AJAX coach Frank de Boer is to hold talks with Celtic target Mitchell Dijks – just ONE YEAR after selling him to Willem II.
Ronny Deila is chasing the 22-year-old left-back for the Hoops and has been joined by Feyenoord, AZ Alkmaar and Bundesliga outfit Hertha Berlin.
But De Boer, impressed by Dijks’ perfomances throughout the season, has now made his move for the defender who was developed in the Ajax youth ranks.
The Amsterdam giants also negotiated a 50 per cent sell-on clause when they sold Dijks to Willem II which means they only need to meet half the asking price of £1million.
Dijks is insisting he will not be rushed into a decision, but the lure of his former club may prove irresistible and thwart Deila’s hopes as adding cover for Emilio Izaguirre to his first team squad. Think he can be filed under highly unlikely at the moment.
