When I was wee, we used to go bird spotting/nesting in and around a place called the Bluebell woods. Doesn’t matter where they are, as there’s probably a Bluebell woods near you.

I can clearly remember when I was about eleven maybe twelve , my brother finding a nest, and saying look ‘a Wren’s nest’. I thought it the most cosy place I’d ever seen, and I dreamed of finding a giant one big enough to hold an eleven or twelve-year-old and climbing inside for a sleep, but of course never did.

It is indeed Langlands although I fear your memory of the course is letting you down, with the 7th being a long par 4 with out of bounds all the way down the left hand side.

Perhaps you were instead thinking about the near impossible slightly uphill par 3 13th where very very few golfers have ever had a hole in one. I of course will be going for consecutive Aces at that hole when I arrive there today at around 1.00pm. And this time I will have 2 witnesses.

Hope Mrs EC enjoys her 40th tomorrow ;-)

When broony got injured i reckon Beram expected he would be captain. Last season at easter rd he was warming up alongside paddy .. just in front of us.

We were a goal down and struggling in midfield. The shout went up from the bench for paddy to go on… the look on berams face was pure disappointment.

VW excels at everything, he is the modern complete midfielder, Kayal cannot replace VW

I still have hopes no matter how slim we can keep VW

I agree BK looked a good discovery when he first burst into the team, i hope he can recover that early form, for me though if i had to pick a midfield for C/L qualifiers, Brown Ledley and Mulgrew would start in midfield before BK

I loved Kayal when he first came, looked

the real deal…………but he has never been

    right since elbow’s shocking assault.

  16. Sorry bhoys but Beram Kayal will never do as a replacement for big Vic.

Will never forget the Killie away game when he was taken off before half-time.

Happy with the new center backs but if Vic goes then we must bring in a replacement.

Not much on News Now (Celtic) about any replacement from what I can see.

Perhaps Efe could take on the role – seems pretty versatile. That said, stepping into the boots of Big Vic is a big ask for anyone IMHO.

They say it could reach as high as 21 degrees today! Brilliant, eh! At the moment the grey clouds are just starting to clear.

Cyprus was one of my best holidays a couple of years ago. Only 3 more sleeps till I escape for this year’s – Silver Wedding holiday of a lifetime to Dubai then The Maldives. Don’t think it will even fall to 21 degrees at night!

  20. rothboy, Lenny is after 2 more players, left sided according to the man himself, if big Vic were to go i would imagine Lenny has a player in mind. Cannot see Lenny taking a chance on Kayal or big Charlie in CL games if we get through that is.

No qualms about Beram replacing wanyama

  25. I have seen enough of Beram Kayal to state that IMHO he is not a good replacement for VW.

Shortly after he arrived he was my favourite player.

After a few good performances we started to read and hear about how he was flattered by interest from Man U.

I even watched a video of his dad stating how proud he was that his son was linked with going there.

His head got bigger and his performances shrank.

He started to believe that he was too big for Celtic.

    He also can’t tackle effectively.

He is a booking waiting to happen.

His performance at Killie when we were 3 down and he tried to get sent off ,was the most lily liveried performance from a so called hard tackler ,that I can remember from a Celt.

He would have cost Lenny his Job and his first title that day.

He got his new improved contract and never again was the same player.

McCullochs tackle was a disgrace , but he ‘sorted’ BK out.

If you want to compare VW and BK,

Look at BK’s performance against Utrecht, and VW’s against Spartak.

Remember the crunching tackle in Moscow from VW that set up Gary Hooper for our first counter attacking goal.

BK is an imposter of a tackler compared to VW.

He is now amongst my least favourite players at CP.

Although he probably wants to go ,VW never let his performance levels drop when he was in a Celtic shirt.

He is a natural hulk of an athlete .

An athlete that BK ( and many others)will never be.

I am very saddened that we will lose VW, he is a Lennox Lewis fighting amongst Pat Clintons.

Maybe this day’s more about VW going than BK replacing him.

    TT

  26. What baffles me is why the big guns of the EPL and top euro teams are not chasing Wanyama. They must be unconviced that he is the real deal. I’m sure theyve got it wrong and that he will get even better . We will miss him no doubt and qualifying for the CL group stages will be a harder task if he leaves.

  27. Estadio Nacional on

Id have Beram Kayal in Wanyama’s role if it meant the manager not putting a centre half in central midfeild, seemed he tried to get van Dijk to move into there when we went to having four centre halfs on the pitch last night.

  28. Once he has been properly rested.

Efe will be given an opportunity to play in midfield if VW goes.

  29. Ellboy - I am Neil Lennon, YNWA. on

While surprised at the standard of club in for Vic, if he goes to Southampton it can only be good news for us. 12 mil + now and if we’re smart a hefty sell on fee. He’ll be playing for one of the big guns inside two seasons.

Beram can’t be a direct replacement, great player at his best but not a reliable defensive midfielder. Much better making the tempo further up the field. Probably impossible but we will need to bring someone in to replace Vic.
