    Have to say I feared the worst when Effie came on, especially after his first touch. However he was a colossus in the last ten minutes. Well done Celtic , pride has been restored.

    I feel sorry for the people who’s greatest pleasure this evening is asking those of us who’ve been critical these last few weeks how unhappy it makes us to see this performance tonight.

    Pretty damned fecking good. As they should know.

    Very happy with the result but i have to say (and I’ve been consistent this past few weeks) – i think Ronny naivety cost us 3 points. Here’s why – Izzy on a red and lunging! any inexperienced manager , manager wannabe would have taken him off for the situation and RISK alone. Secondly on the same point , Izzy has history of losing composure when up against it with silly decision making. I’m angry at Izzy (bcoz he was having a decent game until then) but even more frustrated at RD for not hooking him!

     

     

    Commons stayed on the pitch way too long – Clearly lustig needed help on the right and surely we could have out Janko on to assist and double up – all their attacks came from their left side. Janko brings defensive and attacking qualities. Commons was a passenger.

     

     

    Finally , Cifti for me everyday of the week in that format. Griff did well but he is not going to hold the ball up for our midfield.

     

     

    Johanssen is fighting hard but is totally off form at the moment.

     

     

    Overall very happy with 2-2 but we should be sitting on top with 3 with managerial decisions – this is a worry.

    Unlucky at 2nd goal, hard to defend against a great ball in..

     

    Can’t fault Izzy either. 2 fouls yes, 2 yellows, not in my opinion.

     

    He played well & should be our 1st pick for LB. Always gives 100% & maybe some others should try & match his commitment.

     

    Almost same team for Sunday pls, but swop Jo Hansen for SA (either one) if fit.

    Would have taken my he draw before the game and for a team that is seriously lacking in confidence hopefully that result will let them kick on.

     

    However the questions against RD remain.

     

    Another winning position not converted. Everyone could see that Izzy was going to pick up another booking and so should have been removed by us rather than the ref!

     

    KC should have been subbed at least 10 minutes before he was. The first Ajax goal highlighted yet again the lack of a proper defensive midfielder as Bitton was once again caught on the wrong side of his man. Time will tell if it’s a point gained or two lost.

     

    JS did well on his debut and kept things simple.

     

    Tonight we carried a bit of luck as on other night the one that hit the post or the free header the boy had would have gone in.

     

    LG should have scored from KC great through ball.

     

    Onwards and upwards!

    Well done the Bhoys. Izzy was naive and ruined our chances of keeping the lead. Good ball into the box for their second goal but Gordon has to do better.

    also , why not play forrest on his favoured right side – would also have provided the protection and unfit lustig clearly needed . worried about our management team but desperately want them to succeed !

    People should remember that this stage of the Europa league often throws up strange results –

     

     

    Molde being case in point but also Villareal lost to Rapid Vienna and Sion beat Rubin Kazan.

     

     

    Ajax like Celtic are a name in Europe but not much more at this time.

     

     

    We have a long way to go and are nowhere near a finished article but that result is incredibly heartening but it proves what the moaners like me keep saying – Commons= goals.

     

     

    He made 2 and yet the manager keeps dropping him.

     

     

    Play Commons and we get chances and goals.

     

     

    Drop him and we struggle for creativity.

     

     

    If Deila keeps leaving him out ……………………………

    Apart from the Europa League, tonight’s performance will do wonders for Jozo and Boyata. I have doubts about Blackett but with Izzy out for next game, maybe we should start him in domestic games & see what he has.

    Ronny had the option of replacing IZZY with the bizarre signing that is Blackett. Izzy is to blame. Nobody else.

     

     

    Ajax are oddly still revered on here. They are average in Europe. We will take them in Paradise.

    I’m a Commons fan.

     

     

    He is our best player and we are a different proposition with him in the team.

     

     

    That ball he played in for Griff when he volleyed wide – only he can do that for us.

    Just got off a plane and seen the result.

     

     

    I’m happy with that. Baby steps at this stage. New unsettled defence, which unsettles Craig, and if they are unsettled, the rest of the team is as well.

     

     

    2-2 in the ArenA is never a bad result.

Thought we dug out an excellent result ,thought Izzie shud have been hooked after being lucky not to be red carded about 3 mins b4 getting,that Ccommons should have been subbed a wee wee bit earlier but over the moon about the end result.Would have taken that result anytime.COYBIG

    Feel sorry for the whingers who are now at a loss struggling with their Ronny out, oh wait mebbe not routine, same as last year!

     

     

    We drew against one of the biggest clubs in Europe away from home. Fact.

     

     

    Unsurprisingly the blog overflowing with positive comments from true Celtic bhoys rather than the usual suspects who will just have to settle for complaining about who got kicked off the bake-off last night!

     

     

    Delighted for Ronny and his much maligned players

    We are entitled to have our say just as much as you! As for the game great result but wonder how many like me was waiting for the goals to be conceded. Deila is a long way from convincing me he is the man for Celtic.

    It’s the strangeness of referees, a worse challenge the other night broke the young Man U players leg in two places and wasn’t even deemed a foul.

    Absolute stupidity from Izzy, you cannot go to ground at that level when you have been booked. Gordon should have done much better with the second goal but defence was a bit too deep.

    The only question against Ronny is constructively manufactured by the meeja, as they have done against EVERY Celtic Manager I can remember…..my only disappointment is that, NOWADAYS, so many Celtic Supporters are ‘taken in’ by it all ….. In my hay day, we all knew the score with the Scottish meeja and vehemently resisted every bit of shoite they spouted about THE FAMOUS GLASGOW CELTIC ….. WE NEED TO GET BACK TO ENCOURAGING OUR TEAM AND IGNORING THE BIGOTED SCOTTISH MEEJA ……HH

    Can’t be critical after a good result away from home. We have been bested by much worse sides over the years.

     

     

    Well set up, and considering the new defensive partnership we looked secure.

     

     

    Easy now to say Ronny should have hooked Izzy but it was the player who let us down. It would have been a big call to throw Blackett on.

     

     

    If only we had some physical presence in the front 4. Johansen looks a shadow of himself and Griff isn’t effective in these games.

    My friends in. Celtic,

     

     

    I like. Kris Commons. He has brains, composure, skill and craft that is unique to our current squad of players.

     

     

    However he does not have an abundance of speed or energy to last 90 minutes. Imo he also cannot play every game if we want to see him at his best.

     

     

    His best usage is as an impact player. That can be at the start of the game or the end to the game, but not both.

     

     

    It’s all about horses for courses.

    Very proud of our team tonight. Kris and Nir were excellent. So glad that Efe shut up the negatonians in my local. Big man was magic after his first bad bit of play when he came on. Liked the first look of our new central defence pairing. Canny wait till Sunday 3pm now.

    Blog has went from the ridiculous to the ridiculous all within a week.

     

     

    From us being rank rotten against Aberdeen to a brilliant team performance against an Ajax side who are at best average.

     

     

    A decent result but that is it. Loads of work still needing done which I am sure RD knows but let’s get a bit of perspective on things. Defence still worries me and Izzy needs strong coaching on when to commit and how to be sure, too naieve

     

     

    Still not playing as a team, we have separate compartments working but not gelling, again something that can be worked on. But don’t give us that tonight was a great performance because it wasn’t, it was a decent result against a poorAjax team.
