“I feel sorry for the people who’s greatest pleasure this evening is asking those of us who’ve been critical these last few weeks how unhappy it makes us to see this performance tonight.
How does it make me feel?
Pretty damned fecking good. As they should know.”
I wish it was an emotion widely shared, James, but if you can read around you on CQN tonight you will see a sizeable group that, if they are feeling good, are doing a pretty damn good job of hiding it as they pick scapegoats left, right and centre, in post after post, before the thought enters the head of adding a wee- “Well done Celtic!”
At no time in our history would getting a result against Ajax not be regarded as anything other than a great achievement. Yet tonight, even after such a rewarding result we have :-
Posters picking out the failures
Posters diminishing Ajax- with Fox & Grapes type reasoning
Posters predicting future failures on the night where we got a very creditable Euro result.
Anhedonia is rife and it is not all coming from hunterlopers.
And I’m not pleading guilty to a censorship or Polyanna charge. There was plenty wrong with our result tonight but, overall it was a great start. I think some on here could not take joy in Lisbon 67 without digging up that dick Craig or rejoice in 10 men won the league without destroying Johnny Doyle.
I was at the match recently where Tyler Blackett was introduced to the crowd at half time – and this was before we saw him play- Anyway, he had been on the pitch speaking for less than 5 seconds, struggling to speak into the mike- when the cry came out from a Celtic fan near me- “Speak up ya dick!”
Some welcome to Celtic, eh?

It’s easy for us here who are not accountable for the concequences of a full scale blackout of MSM but I think it must be really tempting not to call the current disgrace for what it is.
Radio Scotland was a disgrace tonight as it is most weeks with their anti Celtic bias. I don’t think anyone seriously bothers about the desperate newspaper hacks rantigs these days so my sense would be now is the time for our club to take a stand. Without Celtic these guys are nothing. Their relative contribution to our pot vs the the contribution to wider Scottish football is tiny.
They’ve been pumping teams left, right and centre in the league.

A fans’ group has criticised Manchester United’s decision to pay majority shareholders the Glazers £16m a year.
Shareholders will receive 0.045 cents (£0.03) per share each quarter, the first dividend since United floated on the US Stock Exchange in 2012.
The Glazer family, which owns 83% of United shares, will receive $24.5m (£15.79m) annually.
“This is rubbing salt into the wound,” said Manchester United Supporters’ Trust vice-chairman Sean Bones.

Posters being critical of certain aspects of our play & decisions from the bench should not always be seen as being negative.
Wanting to improve areas will likely bring better results while turning a blind eye to glaring deficiencies will only have the opposite effect. Of course a draw away to Ajax is a terrific achievement but this should go without saying. Although many Celtic supporters are both relieved & delighted in equal measures at tonight’s result. Hopefully we will now build on this & make the necessary adjustments so we can enjoy more nights like this.

No negative criticism is valid tonight.
Results like that will bring a lot of confidence to everyone at the club.
Personally, I was panicking after Saturday and it was great to see the Tic fight and scrap for a well earned point against one of the world’s great football clubs .
Confidence can only grow from the point, hopefully our next two games will set us up for the Hearts tie, then it’s the Turks.
So pleased at tonight’s rexult it shines a different light on the build up of a nice progression (in difficulty) of fixtures.

Man Utd fans’ group criticises £16m Glazer family dividend
By Simon Stone
BBC Sport
A fans’ group has criticised Manchester United’s decision to pay majority shareholders the Glazers £16m a year.
Shareholders will receive 0.045 cents (£0.03) per share each quarter, the first dividend since United floated on the US Stock Exchange in 2012.
The Glazer family, which owns 83% of United shares, will receive $24.5m (£15.79m) annually.
“This is rubbing salt into the wound,” said Manchester United Supporters’ Trust vice-chairman Sean Bones.
“Profits from the club should go back into it.”
A United spokesman said the Glazers were committed to investing in the team and that the dividend underlined the club’s strong financial position.
United estimate they will save $10m annually in interest payments following a refinancing of their debts this year.
The announcement came on the same day United said they were considering selling a further 24 million “Class A” shares.
‘The Glazers have cost us £1bn’
In total, there are about 164 million shares in United.
Around 83% are Class B shares, which are owned by the Glazer family, while the remainder are Class A shares.
“The Glazer family have already cost us £1bn in interest payments,” said Bones.
“They are sitting on an asset worth £2bn, which still has debts of over £400m, yet are now milking it for even more. How greedy can you get?”
Well done to management team tonight a solid performance that with a bit of luck could have yielded a good away win

It would be useful if the CEO of the company took the trouble to meet representatives of those shareholders/supporters. Like on Tuesday for example.
