernet.

Or just the usual stuff out the cardboard box?

    Think I’ll open the box🥳

I agree but usually as a defender.

Who knows, this may suit his playing style better.

  8. Couple of quick points……away from home at a tough venue…..one winger please ……….last night’s nonsense….frimpong booed because he’s black….utter pish……king Kenny must be checking yhe colour of his skin this morning!!!!…..worst booing ever !!!

  9. Bitton usually commits his faux pas/passes when trying to be a centre-back. Mid suits him better.

Given the Dons’ robust approach I’m happy we’re one sand-dancer (copyright another poster) down and more a defensive grafter in.

WTF has Boli done to not even merit a place on the pine? Still think he’s our best LB/inverter and one that we need to shop window for onward sale.

Watch Broony prove the point he’s over us; hopefully not proven on Jota or Kyogo tho.

  10. There is something far wrong at our club , when Bitton is a starting for our team.

Where is Shaw. Wait a minute, he’s another project. Might come good in a couple of years.

Club is a shambles from top to bottom.

  11. Celtic.

    Just win.

    Ugy will do.

    1-2 The Hoops.

DanDan – Heartbreaking note from previous and thoughts with you and family today and always. Real perspective stuff.

  12. Tom McLaughlin on

Nir Bitton started his Celtic career as a midfielder. He might surprise a few football managers on here.

I’m going for an exciting 3-2 victory to the Celtic.

    Hail Hail

PS. What’s the chances the huns object to the proposed introduction of VAR next week?

  13. St Tams,

I can only assume Ange doesn’t fancy Shaw. A signing of the opportunistic sort favoured by our old CEO. We have too many of these, misaligned with Ange’s philosophy, that it would break your heart.

  14. TheLurkinTim: No firm date has been set for Garry’s funeral but Oct 15th is the current plan. This will be confirmed by the family soon.

A memorial service is also planned for November 28th, the day of the home game v Aberdeen. Again, this will be confirmed in due course.

Dandan: thoughts with you today. Lovely post on previous blog.

will give him the benefit of the doubt until after the match.

  16. Tom,

Releasing Callum further forward will hopefully mean many benefits. Nir is fitba player alright and, as you say, came to Celtic as a midfielder.

I hope our very exciting front 3 are on it again. Jota – Wow this guy is Sensational from what I’ve seen so far.

After all these years Bitton back in midfield. I hope that means CalMac pushes forward and Bitton takes on the sitting role. He’s got a good pass in him and can tackle. His problem is lapses in concentration. Given our limited options it’s the right change. Hopefully!

I did say that he is rarely played in this position and that may benefit both him and us.

    100% see how he does.

SKY Sports playing George Michael’s ‘You Gotta Have Faith’ in lead up to Jota interview. Then at end of interview he asks him about his resemblance to GM.

    PS. Who’s George Michael?

    PPS. Only kidding Ernie.
