CELTIC FLAG DAY OPENER AGAINST ROSS COUNTY

CELTIC will kick off the 2023/24 Premiership season with a game against Ross County at Parkhead on Saturday August 5.

The opening Flag Day fixture against the Highlanders will be shown live by Sky Sports with a 12.30pm start.

The dates for the league encounters against Michael Beale’s Ibrox side have also been announced.

The champions will travel across Glasgow for the first confrontation on Sunday September 3 for a High Noon showdown with the Govan club visiting Parkhead on Saturday December 30 with a 12.30pm kick-off.

The final pre-split meeting will be at Ibrox on Saturday April 6 with a 3pm commencement.

The first two matches are already scheduled for live coverage by the satellite broadcasters with the third game still to be decided. The game is subject to change and could be switched to an earlier slot on the Sunday.

There is a full card on December 23 with Celtic hosting Livingston. There are no Boxing Day fixtures for the top flight with a full round of games taking place on December 27.

The final matches of 2023 will take place three days later.

The Premiership will take a break after January 2 games with the league returning to action on January 27 when Celtic again face Malky Mackay’s Dingwall outfit.

The first round of matches in the post-match split take place on April 24 with the domestic league season concluding on the weekend of May 18 and 19.Opening Premiership weekend games:
