I also head deeyel saying that on ssb, thousands leaving at half time.

That knob has obviously never been to a football match. What does he think people do at half time, sit about in the freezing cold when they can be scoffing a quality CP pie?

Calm down old bean you’ll do yourself a bother

My point still stands about keepers

  3. Real Sociedad have turned their game around.

They were losing 1-2 to Celta de Vigo at half time. Then they went 1-3 down ten minutes into the second half. Now it’s 4-3 for Real Sociedad and Celta are down to ten men.

Carlos Vela is the scorer of all four goals for the men from San Sebastián.

The coaching advice seems to be do not leave your line unless you are sure you are going to get the ball.

I cannot think of a single top modern keeper, Buffon, Cassilas, Reina, Hart or Neuer, who come sailing out like dear oul’ Packie.

They are playing the percentage game, as they do with zonal marking, and it is working.

  5. Today was a very enjoyable game. Aberdeen are not too shabby so to dominate so much was pleasing. Derk did make a big difference when he came on, immediately putting in 4 great crosses. Oh for a striker to attack those crosses!

Pukki has little confidence, he looked a sorrowful soul out there today.

    Great three points

If you use zonal marking, which I think we do, then that’s the only way you can operate, Shirley?

Agree, he was a despicable excuse of a man,but he was

    also a outstanding goalkeeper……there a said it!!!!

  9. So many times I read on here, Celtic fans complaining about anti-celtic bias on the BBC!

Is not time someone from Celtic requested an explanation from ‘A-State-Run-Body’!, and

to request a copy of today’s broadcaste, so it can be examined, to try to ascertain

‘once-and-for all’, if there is any substance to this!

    Happy birthday again…

Going by what I could see at the end of the game today, just what the cameras were showing, at least 20% had left before the two goals, whatever it is, it’s a pretty poor show imo.

  12. Just home via the pub. Enjoyed the game and especially the injury time. Young Darnell and Efe just get better every game. Pleased for Derk, hope he kicks on now. Teemu needs to bulk up for SPFL, and protect the ball better when he has possession. Hat off to the Bucket Bhoys and Ghirls.

As you know he is a top end fud :))

Due to circumstances didn’t make it into ground at half time , the amount of fans coming down the stairs to get grub at half-time suprised me, the foyers were filled with food queus till about 55-60mins.

they were going for food bud but wan brain cell could nae work that out:))

  14. For newer people, Vargas Shampoo is a very insightful poster from the old days. We can never have too many of those. I hope his post this evening marks his return to the blog. He has been much missed.

Packie was my hero, was awful at crosses, I mean diabolical how no one ever told him to stop it was poor coaching.

A few years later as a youngster I met Packie and he was no longer my hero, nothing to do about his catching crosses ability :o)

The celtic family never cease to amaze me when they are asked to help some of our own in need.

Met a Dandy don on the London rd after game , decent guy.

“we did not deserve that today2 says he

“yous ddeserved nothing out the game in my opinion” says I.

“We hit the post in 85 mins” said he.

We hit the back of the net in 91 & 93 says I.

    He never answered me :))

    Aye,agreed.

There are a number of people who are sadly missed.

It would be marvellous to have their input on a regular basis once more.

But the blog evolves, others take their place, and it still hits about a thousand a day.

Which ain’t bad by any standards.

    So…..

All the new posters keep doing yer bit,and all the lapsed posters get back where you belong.

    Then we’ll ALL be happy!

  19. glendalystonsils on

Amazing how people can see things so differently.Shortbread commentator just about had a screaming fit when Aberdeen equalised but after Celtic scored the first , he spent the next 10 minutes telling us it was the goalkeepers fault, Commons didn’t strike it properly, the ball by luck found a path past several bodies, blah, blah.

His reaction to the two late goals was even worse. He might just as well have screamed NO FAIR!

I have no problem with a commentator talking up the underdog to make the game sound more exciting but I cannot accept him not giving Celtic the credit they are due..

  20. Götze trying not to celebrate ….great strike ….very subtle …if ye ken whit a mean …braw

The info I gave was posted on here by an irish bhoy last season

Im sure he said last saturday ferry is 8pm… guess the bus was getting stuck in and around glasgow and missed the boarding.

Although with new bus park and new m74 connection it may be less of an issue now.

I live less than 4 miles away from cp… so I need to remember it’s a whole day out and a lot of cash for our bhoys from other areas and countries

Having said all that. .. guy beside me arrives late … leaves early. Lives in the soo side of Glasgow.

Last seasons 4-3 against the sheep… he arrived after Kc scored. Left at half time saying ” this is pash” :))))

  22. No real loyalty in football, Götze playing for his home team who is due to play in the European final yet still signs for your main rivals. Shocking stuff really.

  23. Leftclicktic, Jimbo 67 and I had a tough shift today in the Kerrydale Lounge but had bulging buckets to show for it at the end of the day.

One CQN’er had so much in her bucket it gave way!

Seriously it was a good turn out for a good cause and the vast majority of fans approached needed no explanation as to why this Dam disgrace should be contested.

Good to meet so many nom de plumes most of whose real identities I have already forgotten, but who knows but that we might be meeting again soon.

Special word of praise for Team 1 leader Hamilton Tim.

Special word of condemnation for the jobsworth steward who took us round the houses to get to the media centre and showed his complete lack of interest in his job and apparently life in general.

P.S. Almost forgot a special word for minx1888 for organising.

“If you use zonal marking, which I think we do, then that’s the only way you can operate, Shirley?”

I would draw a distinction between the zonal marking arrangements for free kicks and corners and arrangements for attacks in fluid open play.

We play an organised zonal defence for the static dead ball situations, we are more flexible and adaptable in, for example, a breakaway attack, when it is not such a strict zonal arrangement.
