A club formed by the Irish immigrant population sends best wishes to Scotland and Ireland. Read all about it! It’s as though our heritage still has the power to shock. How timely the outrage came hours before Celtic launched their “We are Celtic – and we say No To Racism” initiative. This morning Scott Brown reminded us, “Celtic has been a club open to all people since its formation in 1888”. Stick to task, Celtic.
Congratulations to our former boss, Martin O’Neill, in getting the Irish to at least the knock-out round. Commiserations to our other former boss, Gordon Strachan. Gordon will be feeling sore right now but he should lick his wounds and stick to task. He got the better of Ireland on their head-to-head and came within a whisker of also getting the better of Poland. The loss in Georgia was typical Scotland – you cannot change everything in two years, while Ireland taking four points from six off Germany is inexplicable.
Gordon is by far the best man to take Scotland the World Cup 2018 qualifiers; get on with it.

Well if you get a chance, ask big Yogi what he thought about playing for Scotland!
I would type what he said but it breaks Paul’s blog rules.
He hated playing for Scotland, hated the “fans” and thought the SFA were just a shower of Dirty Orange B…….ds!
And that was him being polite!

Timmy7noted, I hope you saw my reply to your post re your holiday next week. Just back from Cartagena, and a lovely meal at the La Cededral for Mrs ACGR’s birthday. If you make it to Cartagena make sure you go here, its stunning. WDH may have it on his list. You will need to book in advance.
Well done Ireland and Poland last night. No gripe from me. I read some of the pish after match comments on here and was surprised by some of the cak, kak and shite espoused by my fellow countrymen. At the end of the day, we, Scotland were not good enough, we blew it in Georgia in a game that Gordo said we did not have to win when it was clear we did.
WITS, you should know better than to wind up some of the dunderheids on here you crafty old naked fox you:_)
To everyone attending the hootenanny today, have a magic time and remember, everyone you meet today is a Tim. I wish I could be there with you.

Delaney’s, i’m watching bbc4’s classic indie .
The Cocteau Twins were just on doing pearly dew drop drops. A certain Felix McGowan really liked the Cocteau Twins or as he regularly called them the Cochno Twins. He was thinking of the road from Duntocher up round the back of Faifley .
No! Oh oh oh!
Elevate!

You could not teach Keith Richards new tricks on the guitar but I’m pretty sure you could teach him what have good times means.
Natknow, are you up for a wee sesh in the whisky society next sat PM. I find myself at a loos end while the wumming GR’s do heir shopping gig. I rekon that gives me a four to five hour dram window.
Does anyone have contact details for ex CQN poster Tom MgGlaughin? I owe him a dram and would like to make good on my word to him.

Gordybhoy, it has been tremendous . Great seeing the best thing out of East Kilbride, Roddy Frame (not that clown Sally) and Aztec Camera doing Oblivious.
Joy Division doing Transmission on Something Else, was their best telly performance I saw. As an aside, the Jam were on that edition of Something Else.

Good man – would be good to meet Tom.
I was in the SMWS a while back, just after Tom had returned to Sconey Botland and there was a fella with a nice Celtic polo shirt on. I mentioned to him that he was the best-dressed guy in the place. Wondered at the time if it was Tom as I knew he had moved to Edinburgh. Not sure why I thought that! Overactive imagination clearly!
