A club formed by the Irish immigrant population sends best wishes to Scotland and Ireland. Read all about it! It’s as though our heritage still has the power to shock. How timely the outrage came hours before Celtic launched their “We are Celtic – and we say No To Racism” initiative. This morning Scott Brown reminded us, “Celtic has been a club open to all people since its formation in 1888”. Stick to task, Celtic.
Congratulations to our former boss, Martin O’Neill, in getting the Irish to at least the knock-out round. Commiserations to our other former boss, Gordon Strachan. Gordon will be feeling sore right now but he should lick his wounds and stick to task. He got the better of Ireland on their head-to-head and came within a whisker of also getting the better of Poland. The loss in Georgia was typical Scotland – you cannot change everything in two years, while Ireland taking four points from six off Germany is inexplicable.
Gordon is by far the best man to take Scotland the World Cup 2018 qualifiers; get on with it.

Play offs for Ireland,,,COYBIG
I’m assuming the Irish players that have been picking up cheap yellows and now “miss the next game”, that’s the play off they’re going to miss? Way to make it harder for yourselves.

Where the feck was I complaining.Only pointed out you had joined the clique. You started going on about charity, stag do’s and LMS.
Well done Scotland , 6-0 aint too bad.
, Cmon ROI and MON in the Playoffs…
Need a Celtic game, I’ve got withdrawal symptoms.

Well done Poland, they were the better team. Hope we don’t get France in the play-offs:-)
Roy at 9.44, me too.
My blood pressure is too low at the moment, need to watch us to raise my blood pressure, lol

You say your not complaint I say it’s not a clique, the blog is all about opinions
Bedtime for me, MON is an odds on certainty to get through the play offs, more of a man manager than ever a tactician
Take care and definitely this time good night fellow Celric fans
Delighted for Poland. Fearful for Ireland in the play offs. Thought young Coleman and Hendrick of Derby were excellent tonight.
Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas
A great day of sport today but it’s not the same, need the Hoops.
You take care.

Pity we only discovered each other when you were leaving. We will have a good blether in the near future I’m sure. Great to meet you bro.
Jungle Jim Hot Smoked……………….I’m no expert on rugby but the pundits said this was a talented and extremely well prepared French outfit coming from a country of 70 million prople.

The only downside of yesterday is the fact that too many CQN folk turn up. There is not enough time to have a good chat wi everyone. Hey Ho! Here we go! Great day. Ramones was my highlight. :)
I see Homeland is back on!!!
I see Jude is back on.
Hope you are well pal.
Delaneys Dunky
too true mate. Great meeting new faces and really good to catch up with so many. Did my heart good.
Was a bit hoarse today as Nicky Bhoy was on good form.

The bhoy Nicky’s howff has been my post match venue for many years now. He is on our music wavelength for sure. My two sons love his tunes too. Coolest DJ in Glasgow! :)
Good Evening Bhoys and Ghirls
Has BMCUWP or Cosy Corner Bhoy surfaced yet? :-)
Yesterday a cliquey bunch of electronic pen pals from many backgrounds got together for a couple of beers and raised a staggering £511 in the name of Celticquicknews for Wee Shay in exchange for a couple of CQN badges and cufflinks. Put that with all the previous sales to date from CQN Corner over the last couple of weeks and via email to far flung parts of this and other countries means that in total so far, we have raised a total of £1167. After paying for the badges and cufflinks we are now in profit to the tune of £563, which will be forwarded to the family towards Shay’s treatment.
Every future badge or cufflink sale will also go towards this treatment and the good news is that we still have some left if you still have to get yours
A big thank you to one and all and also to the CQN salesmen extraordinaire, Bundoran Bhoy and Doc.

Goodnight Bhoys
Roy, I know what you mean , the emotional attachment with the hoops can’t be matched watching other teams.
I hope Leigh’s injury clears up by the time we play the mothers.
Its amazing how Fletcher is Scotland’s top scorer in the euro qualifiers , six of them against Gibraltar .
Caley fan , Matt Lindsey, on twitter last week, Leigh is alright scoring against, Dundee, Hamilton and Killie, and Fletcher should play ahead of Leigh. Of Fletcher’s twenty plus caps, he has eight goals, six of which have been against Gibraltar. Not a particularly good record.
I found it coincidental Lindsey used Dundee and Hamilton in his tweet, if you know what I mean. He talks up Sevco a hell of a lot for being a Caley fan.

It is up to us to lighten the place up.
Hail Hail
Delaney’s, when McChuills way out west was open, the old Murphy’s Barrelhouse, we were in it prior tp the Pogues playing one of the wee halls at Secc.
We didn’t want to leave as his tunes were mega, nearly every Pogues track was played along with a number of Clash, Dexys and Northern Soul .
A crowd of us were in McChuills the Friday after Naka’s free kick against Man who. We were going to see Paul Weller at Barras. His play list was brilliant , plenty of Jam , Style Council and Weller solo stuff played as well as some Northern Soul, Ska, Reggae and two tone. Really got us in the mood for the gig.
Nicky also showed Naka’s goal a number of times which was another highlight of the night.

Kojo?????
Dallas
A Villarreal fan and I spoke about his memorable night in McChuills after Celtic match, when I was in Spain in July. Nicky’s fame has spread to Spanish music festivals. :)
Hello comrades
The Owner of McCuills had a pub in Shotts called the mucky duck where the pogues made two very famous performances .

Night all

Just back from pub, ( hard luck, Ireland), to find Roy Croppie stealing my post from 6 hours ago.

SOAL at eleven pm, that must have been brilliant seeing the Pogues in a pub venue.
Delaney’s, that is the beauty of Celtic, bringing people from all over the place together
Dallas Dallas
Those two gigs started the pogues
TSOAL
Were you lucky enough to see any of the mucky duck Pogues gigs.
Great to see you yesterday. Sorry for my shirt colour. :)
SOAL
That was late 1983 or ’84. The first gig scheduled for the July in ’83 was cancelled due to the heavy snow.
SOAL, we have a lot to thank the mucky duck and it’s owners for. The Pogues gave us so many great songs and gigs as well as hangovers.

I went on the Saturday night and it was feckin mental but i never realised that the band were staying in a hotel 200 yards from my parent house.
The next day i went into the pub only to see Elvis Costello sitting at the bar only to be told his name was a Mr D McManus .
Great band
