Appellate body CEO taking sides

826

So the chief executive of the appellate body awaiting a decision to appeal says, “It’s crucial with league reconstruction being such an important issue for the game that we now draw a line under what’s happened”.

According to the SPL Commission the president of that same appellate body was one of the “directors of Oldco [which]must bear a heavy responsibility” for what happened.

Responsibility, however, is an unnecessary concept for the chief executive of the appellate body, who told the media “It’s not about trying to find scapegoats to take responsibility for what’s happened in the last 12 months.”

Note use of language, those responsible are now “scapegoats”.

Scapegoat, def: A person or group made to bear the blame for others or to suffer in their place.

Let’s not look for scapegoats.  Instead let’s stick to who Lord Nimmo Smith’s Commision blame, “the directors of Oldco”.  Including the appellate body’s president.

The appellate body is unfit as an appellate body and as a football association.  SPL clubs must look for a new playing environment.  Let the SFA and SFL run the grassroots game. They appear to want this anyway and I am sure SPL clubs will flourish when no longer restricted to opposition from Scotland.

Doc, it is painful – but I will not return to the SFA Home – young Cowieghirl does go.

I thought one of the best suggestions is a full boycott of the semi – and we all watch at Paradise – in our own seats by the way

Read the first paragraph of your reply to Jude 2005. You seemed to be suggesting that O’ Brien’s conduct wasn’t anything worth resigning over.

    It most certainly was.

I said it wasn’t a matter over which he should have felt obliged to leave the priesthood (which was Jude2005’s suggestion). A different question altogether.

Is that linesman blind? First he gives offside when it’s clearly on. Then he doesn’t see the ball way over the line. Right up with play both times too…..

How much did you laugh at Sevco boycotting Dundee Utd?

Unless 100% compliance they are open to MSM manipulation.

On those grounds I doubt a boycott would be affective.

I know I’m a bit of a happy clapper, but I do trust the board to the right thing.

They have been questioned constantly(that’s a good thing) but I think they have stepped up every time. I stand to be corrected on that.

They need the chairmen of other clubs to stand with them, this fight is for the SPL to collectively take forward.

It’s the SFA I don’t trust not Celtics Board.

    So we agree on that.

  14. Doc – MSM are part of the war, with one of the largest divisions for that mob.

Ignore them, and stick to new media – CQN

PS – I do agree with your comments, but , they (SFA) will never get any of my money

  15. iPaddy McCourt

The cardinal did the right thing. He was ready to retire. I don’t know why his accusers decided this was the moment to take him to task in public for what happened in the 1980s and don’t know what that was. I know he is not accused of having broken the law. He has acknowledged that he has fallen short of what his people and priests expected of him and has accepted the Vatican’s decision that he should retire now rather than in a few months’ time. This is one question.

The issue Jude2005 raised in parallel was that the cardinal should have left the priesthood. I said, and repeat, that from what we know there is no reason whatsoever to draw that conclusion. It’s an entirely separate question.
