The Belgian league put the cat amongst the waffles yesterday by declaring the Jupiler League over and Bruges champions. They sorted out their TV and other commercial arrangements and can start next season as soon as it is safe to do so.
There are very few calls to cut seasons short. Tight leagues, such as in Italy and Spain, would forever have questions hanging over them, while those assured of winning the title, as in Scotland and England, want to do so on the field, not at a league meeting. Still, it was nice to see panic among the Null and Voiders, who would rather everyone lost than anyone (Celtic) won.
The Belgians have been pragmatic but premature, football is finished for the season, their champions are assured without controversy and they will accommodate those threatened with relegation. The rest of Europe still clings to the hope that competition can start behind closed doors in the summer. It will next month before we know if this is possible, there is no reason to make decisions before then.

Unable to follow your thought process on this, but a blanket question would certainly not encapsulate all CQN’ers.
I would wager there are many on here better off now than in 2006. I do not know, but I would imagine there are some who have :-
Inherited property ( Maybe through council house sell off )
Have finalised or are paying mortgage payments at historic low interest rates.
Rent property out.
Have stocks, shares, Isas, final salery pensions etc.
Have higher earnings as they utilise degrees to fill senior positions.
Have second homes.
Live in suburbia
Some may even have personalised number plates.
Two car families.
Multiple exotic holidays per year.
Apart from a late entry into a company pension / share scheme and finalising the mortgage, none of the above apply to myself, but don’t kid yourself that many on CQN do not fall into these categories.
This is not to acknowledge that real poverty exists and the requirement for food banks in 2020 is disgraceful, not to mention the homeless who would love to have just one home.

I watched it last night obviously knowing the score. I wasnt at the game but I watched it in a Pub called The Queens Park Cafe near Hampden, and the place was packed so at the time I didnt take in all that was happening on TV etc.
Apart from the Huns and their EBT Players…it was obvious that Paul Lambert was the wrong decision to play him as he was injured before a ball was kicked, and I couldnt believe how bad Stan Petrov was either, so our midfield was being overrun, which led to wee Henrik having a very quiet day as their was NO Service to him…and little more to Johnny Hartson.
Chris Sutton had a great game in the centre of defence, and the Huns 1st Goal was imho the fault of Big Johan who clattered into Sutton when going to clear with a header and the ball fell to that ” Racoon lookalike…Lovernkrands”, who scored to make it 1-1.
Big Sutty was immense, although he allowed himself to caught out for the winning goal when Racoon Boy was allowed to sneak around the back of sutton and score with the heid. It looked as though the whole Celtic defence had switched off as the cross was coming in.
I was surprised that Big Bobo wasnt sent aff for taking his Jersey off after scoring as he had already been booked. I was raging with the Ref Dallas…..just HOW MANY Fouls did Amuruso commit AFTER he was Booked…..6 or 7 …and still not sent aff !
When ferguson scored the Huns second…he to took aff his manky Jersey…and NO Booking ??
Celtic to be honest had at least 4 or 5 players who just were NOT at it on the Day…in general we were very poor. I think the huns got great confidence when they realised that Paul Lambert wasnt fit and therefore or midfield was light from the start ?

MacJay in my opinion is an enigma. Yes he has right wing facist views, which I totally disagree with. However, he is entitled to his opinion and views. I compare my dilemma with a 1988 union conference I attended. There was an individual who held right wing facist views, nearly caused a riot when addressing the conference from the floor. The Chairperson recognised they were entitled to air their argument and I got that.
MacJay though, in my opinion is bringing the blog in to disrepute. To cite historical events when debating the current predicament we face, Covid-19 is just so so wrong. The final straw for me was his posting of the English national anthem.
I have e-mailed P67 my post, hopefully he will consider my views as I will never engage with him or insult him personally on the blog as I too do not want to bring the blog in to disrepute.
