Celtic surrendered another two points to fall further behind in the championship race, drawing 0-0 at home against Hibernian. It was a unorganised looking performance from the home team who gave Graham Stack little to do in the Hibernian goal.
Gary Hooper squandered Celtic’s only gilt-edged chance of the game when, after playing a one-two with Anthony Stokes, he struck the outside of the post with Ki available for the square pass. Anthony Stokes had earlier tested Stack, who failed to hold the ball but did enough to clear.
When the same teams met on Wednesday James Forrest transformed the game when he drifted inside but he spent most of today’s game adrift on the right wing. On two occasions he cut inside with purpose, once testing Stack with a blistering shot from 22 yards and later when a 25 yard pile-drive struck the crossbar, but Hibs were content to limit Celtic to such speculative efforts.
Neil Lennon was justified in his criticism of his front pairing of Stokes and Hooper today but Celtic were equally clueless in midfield. There appeared to be no cohesion and there was certainly not a productive match plan.
Motherwell’s away win in Inverness gives the Lanarkshire side a three point lead, having played a game more, going into next week’s crucial game against Celtic at Fir Park. Manager-less St Johnstone dropped three points at home this afternoon, leaving them four points behind Celtic in the fight for the last Europa League place.
This is where we are people, scrapping between Motherwell and St Johnstone. Get used to it.

Hawkwind.
Silver Machine.
A media friendly, tabloid like leader.
To suggest we battling with those teams for the last place in europe is utterly ridiculous.

They may well crash but they wont burn wake up man and accept the mess that we are in its an embarrassment lets concern ourselves how to fix Celtic people in glass houses shouldnt throw stones.H.H.

Georgios Samaras won more balls in the last 10 minutes today than Gary Hooper did in the previous 83 minutes.

I am a lovely guy.
Hows about I invite you out for a friendly beer and some banter and lets talk all things football?
So if Lenny goes who comes in?
The abuse he took at my section at full time was shameful.
I go home and away and the difference in perfomance of support. Is vast, also texts after game, posts on here from many who don’t go to games is annoying.
I’m more raging a so called supporters, players will come and go and wish it was samw for some so called ‘supporters’.
Too many fans.
BTW
Celtic are third in my life after faith and family…
Summa of Sammi,
That was in a different era when players came through the Juniors or were sent out to the Juniors by their parent club to learn the trade (I can think of Kenny Dalglish at Cumbernauld Utd and Tommy Burns at Maryhill as examples).
I`m not saying that just because a player is signed from a modest club he must be hopeless. But when the majority of a Celtic team have come through the likes of Southend Utd, Hibs, Cardiff, Scunthorpe etc then I think expectations and ambitions have been lowered.
Wee strachan is the answer to the problem we have either manager or director of football
Love Lenny! Hate his teams shocking performances!
Baffled by many of Lennys decisions!
Disillusioned by the back room staff, defensive coach ma baws, midfield coach me arse
Just can’t get enough, just can’t take anymore!
Can he turn it around?
Can we go on a winning run?
Do these guys deserve to wear the hoops?
Are the Green Brigade the most entertaining entity at Celtic park these days? Yes,well done Lhads!
Think we need to get Dinamo in to sort this mess out!
Gordon64,
Re ‘the visitor ‘
I struggle to understand why someone goes on a website for opposing fans.
Genuinely can’t understand …as you say therapy needed.

Just go to the fridge and drink the lot. It makes sense or as much sense as I’ve just done and bought a ticket for Mrs Prestonpans for Thursday —- £28 bloody hell but she enjoys being beside the GB. Thinks when we chant “Paddy McCourt ,fenian army” is “bang your drum, feed your army”………………well what can I say!!

Thing is I could normally talk to anyone about football, but calling me Scum 1690, is not very nice, is it?
I try to stay away from bigots.
Ciao!
blantyretim pleased to hear it fella dont let these huns provoke you into anger we dont have time for that.We Celtic fans need to pressure the board of our once great club to start to sort this mess out.Im am sorry I would have loved everything to work out for Lennie but im not going to kid my self he just doesnt have it. Now in hindsight we should never put him into the position he finds himself in as a rookie manager at a club where we must win every week there is little margin for error. The huns will move on one way or another the only way we can change things for them is to have a winning team on the park.H.H.
I need a bit of advice again, I have forgot how to upload a picture so I can post it, they are in the computer somewhere and I remember I need to send it somewhwere. just can’t remember where and what to do, it’s called getting old.

but why does he want to be friends with us.
I’m no psychologist but i reckon truth wants to be one of us.

I am not a bigot.
I offered the hand of friendship and you refused.
I would even have bought the beer.
What more can I do?

Nice to see that they gave you a cell to yerself.
Jeez that must be hard to stay away from bigots if you are one
Just home from the game. First of all I would like to thank Ulster-Celt for a great day – minus the 90 minutes of watching two terrible teams.
My team (both players and management) are not capable of turning this round.
Root and branch change required.
Let’s make it quick and decisive for the good of all concerned.
Sin é.
Árd Macha
Over the many years I’ve watched Celtic even the better teams struggled at times to score.
At home , in particular, you always had the sense that as the final whistle approached the pressure on the opposition steadily mounted until they cracked , often in injury time. The players professionalism and will to win just became irresistible.
Lenny , Thommo and Mjallby have played in plenty of those games.
Not once today did I get the sense for one second that that was going to happen today.
Not once.
That worries me beyond words because it indicates the problems are about belief and guts and not talent.

I take my hat off to you bhoys from Ireland coming over here for the games and in particular that rubbish. I know the Wicklow mob are drinking in the East End as I type but only Miss Prestonpans can meet them, no doubt she will enjoy their company!!!

A big Hail Hail to all the good ghuys and ghals on CQN.
I haven’t been on this week as we have been on holiday in Scotland and enjoyed it immensely.
My eldest favoured me with her company at last Sunday’s game and my two youngest came today. We had a lot of fun, despite the result and the performance.
John 67 and SwanseaBhoy were great company coming back down the road, even finding a place that sold food on the way back when I feared everything would be shut, so spirits are not as low as they might have been.
It’s interesting to experience Celtic Park through the eyes of children. I recommend it.
When does the poppy debate start?
:)
One thing I will say before I go I hope Lennie has the good sense to resign before the fans turn on him as that will happen and he does not deserve that.He is and allways will be a Celtic legend. He has had our intrests at heart as both a player and a manager even when his and his families lives have been threatened.I believe the media monitor sights like this and that feed back will go back to Lennie I hope he uses it wisely and walks away with his head held high knowing he did the best he could for Celtic.H.H.
