CELTIC are poised to play Ligue 1 side Rennes in Portugal on December 10, according to the French side.

There has yet to be confirmation from the champions although there has been an announcement from their potential opponents on social media.

The Hoops are heading for a warm weather training camp before the Premiership restarts with a trip to Pittodrie to take on Aberdeen on Saturday afternoon on December 17, a week after the proposed friendly encounter.

MAGNIFIQUE…Ryan Christie celebrates his strike in Celtic’s 3-1 win over Rennes on November 28 2019.

The fans are also waiting to see if the match will be a closed-door bounce game or paying customers will be allowed to spectate.

The clubs last met in the Europa League in 2019/20 when Ryan Christie fired in a penalty-kick in a 1-1 draw in France and Neil Lennon’s side triumphed 3-1 in Glasgow with the Scotland international midfielder, now with Bournemouth, again on target and Lewis Morgan and Mikey Johnston contributing the others.

Celtic brought down the curtain on the first half of the campaign ahead of the World Cup break with a 2-1 win over Ross County at Parkhead before their two-game trip to Australia to face the local side and Everton in the Sydney Super Cup.
