  1. Once again a fair few “fans” in the Jock Stein stand decided to boo our team at the final whistle.

A double treble seems to mean nothing to these people. Makes me want to puke.

Away to ma kip with a heavy heart :-(

  2. We live another day… it’s only half time. We need a goal in th second half and I’ll be roaring for that with my young Tim’s…. Keep the Faith.

    Hail Hail ?☘️?

  3. Carnage is just the beginning on

Laugherty will be allowed to play on Saturday swinging a baseball bat and taking our two starling ch’s out for their dinners. Brendan will look the other way, and moan about the long grass.

Back of the bus is where we’ll be, till we get rid of the PLC.

Only a £49 mug canny see it.

    Help!

  5. From Monty Python

    There’s Archimedes, and I think he’s had an idea. Archimedes (John): Eureka! {He runs towards the ball and kicks it.}

Archimedes out to Socrates, Socrates back to Archimedes, Archimedes out to Heraclitus, he beats Hegel {who, like all the Germans, is still thinking}. Heraclitus a little flick, here he comes on the far post, Socrates is there, Socrates heads it in! Socrates has scored! The Greeks are going mad, the Greeks are going mad! Socrates scores, got a beautiful cross from Archimedes. The Germans are disputing it.

Hegel is arguing that the reality is merely an a priori adjunct of non-naturalistic ethics, Kant via the categorical imperative is holding that ontologically it exists only in the imagination, and Marx is claiming it was offside.

But Confucius has answered them with the final whistle! It’s all over! Germany, having trounced England’s famous midfield trio of Bentham, Locke and Hobbes in the semi-final, have been beaten by the odd goal, and let’s see it again. {Replay viewed from behind the goal.} There it is, Socrates, Socrates heads in and Leibnitz doesn’t have a chance. And just look at those delighted Greeks. {The Greeks jog delightedly, holding a cup aloft.} There they are, “Chopper” Sophocles, Empedocles of Acragus, what a game he had. And Epicurus is there, and Socrates the captain who scored what was probably the most important goal of his career

Not a great result, but not over, not by a long way.

    Must admit,it’s advantage AEK.

  7. Can’t understand all this “Rasta” carry on.

The most racist clan that I’ve ever encountered in my entire life.

It’s a myth, believe you me.

  8. Sun’s up in Denia and I’m off to ride 110 kms in the hills. The combination of the oppressive heat and the physical exertion will ensure I forget all about Celtic for a few hours and anything else that may be troubling me.

  10. Morning all. A night that started very well became quite frustrating.

The tie isn’t over so I’m not going to be scathing in my analysis. All I would say is that this stage of qualifying has been sticky in the last two years and Celtic (that’s both Lawwell and Rodgers btw) have had four and a half years to buy a dependable long term solution at centre back. Both guys have failed. So, in the next week Brendan has to earn his quite considerable corn by coaching and setting up a team that can nick a goal away and not concede.

But before that we need to deal with some Gorgie thugs.

  11. Was very down after the game last night, but now starting to feel a bit more positive. We played very well for long stretches of the match, but our inexperience in defence made us shaky to their counter attacks, even when they were down to 10.

We need Boyatta in the team next week, and we really need to get Moussa fit if possible. We can still do it.

On other issues… McGinn. Not much to add except look at the joy fans of other clubs are taking in him snubbing us, Guaranteed he’ll now be talked up something awful by the Scoddish press, despite being only half as good as MacGregor.

I think he’s made a mistake going to Villa – Bruce is a dinosaur of a manager and they’ll struggle to get out of the Championship.

As for Brendan’s relationship with the board – this is more concerning. BR won’t hang around if, like MON, he sees us indicating to move into the slow lane. Simple as that.

  12. Celtic dominated AEK. Possibly AEK have more powder for the game in Athens, but if they go for the 0-0, which is a common score in the Greek Super league then we know what to expect from the last 90 minutes. This is just half time and we were the better team by miles. FS even Killie can get a draw at Celtic Park if they have the luck. We drew against Rosenberg last year at home and sorted them out in the away leg. I am picking us to go through, right to the CL. Hendry and Ajer were both out of position for the goal but they will both learn from this. Hail Hail.

  13. I thought Celtic were immense in the first half – then they made one mistake and lost a goal. Up to that point I was thinking of a 2-0 win. Strangely, scoring seemed to lessen the intensity and AEK were allowed too much of the ball. The referee was poor and denied Celtic two certain frees on the edge of the box, and the trip on KT would have been seen as a penalty by 99% of refs as it continued into the box. As a team, I think everyone played well, JH, SB, Calmac, KT were excellent but sadly Eddie was slightly off his game.

Just my opinion (I am not fussed on losing out on JMcG – just worried that it might have upset BR)

  14. Good morning CQN from a dry Garngad

Disappointing night, but I think we will go through.

  16. I note you can now go out for a smoke at half time at CP. I hope this puts an end to the smoking in the toilets .

It certainly hasn’t stopped it yet, as per usual, the toilets were still full of smokers last night. Hopefully that’s down to folks not realising you can now go outside.

  17. Thought for the day….with Rasta Elder James Gang?

    Morning Tims….

Yip I’m still a Tim, ain’t doing an in-depth analysis of last night, mistakes made on and off the park for sure, however most of us already know what they are and battering F out your keyboard awe night wont solve the problem.

Chill out and rejoice, it could be worse you know, you could be a zombie ( aye I know some of them rrrrrrr).

One love people One love Celtic.

Up next the Herts and their long Grass, a few early goals and we’ll be Jammin .

  19. morning bhoys from a partly sunny Cheshire. some posters criticizing Kieran Tierney. to be honest thought he put a fair few crosses into the box.anyway its only half time.

  20. the glorious balance sheet on

Bada Bing – that’s a clear directive being issued to all referees. Always give Sevco 5088 the benefit of the doubt or else suffer the consequences.

I sense a truckload of Honest Mistakes in the pipeline.

  21. mullet and co 2 on

Bada, Clancy wasn’t the one that saw the incident with Morelos it was the linesman.

  22. mullet and co 2 on

Thing is they are using the fact they have had several red cards rescinded as evidence of their conspiracy that everyone is against them.

Is that 5 in a row now?

  23. i'vehadtochangemymind on

several crosses went across their 6 yard box – needed a toe poke in last night but nobody there – OE tends to be between the 18 and 6 yard boxes.

  24. Like most, I am disappointed in the result but I thought the game itself was an enthralling encounter .Calmac has become a real player. Very classy ,very confident and very effective. If Eddie is on form next week ( he wasn`t last night) then I think we can still go through.

    Cheerio for now.

    JJ

PS I thought Ntcham had another superb game and Broonie was Broonie.

  25. Spot in JJ

I thought some of our play (ironically) up to the time of the goal was sparkling.

But oh my how much can an away goal change the whole tenor of a game.

    HH jg

  26. Still deeply disappointed with the outcome last night. Our play deseved a better outcome but, just as we forgot poor play when a win is achieved, we will soon forget our playing standard when the result is poor.

Of course, we have a chance still but we are up against it now.

Focus has to be on the Hearts game but, once we get through that, we will be facing a hugely important tie in our season.

We are gonna need a bigger…. slice of luck.

  27. Joe Filippis Haircut on

I hope against hope that we can snatch an away victory next week.I think Brendan is a top class manager in Scotland but he is still learning the European game why he appears to ignore our central defence is strange as is the lack of transfer business at Parkhead.I think giving an interview that appeared to show he was unhappy with this lack of transfer activity just before a top European game was a poor decision from him.On John McGinn he has made his decision and we must now move on . H.H.

@ JOE FILIPPIS HAIRCUT on 9TH AUGUST 2018 9:18 AM

I don’t think he is ignoring central defence, he has just priortised big signings on the front of the park. Whether you think that is prudent is another matter. But from his comments, he evidently believes he is not getting sufficient support in the transfer market.
