ARMSTRONG’S EURO AIM

STUART ARMSTRONG reckons big-time football at Celtic and the lure of European football will make him a better player.

The smooth midfield operator is relishing the prospect as the Hoops prepare to face Inter Milan in the Europa League first leg on February 19 at Parkhead.

Armstrong, 22, said: “Obviously, it will be a great occasion for the club.

“European competitions are fantastic and I’m really looking forward to that.

”Training with better players every day and against quality European opposition will only improve myself and my education in the game.

”I just can’t wait to get started.”

Armstrong’s first appearance will be delayed, though.

He will have to watch his new club from the Dens Park stand when they take on Paul Hartley’s Dundee in the Scottish Cup Fifth Round encounter on Saturday.

The player is Cup-tied after turning out for Dundee United earlier in the competition.

It looks as though he will have to wait another four days before taking his bow in the SPFL game against Partick Thistle at Firhill on Wednesday, February 11.
