You’re dead right about Sammi’s effort that hit the post. Great ball from Commons (I think) to find him too.
To me, the only really big disappointment today was our captain. I thought he was very poor. Pukki isn’t a poacher but he is a football player. I hope he is able to bulk up for the SPFL.
I never realised how much Sammi does until I saw him V Moscow last year, from the north stand east, so could see him close up. At that level it is not as simple controlling the ball and passing, you need extra. In Sammi’s case he has create something, against CL class defenders, two maybe three at a time, which he does. He might fail to produce with regularity but when he succeeds it results in, what the game is all about, goals.
And Champions League goals are precious.

Sammy,
Assuming we are still in it after 60, bring on Jamesy for a Teemu , and Joe for Beram
Also, no idea who the ref is, but as I have said before, let’s make sure we know what he is strict on, and what he is lax on – and then exploit this.

This may not go down to well but it was my and others experience today. On a few occasions today supporters spoke in no uncertain terms that they had no intention of donating to the Amsterdam legal fund. I was also surprised at the number of fans who avoided the bucketeers and tried not to make eye contact. I was speaking to a another bucketeer about this issue and she stated she was shocked at the number of fans who didn’t contribute and actively avoided the bucketeers.
I notice Big Nan and others had buckets that were full to the brim, well done guys. I was at turnstyles 101-103. We had an entire line of bucketeers facing the oncoming fans, they had no chance of avoiding us, some dodged the first wave but our second line made that all important eye contact but for a significant majority this wasn’t going to make a difference and they walked on by.
Now it’s a matter of personal choice whether you choose to donate or not and this collection was organised at short notice, so that may have played a part in some people not being aware of why we were collecting but I have to say the looks on some faces when I asked them to donate to the defence fund would shock you.
I hope my experience wasn’t shared by others and I pray whatever we raised is enough to fund a decent defence for these 5 Celtic fans.
Long shot but does anyone out there know a Mr J Murphy who lost their season ticket today? North stand lower. Is there a protocol for this?
