Count me in, doubt he’ll score 15 league goals, maybe 15 overall goals at a push

  3. Who in this day and age still wants our owner to put money into our club to help with running costs or player transfers?

A successful club or business is self sustaining.

Two pubs in the same street and one lives within its means and the other one throws money at entertainment and discounted prices. They pay for this with money from other places ( personal money or from other businesses ). Which pub will survive long term? Which one will good, honest and clever people want their kids to support?

Maybe McCann, Kean(e?), Desmond and Quinn are all wrong but I cannae see it.

Stick yer ‘ we deserve better ‘ p**h and come into the real world

Just felt that on today’s evidence… amido has strength but not the ball control to hold up play for midfield support.

We have not seen enough though and as with every player who pulls on the hoops

. I want him to be a success and will back him.

Hope everyone gives him a chance… and if in doubt … remember big sammi was the target for ages and look how that turned out

If he is going to succeed from the very raw potential we have witnessed so far he will indeed need lots of time

  8. Sammi was never a target for being a poor player, that’s a myth, he was a target because we all watched him pick up the ball run past 4 players and bury the ball in the back of the net. We knew he was a player but for some reason he wouldn’t show it.

  9. I find it hard to believe Pat Nevin does not know who Charlotte fakes is

I look forward to the invitation/s. I believe Celtic fans to be fair minded and accept this honest offer…await to hear from branches.

cheers mate i am fine with that if it suits you, just looking to make a few quid for charity,

and hope that the bhoy does well,

leftclicktic I will count you in on the bet too then

  11. nally81,

You should not despair on posts here. This is an open forum and not all here are celtic supporters. There are plenty here who will like to lead us on the same path as our fomer nearest challenger.

I rarely post as I know that we do have a lot here that are not Celtic fans so no point getting hung up about every post here.

Thankfully we have a manager who understand the merits of dressing room harmony and a board who understands that we are only custodians of Celtic football club…. hence kicks out any plan that starts with speculate ……

[Usually it is the manager that is moaning that he wants money for this and that… here we have a manager that is happy with the money and support he is getting from the board but we have would-be amature managers/supporters who thinks that they know what is best for the manager. Next time the Celtic manager’s job comes up for grabs, maybe they should apply… you just never know]

As current custodian of the club, our responsibility is to manage the club responsibly, do the best we can to compete within our means. The club is not ours to do as we please just because we would really want Celtic to win the big cup within our lifetime.

Next generation may get to enjoy that….but we the current custodians do not have a right to speculate with their inheritance during our watch.

  12. We carried an article in CQN Magazine last season which was titled Who Booed Wee Fergus? Lots of fans had given frank views on this and many admitted they did and were wrong. The booing was caused – it was agreed – mostly be a calculated campaign in the MSM to undermine what Fergus was achieving. CF’s has been telling us about the Media House manipulation of the media this very week and yet we seem to never learn.

The recent discontent among the support is worrying. We lost two player who wanted to go and lost a handful of meaningless friendly games. We’ve won the games that mattered and have an extra £17.2M to play with (if it were them it would be being referred to a a war chest etc)

One other thought – them briefing the BBC re IRA songs. just incredible. Wouldn’t it give them a real dilemma if we help a minutes applause at every game – say in the 16th minute – as an alternative to these songs? We’d know what it was about – they’d know and they’d be able to do nothing about it.

So if u question the board u are not a Celtic supporter?

We wouldn’t have a club now if the support didn’t question the old board.

Simply not true. The Greek was pilloried by large sections of our support, without such rationale. I remember clearly some clowns booing him after he slipped on the pitch…..during that period of appalling weather a few seasons back.

The big guy seems to be quite insular bordering on introverted. It’s no wonder he struggled with such “support”. Celtic fans are fickle at best and easily led by our enemies at worst. Too many Daily Record readers.

  18. I was there and am convinced it was a small number of fans that booed, they were always know as the noisy minority. I don’t think anything has changed.

  19. gordybhoy

No bother! Hope Balde does well, but I reckon he’ll have a Fortune type effect (12 goals) but set up some as well, and ill still see that as a success

Anyways more money for KF, do remind me at end of the season ;)

I want the big guy to succeed so for every goal he scores in any competitive match this season … I will give a pearl diver to the goodchild foundation in memory of Ton and Non ….. go on big man : take my sweetie money off me and put a smile on my face

Would have thought so but the last few weeks suggest otherwise. Brentford v Sheffield reporting classic show classic anti-Celtic agenda. One negative story on us reported despite no evidence save 20 odd pages of FF bile while the videos of the sectarian singing in Sheffield go unreported. The Police are supposed to be interested in this sectarian singing even if it occurs outside Scotland. Year right.

No bet my friend I will donate £20 either way, hope its when he hits his 15th goal though :)).

  25. Nah, Sammy was pilloried because he didn;t perform to his ability (as Lenny also said).

Every fan know he had ability but week in week out he didn’t perform. I mean he hardlyt started so the manager also though that.

    —————————————————–

    Thank you CI Celt.

Yep, can’t see it happening. I understand I don’t get to see the full picture and certainly appreciate the Club have to be very careful regarding statements they make as the MSM will most times, if not always twist them to their own agenda.

However at some point in my humble opinion the club has to make a statement regarding what has transpired. It has impacted on the Club, the supporters, the managers and staff at the time. I get the impression at the time from Neil Lennon’s quotes that he also felt aggrieved at the outcome regarding “no sporting advantage” You know how we all felt when leagues were lost on the last day of the championship. I am sure the players and managers felt just the same if not worse. Look at big Chris Sutton’s reaction to the Rangers V Dunfermline result. Being beaten by your biggest rivals is hard to take, but then finding out you had been cheated out of them is just simply wrong.

I expected more from the Club after the LNS findings. I also appreciate that things at the moment are good with the club financially and with the Celtic triangle plans progressing things are improving off the park. Also the initiative to reduce season tickets and improve the match day experience are positives that should and have been acknowledged.

However what has transpired, and is emerging on a daily basis with the Charlotte revelations is too big to be ignored. If ignored then it’s an open invitation to go forward and accept corruption, and some would view it as being part of it for accepting.

Even a statement from the club to record for history what has gone would be welcomed and it’s the one thing that I think would be a catalyst for taking the game forward in Scotland. Certainly the club would be bad mouthed by the MSM but it would finally bring the situation to the fore, that in my opinion it deserves.

Many fine folks on this blog and elsewhere are trying to raise differing issues which in small and big ways interlink with what has transpired. If nothing is said officially from the club at some point Scottish football will go down the same road again in the future, but in my opinion ever more corrupt, as they will have been given cart blanche to do so.

Is it asking too much from the Club to support us.

    Dan
