Tomorrow’s Annual General Meeting of the Scottish Premier League is set to be the third great football meeting in the last two weeks. The Prophet of Armageddon, chief executive Neil Doncaster, will face his shareholders and either have to declare he was being truthful when he told them, and Scottish Football League clubs, the SPL would be unable to fulfil their contractual obligations if Sevco were denied a place in the First Division, or that this was a cunning ruse designed to manipulate clubs and fans alike.
Doncaster was surely encouraged by some in the SPL to adopt his confrontational stance but support from SPL clubs was certainly not universal. No representatives from Celtic participated in any meetings or conversations regarding the contents of the presentation made to SFL clubs, nor was the club informed or consulted on it.
Well done to the Aberdeen fans who kicked off the Sell-out Saturday initiative. They hope to sell-out Pittodrie for their 11 August game and want to as many fans as possible to buy season tickets. The idea has been picked up by clubs throughout the league.
I get the feeling that if supporters groups got together we could use this unique moment, when camaraderie among fans coincided with unparalleled fan power over the clubs, to define a framework for the game we wanted, not something a dreamt up by a Norfolk MBA.
Even if we couldn’t get every fan group pulling in the same direction, a few productive bilateral relationships is all it takes to establish an powerful pressure group.

#bomberfestat one point, JB stated that he felt that the current owners, are rats.

@DarcheVinny
#bomberfestJB wants to raise £10mil, and has committed 40k himself, but could not confirm that £10mil would ringfence the assets.
—————–
@DarcheVinny
#bomberfestagain, JB urges supporters not to buy season tickets and if you as a fan support Green(& buy ST), you are disloyal to Rangers

#bomberfestJB says Craig Whyte is 100% involved with Sevco, but would nor – or could not? – provide proof.

You’ll have noticed a post from swindonbhoy earlier saying his dear lady has never been to Bonnie Scotland.
Do you have any words of advice for this good lady?

Bearing in mind your rightly increasing personal public profile and the growing influence of CQN as a point of reference I am delighted that you are making this point.
It reflects the views of a number of posters on this site and elsewhere .
The two most remarkable aspects of this whole affair in its unfolding have been both the commonality of approach and innovation shown by fans across Scotland and the ineptness of the ruling bodies in ignoring fans views in their deliberations.
I am firmly of the view that had the ruling bodies acted promptly in levying appropriate sanctions in accordance with what it is they clearly know but will not admit they might well have swung fan opinion behind the entry of a wounded Sevco into SFL 1 and even the SPL. Perversely through arrogance or ignorance they chose to ignore the hand that ultimately feeds them. The misjudgements of the leaders and their deceits along the way demand their removal for lack of ability alone if not for lack of integrity.
My comment only recently was that I could not believe that there is not a will amongst fans of all colours to remove the stench of corruption that exists within the ranks of those responsible for managing and governing the game. It does need however a leader to emerge around which fans organisations can convene to determine a strategy both to remove the present leaders of the SFA and SPL and to determine a future strategy which serves the game overall rather than those who feed off it.
Fans groups surely realise now the power of the pound in their pocket and need to develop their own national association feeding off the individual Trusts or Fans Groups to determine what issues unite them as a platform for change to the benefit of
Fans and to ensure their voice is never disregarded again.
Bearing in mind the real financial impact on the game of Rangers demise, however welcome that is,for the overall benefit of the game it would be an excellent first step to use fans organisations to determine to what extent the Satellite Subscriber base can be influenced by football fans and to help deliver that bargaining tool to whoever will negotiate a deal worthy of the name and to help determine whether or not Scots Football should be seeking an increase rather than a decrease in payments made.
I said this needed a leader. Have you the time spirit and willingness? From what I read on other fan sites as well as this one there are many able lieutenants to assist.
Arthur Montford.
Compare and contrast.

#bomberfest this sums it up – JB urged all present to support our manager and in the next breath urged us again to not buy season tickets.
