Boyata transformation is beyond belief

840

When we signed Dedryck Boyata, while simultaneously losing loanee Jason Denayer, I heard that bullish comment from Celtic Park “We made Denayer into a regular Belgian international and we’ll do the same for Boyata.”

Teenage Jason Denayer was part of a record-breaking Celtic central defence.  Fast and skilful, there was little chance parent club Manchester City would allow him to extend his stay in Scotland.  Dedryck was older, had played less football, and City allowed him to leave for £1.5m.  The claim that we could make him into a Belgium regular seemed fanciful.

Belgium are the top team in the Fifa rankings.  Getting anywhere near this squad is an achievement, but Dedryck is now a regular fixture.  When Jason Denayer made a late entrance in the game against Iceland last night, it was captain, Vincent Kompany he replaced, not the Celtic central defender.

Dedryck has only been at Celtic three years and the early months of his time here were memorable for an own goal against Malmo and a very poor performance away to Molde.  His transformation is beyond belief.

No time for the tax cheat in charge of Scotia or the corrupt SFA and SPFL.

I will support whoever they are playing. As maybe if they get pumped it will bring change.

The lot of them need sacked with immediate effect. Only my opinion of course.

Mention of Bobby Murdoch brings back memories of one of, if not the most powerfully graceful wearers of the Hoops.

He was in my mind when I posted on my invisible keyboard last week, that I hoped tha Calum was undergoing the BM transformation, by dropping deeper into midfield.

  13. Watching Oz v Sth Korea – like the South’s number 4; nickname ‘Monster’ – big no mess 22yr centre half with a decent pass in him

  14. Gooooooooood morning all, have a great Saturday whatever your plans.

Congratulations to you and your daughter on her call. I hope she goes on to enjoy a long and happy career, and is able to help many people on the way.

  16. D.D. Have noted that you have a considerable knowledge of your Irish and Polish origins. Have you sought to find out if you have any connection with Thomas Joseph Delany of Borussia Dortmund and Denmark ?

It appears that his paternal great grandfather went to the USA during the so called Famine. His grandfather was born in the USA but his father and he were both born in Denmark, Ireland and the USA were investigating the possibility of him playing for them,

He is a very good player. I have watched him several times playing for Dortmund. He would be a great Celt, but I guess out of our price range,

Yeah, Capt Beefheart, love the guy. Was never too sure where his first musical love really was, maybe it’s his versatility. Great stuff

  18. I’ve been to many Scotland games in the past, listening to Celtic players being berated for no other reason than they wore the hoops.

last game was against Italy at hampden.

The cheating and corruption within the SFA had finally took it’s toll on my support.

Mc Leish walking back into the Scotland job was the final straw… £20 on Albania to win.
