  1. No PLC = £49 Old Firm....deceased √ on

Canny see the PLC continue to pay Brendan £45 k a week, without CL money on the table.

PL will have to park his plans for his new heliport, adjacent to the heated drive way extension.

  2. 16 roads – I think BR has given the board great support since he joined. Always said positive things about them and, in particular, his professional relationship with PL.

    Until now.

As an out and out Tim, he has accepted the party line about not being in a position to spend, that we are now a club for developing talent and then selling it.

    Until now.

For now he looks into the future, perhaps the next 3-4 years and sees . . . Groundhog Day.

Is that going to be enough of a challenge to keep him interested?

Over to you DD and PL. Match his ambition or watch him walk.

We are so close to being a really strong team, don’t let it slip away.

I can see Sinclair getting sold tomorrow…

If there is a god then he will be released or given away on a free.

How can such a poor 1 trick pony continually get into the side.

  4. Yet again our set pieces were brutal. We have two CHs who were the biggest guys on the pitch but no one capable of finding them from a corner.

  5. Drew1967 hope you are well

I was saying that to one of my mates, that when we did get by the defenders the cross was pish.

Then we started cutting inside constantly from wide areas to a packed midfield

    Hail hail

Great first 20 mins, but after we scored we let up. The goal we conceded was inexplicable. Looked like Ajer left the cross in response to a shout. AEK kept a good shape even after going down to 10. We played okay, but didn’t ever look like scoring. The two lads at the back looked nervous all night. I thought Lustig did well defensively. Can’t see us going through given our away form, but we’ve got a good team and have a chance. Maybe 30%.

Kieran apart. You coudnt find a Celtic defender on that park ( in euro games ) if they walked about wi a board roon their necks with huge letters on it saying defender.

  9. In Europe football is all about defence not attack. AEK proved that again tonight. Attack is easy . Counter attack is the name of the game. AEK did their homework.

  10. The Boyata situation is interesting, as he has one year left and wont sign a new deal. If the Fulham bid is genuine then i think PL will be desperate to offload him. BR has clearly said do not sell him. Maybe it is a red line for him.

  11. DD guys around us were saying ah well Europa league then for us… Ffs it’s only half time in the tie.

I’m like you every game I ever played I believed my team could win and same with supporting the tic.

I honestly do not think that team are any great shakes, I think we made them look good.

Have lamented this for a long time now. We don’t score from set pieces, it is unacceptable.

  15. My relationship with Celtic? It is 3 fold

As a shareholder, I am massively happy. Strategically, we are delivering on all KVIs. The value of my undertaking is of low importance, though I am delighted with the 5YOP

As a supporter (season ticket, Some merchandising) I have medium term highs and lows. The odd game frustrates me, though I like the trophies in May.

As a Fan (watch on tv, possibly abroad, disposable income now) I need to be engaged. I have a spinal attachment to Celtic. We still enjoy saturation coverage in Irish (and Oirish)bars around the globe. Could we be doing more? How long until the EPL swamps our inertia?

Who are we actively targeting here?

    Play safe and be good

If we do get through (and I think it is a 40% possibility) ,I hope the lesson is learned that brinkmanship is not a risk worth taking.

Standing still is the new going backwards.

Who’ll go the furthest in the EL

    Hoops ?

    Hibs ?

    Huns ?

Scottish football died in 2012, four years later, Celtic Supporter’s sold their souls and hammered 49 nails into the coffin of any lingering chance of justice being visited on the ibrokes ebt cheats.

Fergus(the huns shouldn’t be punished) McCann, and the PLC board must’ve had a champagne party that night. Roll out Brendan the squirrel, and 53,000 happy clapper’s take the bait, you couldn’t make it up.

  20. Just back from the game.

    Utter shite!

Teirney… MOM … my arse. Feckin’ useless!

    Lustig!

    Worse than a man short!

    FFS!

    What was BR thinking?

Or was this his way of getting at PL?

Either way…we’re fecked. So thanks to both of them.

  21. So we start a £40m must win game with 3 x 20 year olds and Lustig?

In a must win game BR waits till the hour mark to introduce LG, squandering almost 20 second half minutes where we don’t have an attempt at goal !

LG then has two attempts in two minutes. The game then peters out as we play pass the parcel from left to right with no one willing or capable to have a shot at goal.

Is there any other CL team that lacks:

    1/ a tall striker

2/ someone who can take a long throw into the box

3/ shoot from outside the box

4/ deliver a deadly set piece

    We have neither.

BR has said all week how important it was that we did the job in the home leg. We never came close. He said last week we’ve worked on 5 different formations by tweaking personnel. I never even saw a second option tonight. It was one dimensional football with nothing resembling a plan B.

And of course we can’t perform away from home so we’re effectively out of the CL at this point.

Never mind, Sevco have appointed yet another rookie manager so the treble, and quite possibly another invincible season, is on the cards again.

If there is a bid of £9 mil.plus for Boyata , we have to take it IMO, The planning for CBs needs to be adressed now, and McKenna not an option.

    Here’s the plan…!

Moussa , Odsonne , leigh ,Calum,Ollie , Tom will outscore the SPFL dross…!

    Aye, well,…….next question………

  25. Oh, I forgot , can we get some more of this Bankie great Celtic supporting Tim signing for Celtic shite?

You know the shite about how we must have a Bankie Tim in a Celtic team…shite!

  26. GARY67

You are right on the money re our total inability to find either Ajer or Hendry from corners. Time and again they plod up field, take up position around the penalty spot, and the corner is delivered unerringly into the keeper’s arms. In Europe, if you bundle the keeper, he will inevitably get the call from the ref. So keep it away from him. Why can’t McGregor or Griffiths deliver a dangerous corner? It is maddening and inexplicable. Then Griffiths hits a free kick from a good position right into the keeper’s breadbasket. He didn’t even have to move. Our best dead ball expert has scored three direct free kicks for us. Contrast that with Nakamura.

Despite obvious weakness at right back and the center of defense, we go into the CL ( with 40 million gross at stake) without a single addition from last year. I don’t count the Rogic and Odsonne contracts. The team has the same failings. Tonight, that lack of ambition, lack of planning and reluctance to deal from a position of strength came back to haunt us.

Reluctantly, I am coming round to the position of a few posters on this site that our Board don’t want to get too far ahead of Sevco. Every time we have an opportunity to put a foot on their throats, we pause to give them oxygen.

I’m afraid it’s too much of a recurring theme to be coincidence. If Dermot didn’t hold them in such high regard………
