    Ok, if we are getting down to brass tacks about the semi-final, the biggest coward in that game (IMHO) was Dedryck Boyata who only lasted 10 minutes. However, he has redeemed himself this season.

     

     

    Nir Bitton seems to be this seasons whipping bhoy but (again IMHO) has been first class over the last 2 months.

    The news about Big Billy is a real dampener on this weekend.

     

    His headed goals against Dunfermline, Vojvodina and Rangers in the 4-0 cup final will always be in my memory.

    There was a harbour cruise laid on for Billy and his wife when he came to Sydney approx 6 years ago.

     

    And ,yes some ditties were delivered with gusto.

     

    No. Not that one. :-)

     

    I had a good chat with his wife who was from Whiteinch and attended Victoria Drive school in Scotstoun , my old stomping ground.

     

    She had been a dancer with the White Heather club.

     

    The couple came over with pals of theirs who lived in Perth.

     

    Billy was honoured that day in fine style.

     

    For me , a magical day ,particularly because young Eddie got his tap signed and his photy taken with Billy who couldn`t have been more accommodating to our far flung family.

     

    I remember first seeing Billy play when he had a crew cut at a time when Bobby Evans was coming to the end of his career.

     

    Ask yer auld man about “crew cut “.
