Since you mentioned books, Mrs TET has a new kids book just out, a school in Aberdeen is using it as their book of the year.

It’s called ” Once in a Blue Moon, Return of the Gargoyles ”

  2. Tackle of the day goes to Stuart Armstrong for perfectly timed challenged sliding in collecting the ball controlling and passing on. Superb quality tackle and play.

And spun away, like Paul McStay.

Another 3 points secured today.Magnificent first goal by Moussa.

However,we are not playing with the same zip and flamboyancy we have shown previously.

We are definitely missing the creativity of big Tom in midfield.

I noticed at halftime, one of our coaches was out talking to groundsman telling him areas of park they wanted them to concentrate on.

Brendan is not missing a beat.

  6. Not really been close to the blog today, but reading with sadness (and a few tears) the plight of Billy McNeill and his fight with dementia.

An absolute legend in every way, a true celt too.

God bless him and his family.

MissGFTB has a literacy week in school next week and me and her mum asked if she is taking her “horrid Henry books in” she said……everybody is taking horrid henry in

Will now try and get “once in a blue moon, return of the gargoyles” especially if a school is already using it

Sounds like a true story of a team from Govan

glad to see the family come out regarding big Billy, an amazing man, my only meeting with him showed him to be the most humble superstar you are ever likely to meet. a true giant,

  11. Petec Moonbeams..

After Brendan’s comments last week I paid particular attention to our passing across the back (in front of my seat where I took the photo). Passes along the ground the ball skipped and bobbled all the way. Brendan’s attention to detail is superb.

A wonderful top 10. Waterloo Sunset a classic but the one that really got through my veins was Frank and Nancy. Every time I hear it I instantly recall warm spring days, running home from school, buzzing at the thought of my club playing to be Champions of Europe.

Everything was beautiful in my wee world, May 67.

  13. 2 great sport documentaries worth watching. ‘OJ Made in America’. An absolutely compelling documentary. And Cathoilcs v Convicts the story of a much hyped college game between The fighting Irish Notre Dame v the Miami bad boys. Hh

It’s on Amazon and Lulu, ages prob about 8-12, I have read it heaps of times when we were proof reading it, I found it engrossing even when I knew what was going to happen next, but I would say that :-)

Mrs TET calls herself “January May” for this book, she did tell me why, womens logic.

Just watched then Alfie Allan History of football. It shows Celtic FC and (and St Mary’s Church) in a very good light!

Irrespective of that, it’s a good wee watch!

Currently watching Oasis Live at The Barrowloads – a gig I was at. They ain’t the Roses but it was a good gig. Looking forward to the Roses gig at Hampden in the summer1

    Same here.

The opening bars are so distinctive that you know what is coming.

The other song (also from 1967) which I only need to hear one bar is The Carnival is Over by The Seekers.

CELTIC bosses hailed the “grace, humility and dignity” of Billy McNeill as his battle with dementia was revealed.

Chief executive Peter Lawwell has pledged the Hoops will continue to support their ex-captain and former manager — who is also an official club ambassador.

And he paid tribute to the Lisbon Lion’s wife of 54 years, Liz, who has always been his rock.

Mr Lawwell said: “Billy is a man of true stature, someone who has given so much of his life to Celtic and at all times with such grace, humility and dignity.

“He is respected by all in football and someone who will always be loved dearly by all Celtic supporters.

“Personally, it is a privilege to have known Billy for so many years. To me he will always be such an inspirational figure.

“We were delighted to welcome Billy as our ambassador and to honour all he did for the club when we unveiled his statue at Celtic Park — a fitting tribute to Celtic’s greatest ever captain.

“We have always been in contact with Billy and his family and have been aware for some time of the challenges he has been facing, a situation he has met with true bravery, a quality synonymous with Billy McNeill.

“I know Liz has been an absolute tower of strength. Her compassion and care has been crucial and I would like to pay tribute to her and the rest of the family.”

Mr Lawwell added: “He is a very special man and everyone at Celtic will continue to give Billy and his family every support.”

Celtic FC Foundation will donate cash from a charity match involving Hoops legends Henrik Larsson and Lubo Moravcik to projects associated with dementia.

I have the memory of a newt (thankfully) Big Shuggy on here can verify I was an eijit at school, so can one of my other teachers but he seemingly likes to keep behind his moniker….may the way Mr Crilly, I thought you were a great teacher……

Any way TET, my daughter would be amazed and delighted if we get Mrs TET’s book…..up till now she thinks CQN are full of idiots (her dad at the first of the queue)

I was at that gig too with my son. I was gonna retire from gigs after that one, I told myself.

Oasis were one of the finest live nights out a man could ever have, I always found them a real lads occasion. Their best show was The Be Here Now TOUR at the Aberdeen Exhibition Centre it was that warm the paint on the floor melted.

    Tonight I’m a rock n’ roll star

    KEEP THE FAITH

  20. First time I met Billy McNeill was in 1977 at butlins when in my formative years as a 6 year old goal keeper Billy was there to present me my runners up medal with Danny McGrain.
