  1. I never quite understood the rationale behind the creation of the SPFL back in 2013, was it, but I think I do now. RIFC in the same league as the SPL teams, no potential (no laughing at the back) rules barriers to accessing the SPL if and when they got there ie for previous breaches to the SPL rules re registrations, non payment of taxes etc. Celtic reduced from one vote out of ten, to one vote out of forty, and an adopted version of “there is nothing we can do” ie cannot do anything about referees, about cup tie draws, or blocked highways. Or in other words, taking it on the chin.

  2. I often wondered about those decrying Dermot Desmond for failing to attend our matches because I was not sure of any causal relationship between the presence of your chairman and sporting success.

    However….

I am told Dermot was in Paris this wekend supporting the European golf team and they have managed to win.

Maybe- there is something in it :-)

Interesting reading back on here the comments about the assault on the linesman.

If you check the match live text on BBC for that time period you will see.

    54′

    Foul by Alfredo Morelos (Rangers).

Delay over. They are ready to continue.

    Nothing happened in between. Nothing.

Orwellian censorship – plain and simple.

    Official requires treatment

    Livingston 1-0 Rangers

We have a delay in proceedings as one of the assistant referee’s requires treatment for a head wound. Difficult to say or see what happened, but he’s now smiling and we’re back under way.

  9. Watching Cardiff v Burnley and it’s painful.

33 minutes had gone bye and commentator mentions there had been no shots on goal.

Lot’s of huffing and puffing but no football on show.

To be expected with old fashioned blood and snotters coaches like Dyche and Warnock.

Plenty big physical athletes on show but no real footballers.

  10. Splendid

The Scottish Premiership club Livingston have announced via a statement on their website that The Scottish Sun and The Sun Group Newspapers will no longer be welcome within the club’s stadium.

Following on from a “salacious and factually misleading” article printed in The Scottish Sun, the paper had claimed; “Suspected cocaine stash found in toilet of Scots Premiership outfit Livingston’s stadium.”

According to the response from the club, the West Lothian Youth Foundation that manages the Tony Macaroni Arena prides itself on ‘encouraging disadvantaged youths and youths at risk of adverse experiences to take up worthwhile opportunities and to divert them from unsocial activities.’

Although Livingston officials admit that “an empty bag was handed to a WLYF member of staff,” the Scottish Premiership club were annoyed that “the Sun chose to publish a stock photo from Getty Images of a bag full of white powder. The club views this as a despicable misrepresentation of the facts.”

Describing it is a “disgraceful piece of scaremongering over an empty bag,” Livingston clarified further that The Scottish Sun reporter in question was issued with a statement from the WLYF but simply chose to overlook it.

Taking a zero tolerance stance on this article in The Scottish Sun, Livington confirmed that; “The Sun and its group newspaper reporters are barred from the stadium with immediate effect. Livingston Football Club is also preparing a formal complaint to the press regulator.”

Oh,I totally agree, but that was a step too far even by his standards.

  14. It’s not right but I turned over to Sky anticipating some first class schadenfreude over the events at Tony Macaroni.

Imagine my disbelief when the show ignored its own televised game to do a ‘Celtic in Crisis’ special.

We got the full repertoire: China, BR’s unhappiness; a probable new job at, say, Leicester; Dembele; John McGinn; Dermid Desmond; John McGinn; PL; and a players’ insurrection.

Mind you, Sky is missing a turn. There are people out there ready and willing to do its dirty work and they’d be a lot better and cheaper than Commons. Some of the posters on here would do that job for nothing.

  15. BOURNESOUPRECIPE

    Have Chelsea apologized yet?

Or have the mssm run the story of how wayward official suffers shaving accident that impacted his eyesight and caused him to miss 10 clear Sevco penalties therefor the result should be overturned and a replay at Ibrox in the interest of sporting integrity.

Former SFA luvvies Peat and Smith think this is the only fair outcome but with the caveat that Sevco get a 3 goal start.

  16. BOBBY MURDOCH'S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS on

    Unbelievable.

Deleted again. Meanwhile a post with the same offending description still stands-I can only surmise,of course, and no offence meant to the other poster who used it. No explanation,of course.

Refereed differently, moderated differently. C’est la vie.

  18. SKY News……………………….An internal investigation has been launched at Sevco to determine if the coin thrown on the pitch was a missile or a take over bid for the club.

Our offence was a coin, contact clearly made and punished accordingly.

Today was an EBT,so nothing to see hear Timmy move along.

  21. Might even watch sportscene tonight, they might now look at the McKenna tackle on Eddie to deflect away from the linesman getting pelted at Livi.
