  1. Aberdeen still about 9s to win the league,

not sure I would fancy this Celtic team if it came to a last day decider

  2. The players on the money they are on need to look in the mirror.

    1) Can they truly call themselves professional? Tierney apart, not a single player in the side did his bit for the team.

Mulgrew led by example in managing to give away 3 corners in as many minutes, one of which should have resulted in a goal. Yet again, our defending when a decent ball goes into our box was appalling.

Hopefully we can now put the MiB issue to bed. It’s the players who’ve played badly. A MiB might make one or two mistakes in a game, the Celtic side tonight would have made collectively at least 5,000 positional and passing mistakes.

I think one is more to blame than the other.

  3. Problem here is that every team knows what to expect – it’s the same dreary crap over and over again.

Most teams in the SPL are experts at 10 behind the ball. So playing one up front is a complete gift to them.

I took a relative from America to the 0-0 Kilmarnock game and he could not believe that we were the big team playing at home – and he only saw one game – and he could see it in one game. Really if Aberdeen’s bottle didn’t keep going Deila would have been long gone. The fact it has is no excuse for him to stay in the job.

  4. TheOriginalSadiesBhoy on

I’ll be surprised if Ronny is still in charge at this time tomorrow. Tonight’s performance was unacceptable on so many levels. James Forrest on as sub when he is in dispute over his contract. He should have been in the stand. There are ten games left. We have been awful for the longest part of the last 4. There’s plenty of time left for Ronny to lose the league and there’s plenty of time for a new manager to win it by a distance. This is the time to make the change. Give the new person the 10 games to prepare for CL qualifiers. Sorry Ronny, I had high hopes for you.

  5. Just heard RD’s interview on RS, as predictable as his tactics, this guy is going to keep doing the same things over and over again and hoping for a different result.

  6. To use terms like “limping towards the title”. Is simply deluded. If not presumptious.

There is no sign of this Management team getting the players lifted. And therefore you couldn’t guarantee our next victory, or where it will come from.

Ronny is a beaten man…. We are steadily encroaching disaster zone, with zero sign in a change of momentum.

Avert danger now Celtic. The club board have opportunity to do something, to ensure the title. And it isn’t sticking by Ronny

  7. The reaction at full time from the support probably signals the end for Ronny. In fairness i think he already knows his days are numbered. He stood, alone, in the technical area for the full game, hands in pockets, no shouting, encouraging, nothing. Kennedy came out once or twice to pass instructions but It was noticeable that Collins never moved from his seat in the dugout. Distancing himself from the current malaise?

When something isn’t working you try to change it. Our formation, tactics and insistence in playing players in positions they are obviously not comfortable in, the continually playing players who are off form and bereft of confidence, it’s not working. Sending out the same old faces in the same old positions and watching them struggle is the actions of a manger who has lost any clue he ever had of turning things around.

He arrived with a promise of fast, attacking football, pressing teams high up the pitch. Anyone seen it????

  8. Tonight we looked like a team whose manager knows he’s going and the players know the manager is going. Time to put us out of our misery. There is a league championship to be won.

  9. CultsBhoy can not relate to Celtic Board ambitions on or off the park on

Limping towards a title we barely deserve.. Spot on.

The money we spend relative to our competition makes a slim victory embarrassing.

Lawwell should be ashamed. Should be … But he won’t be…

  10. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

I couldn’t make the game tonight and in a way I was fortunate not to be there.

I have backed Ronny but going by comments on here and e tims twitter, Ronny has lost our support.

The power makers and breakers at the club have big decisions to make.

Visions of 1980 and 1983 still haunt me

  11. thomthethim for Oscar OK on

    TET,

As you know I try to see positives and don’t like being publicly critical of the club/team.

It doesn’t mean that I don’t see the negatives, I do. It’s just that I don’t publicly criticise my own family and Celtic is my “other” family.

However, tonight is the straw that crippled the beast with the hump.

Without being scathingly specific, I expect the club to do what is necessary.

I could accept sub standard performances, while a style and squad was being perfected, but that is not happening.

The involvement of Mulgrew, Commons and Forrest and Rogic tonight was surreal.

If RD was trying to make a point, then it is lost on me.

If the midfield was a painting, it would be classified as a still life.

What is Scott Allan’s crime? Even Mc.Gregor has a good bit of urgency about him.

Maybe, like Hartley, he was resting them for the cup tie.

    I’m fed up!!

  12. Five changes ( again ) from the game in Hamilton and three substitutions, one shot on target in 93 minutes exposed Ronny’s failing hand, and not in a good way.

Ineffectual Stuart Armstrong dropped for Accies, only just managed to get to half time for equally ineffectual James Forrest astonishly recalled to contribute with one attempt at passing his man in 48 minutes in a game to be fair, where every Celtic player incurred the wrath from a deeply unsupportive home support.

Everything about this game was dire, except the open goal miss which should have ensured the three points went back up the road to Dundee. Nobody seemed to know (including the player) where Kazim Richards was to play? – and some of the Celtic players had to look to the bench for help.

Rogic and Roberts opened brightly but quickly got fed up, and the recalled Charlie Mulgrew had a mare, as did Scott Brown whose lost a yard and gained a stone. First half free kicks were squandered, because nobody really had the conviction to hit them.

Since Celtic lost to Ross County, Ronny Deila’s chopping and changing is much more going through the motions than squad rotation.

    M.O.M. Green Brigade Drummer.

  13. Magnificentseven on

There are many on here myself included who gave Ronny the benefit of the doubt last season, how anyone can still think he is the answer is beyond me, the team has no heart, no fight, no passion and no future unless a change is made

  14. Dermot, it’s now time to tell Lawwell to GTF, and put your first choice in charge, Keane, if he can’t motivate that lot nobody can

  15. PeterLatchfordsBelly on

It really is getting to the critical stage now. It genuinely feels possible that a truly mediocre Aberdeen could pip us to the league. It’s too late to change anything this season. We just have to hope we can scrape home with what we’ve got. Aberdeen remain our best hope. They are essentially pish.

The time for change is in the summer. Deila must go, there needs to be a clear out of players (the squad is bloated, but short on quality) and there needs to be a better strategy found. We also need a change in strategic leadership. Seriously. We need fresh ideas, fresh leadership. The whole club has become so stale, the malaise is clear. Peter Lawwell has been downsizing for self serving reasons since day 1 and it’s taken us to this point.

I don’t think spending money we don’t have is the answer. Better people running the show at all levels is the answer. The guys we’ve got in the manager, assistant manager and CEO roles just aren’t up to it and should all be replaced by more competent people in the summer.

In the meantime we just need to cross everything and hope we cling on. Shambles.

  16. He must be gione by lunchtime.. but so should PL… and the scouts or whoever buys players. Cole? CKR? Who would sign a player who has an 8 game ban then play him in europe and wonder why we didn’t have a settled team?

  17. As I was leaving Celtic Park ten minutes ago – a business friend who knows a bit of what goes on, drew his finger across his throat – he was with company and I never approached – wonder what he meant – don’t have his number or I would ask him…….

  18. No problem with crticism of the players, they are not performing well.

Don’t understand criticism of the team – we don’t have one, just a group of players trying to do as RD says and underperforming as a result.

Compare his incompetence with Leicester and Claudio Ranielle.

RD tells players how to play whether it suits them and their abilities or not.

CR decided early that his players didn’t wan’t to know about Italian tactics so looked at the players he had and worked out a way for them to play – as a team.

They work their socks off, they always support each other and enjoy doing what they are capable of instead of trying to play beyond their capabilities – they play as a team in harmony.

They believe, I don’t see the same belief in our guys.

CR is even reported to have said that the way they run for me – I don’t care what they eat.

RD questions if Andy Murray eats chips.

Dreamworld or realworld? I know which I chose.

RD probably now believes it’s now time to find another CM who can sit on the bench or whatever – that’s his idea of progress.

    Play the Celtic way?

How many more times do I have to see an 18 year old LB, whom I greatly admire, as MOTM?

Can’t be bothered going on stating the bleeding obvious.

    Best wishes to all

    Cheers

    Alex

An adverse result can be viewed in isolation, we all have a bad day at work now and again after all. But this wasn’t an isolated result.

One context for tonight’s result is the 7 dropped points in 5 league games since Ross County beat us in the League Cup semin final at Hampden a month ago.

Another context is the absence of evidence of development of a team under Ronny Deila. Over 100 matches, 24 players signed, and there’s little to suggest improvement at the individual or team level.

It’s the direction of travel that’s the concern.

Limping towards the title? I think that may be an optimistic view of what’s unfolding.

    Absolutely right.

The culture is such that players feel bullet proof , particularly down South.

    Witness the recent guilty verdict.

    Shocking mentality .

  21. We were lucky that Paul Hartley chose to rest his three best attacking threats tonight, and had his two centre back injured.

    Gary67 on 2nd March 2016 10:27 pm –

precisely. Collins sat on the dugout bench at Aberdeen and left the hapless RD to have the Sky closeup.

    He’s an imposter.

I’ve been banging on for 18 months about this mythical pressing hi-tempo football. If anything this is a slower team than NL’s team and that’s saying something.

  23. I remember SFTB laughing when I said I preferred John Hughes as manager to RD, wonder if he’s still laughing.

In terms of the SPL, Paul Hartley, Tommy Wright, Robbie Neilson, Yogi and Jim McIntyre are all miles ahead of RD in terms of tactical and man management.

RD or Fat Sally, coin toss? That’s how bad he is.

  24. Delaneys Dunky on

Great to meet you tonight before the match. The night turned sour after entering the turnstile. Can’t remember a Celtic team with less fight, than that bunch tonight. What has happened to Broony and Mik? They should be the leaders. Not young KT. Shocking display tonight.

  25. Deila is completely lost now.

Leaving him in situ is a recipe for disaster and losing the title.

Deila needs to be sacked now. It should have been done after the EL shambles. Everyday that goes by the damage is greater.

An absolute chancer who will hang on a long as he can repeating the same nonsense about pressing game, high tempo, technical performance.

League is at risk big time now.

  26. Thom

I know exactly how you feel mi amigo and it’s no a good feeling.

I can’t or don’t have the answer, the happy clappers will tell you we are a well run club, we are top of the league blah blah blah, what they forget is we are on that downward spiral and we are going down at a rate of knots that it’s getting out of control.

Been saying for years that we need to change the policy, that is what’s killing us.

    HH

  27. Understandable disappointment tonight. Congrats to Paul Hartley’s tactics and team performance.

Celtic have Invested in a young manager and young players which is always fraught with difficulty. You’re never guaranteed a satisfactory performance for the consumer based customer The we want it all brigade, we want it now don’t buy into development. They want a hun bust strategy and a short term fix.

Hope Ronny and the board hold their nerve as long as they still believe.

  28. This is without doubt one of the poorest if not the poorest Celtic team I have ever seen. If we are going to win this league we need to support our team like in days of yore. Boo bhoys please stay away.

  29. Shekyourbouti

    Well said.

Thought we were dreadful in the second half.

Dundee well organised and will back them to beat Sevco.

One chance created in the 2nd half…. Not good enough .

  30. seems that all the happy clappers have failed to log in or maybe finally they have removed their blinkers and realised that they have been watching the same as the rest of us.

  31. Player of the year and young player of the year awards should go to KT. The award night is on 20th April, some of those chancers we have will have the nerve to show up

  32. I genuinely feel sorry for Ronny, the poor guy is out of his depth and has the likes of Collins for back up. Talk about being up the creek without a paddle. My heart went out to him when the ‘Ronny get to f***’ chant started towards the end.

The reality however is that 5 in a row is now in serious doubt. Ronny needs to go and go now.

  33. FOXY on 2ND MARCH 2016 10:48 PM

What if you buy into development but don’t see any? We are not developing anything. Everything is regressing.
