Yesterdays game was,for me ,a bit of a drudge to watch.I have to say,for the 1st time this season.Very slow and languid, second gear throughout.Down to the pitch ?.I dont know.
Highlights for me,were the performances of Gamboa,Boyatta,Biton, and Moussas stunning goal.In Gamboa,I think we have a really good attacking full back, who has the pace to defend as well.
Wee LG looks a lost figure at the moment.Did really nothing when he came on.Hope he perks up and knuckles down to getting back into BRs plans.

Desperately sad new’s of big Billy’s illness, thoughts and prayers
for the great man and his family.
I will let the ole yins wax lyrically about Billy’s ability as a player.
As a manager he came back in the summer of 78, he inherited a
poor lot added Provan and McLeod and drove the bravest Celtic
side I’ve seen to the title on that amazing Monday night.
Over the next few season’s he put together a very entertaining side,
we didn’t always win but hey -ho that was fitba back then, I genuinely
think it was a golden era for the Scottish fitba.
After leaving us he came back to lead us to the double in our centenary
season…how many late winners did that side score?.
Wish I could stay and chat about Billy, have tae run.

Hat-trick via deflection from free-kick, without which it would never have gone in, but looked on target so he’ll probably be credited with it.

Agree to a large extent with your comments re Leigh G yesterday though I would temper that as the team had largely switched off it would have been difficult to make much impact. I wondered if Brendan had been tempted to bring Leigh on when James F had to go off.
I like Leigh and like others here would like to see him start a few games and feel that the two man up option has not been given enough ‘goes’. Moussa though looks in unstoppable form – and he might yet get past Leigh’s tally from last year.

JJHS, from my seat in 202, both offside calls looked wrong in real time, and we were directly in line.
I take it you will be in the batmobile again next week if ACGR is back from Spain? We will be doing the opposite, so it will be Benalmedena for us.

——
A bit harsh. LG looked in good shape. He had absolutely nothing to work with when he came as we were showing no real desire to score another goal by that point. You could tell he was desperate for a pop at goal but it didn’t materialise. He did pull a great ball across goal which Armstrong took off Sinclair’s toes. LG will need a few games to get up to match speed, although opportunities may be limited with the form Moussa is in. The biggest positive for Leigh is that BR took Moussa off when he was on a hat-trick, to put him on, that says a lot.
News of Billy’s dementia is not a shock. It was obvious to many of us when we watched him at the CL draw where Gianni Infantino showed him the grace and respect he deserved when he struggled with the difficult logistics of the draw.
It is the rapidity of deterioration which depresses us and leads us to pity his condition.
And yet, at the same time, we can marvel at the resilience of the families who cope and who struggle to love and care for the body of the person who loses aspects of their personality each and every day in a slow, agonising manner.
Though Billy’s own memories are being lost within the impenetrable maze of his fading memory, they remain very much alive in the shared memories of all those who witnessed them and who loved him for providing them.
Those memories are safe and cherished and will not fade away.

Off topic, Sky were discussing the upcoming final from Wembley today live at the ground, Ben Sheppard Sheringham and Chris Kamara were talking about penalties, and ,Sheringham when talking about Big Frazer said he only played and did it in Scotland or words to that effect, Chris Kamara immediately said Celtic’s highest levels and achievements are at the very top level, thanks Chris, Sheringham you are an ignoramous and no wonder peolpe want England to lose, think before you speak.
