Limited opposition — no wonder they never made it to the CL proper.
Absolutely shocking referee.
Great point — won the hard way.
Finally a couple of words on JF — puppy fat.
Shameful that a 25 year old professional footballer can be so out of shape.
There are front row egg chasers who have a better BMI than that imposter.
There is great player in there somewhere — however he is getting harder and harder to find.

He posted that when he reads overly negative posts, despite his possible support of them, that he feels the need to counteract that with something positive.
Likewise, when he witnesses the overly positive he thinks he should balance things up with some perspective.

Manager’s pride as 10-man Celts draw with Ajax
By: Mark Henderson in Amsterdam on 17 Sep, 2015 22:00
RONNY Deila was proud of his players after they deservedly collected a valuable point away to Ajax, despite finishing the match with 10 men, to get their UEFA Europa League group campaign off to a positive start.
Celtic stunned the home crowd in the Amsterdam ArenA by grabbing an early lead through the excellent Nir Bitton, but a well-worked goal from Viktor Fischer levelled the game.
Mikael Lustig restored the Hoops’ advantage before the break, heading home Kris Commons’ corner at the far post.
And, defending resolutely and looking menacing on the counter-attack, the visitors looked to be in control of the contest, and indeed, the more likely side to score as the game entered its closing stages.
But when Emilio Izaguirre harshly received a second yellow card to reduce the Scottish champions to 10 men, they were up against it for the remainder of the match.
As the pressure mounted on the Bhoys, substitute Lasse Schone equalised for the Dutch side with six minutes as his free-kick evaded everyone and nestled in the far corner.
Celtic held firm, however, to get the share of the spoils that their efforts thoroughly merited, a welcome confidence-booster after Saturday’s league defeat to Aberdeen.
Speaking after the match, the manager said: “When we were 11 v 11, we had very good control of the game. We played well, we created chances and defended as a team. We had great attitude and I’m very proud of the boys.
“When we went down to 10 men, we had difficulties. They put a lot more crosses into the box and we had to deal with that, so in the end, if you see the whole game, a draw is ok and it’s a very important point as it’s always difficult to get points away from home.
“We had very control and their first goal was great play and it’s hard to stop that. Sometimes you have to give the opposition credit.
“But in the second half we controlled it and had created some chances as well, including one for Leigh at the back post and we were dangerous as set-plays. We were in control of the game but when we went down to 10 men, we had trouble.
“For me, it was attitude, discipline, organisation – and the boys showed me tonight that they really want to fight. We have got one point away in Amsterdam and that’s something that can be important in the group.
“Everybody knows we can play good football but tonight we needed a performance and some confidence. If you can back that up with points then it makes it much easier. We got a point and we could have had three and we got a good performance and that gives the boys a lot of energy and confidence.”
Asked whether he had considered withdrawing Izaguirre from proceedings after the Honduran has picked up his first booking, the Hoops boss added: “It was very difficult. He had very good control of El Ghazi. He didn’t do anything in the first half apart from getting caught inside once.
“It was very difficult decision to take off as we had cramps and some of the players hadn’t played so much and needed to come off so it was a difficult situation. I couldn’t understand why he got his first yellow card.”

Just at the end of a cool bottle of white – things seem clearer now
2-2 in Amsterdam is acceptable
Before the game I was critical of Ronny – I thought he was too attack minded and we would be left exposed
But he got it right – we were unlucky not to win
But as I now open the second bottle – the one question that wont go away is:
And I have struggled with it since he got here – is Ronny the man ???
I want to believe he is – I hang onto any piece of positivity (like tonight) and I tell myself it is all coming together and Ronny will have us playing “pure beautiful football”
But the reality is, I don’t understand him or his thinking – maybe – just maybe this is what makes him a genius
Ah well – lets not overthink it – more wine please and well done Celtic good result tonight

It wasn’t a dig at you, just making a point.
the glorious balance sheet on
16 players have been signed by Celtic since Ronny became manager.
Only 2 of those – jozo and boyata – started tonight’s game. Of the others I can only see Armstrong being a first team regular at Celtic come this time next year.
Come January and next summer we need to sign players who are an immediate improvement on what we have and are ready for the first team. We can’t keep spending money on transfer fees and wages for non-contributing projects.
Strange that considering we were playing an in form team away from home.
Not so much disappointed at the draw but disappointed at
1. Once again losing a goal to Stoned Marking (aka zonal marking). Not that I think zonal marking is the Devil incarnate. Just that it appears we as a team are incapable of learning how to zonal mark.
2. Why was Izzie afforded enough time on field to be red carded. He had two challenges after booking before being sent off that could have been deemed worthy of second yellow. 1 is acceptable and he would have been unfortunate to receive 2nd yellow. 2 was just stupid after pushing it with 1. But 3. Surely Ronny must have seen that coming as I did after his first second book able challenge.
All that said. Ajax are as bad as us if not worse defensively. I am confident we will qualify from this group.
