Perspective.
Ronny Delia was at the helm for two seasons.
Ronny Delia won two league championships during his time at the club.
That’s what the history books will say in a hundred years from now.
Also I cannot agree with the criticism of any Celtic players at this moment in time.
Nir Biton, wee Callum McGregor, or whomever.
They have all played their part in the outstanding success that the club is achieving these days.

I was lucky enough to meet Billy McNeill once.
Caulfield’s bar wasn’t long opened at this stage and Caesar’s visit definitely wasn’t publicised.
No idea why Caesar was over in Beal Feirste, hazard a guess he was over to visit the owner of pub, I don’t know.
Fortunately enough I had friends who worked in the place at the time, so got wind of it and about 8 of us piled into the mate’s old Ford Fiesta and rushed up to Caulfield’s from Sprinhhi

Anyway, we got there just in time – Billy McNeill was just leaving the place.
Absolute gentleman and the coolest dude ever.
That was a brilliant summer day, and Caesar was standing there, at the Top of the Rock… Like a King he was, like a King.

Glentoran 4 Celtic 5
Celtic undertook an Irish tour the game above and a fixture v Morton in Dublin. It was amid the “big snow” and I was an excited 13 year old.I went to the game at the Oval mid week game with a pal,I have not bumped into in over 45 years. Anyhow big yogi scored 4 and the likeable Johnny Divers (RIP) the other. The notable absentee from the line up. was Big Billy, out through injury. A wee snippet of information from the game, the ref was informed by Glentoran officials that Celtic had brought on players and others haf forgotten to leave the pitch. I think we had 13 players on before the ref adjusted the numbets. A wee story ’bout the Tic and two young Tims 54 years ago. Big Billy the history maker.

And not one sniff of scandal.

10 years ago I was, amazingly, in the social company of our Captain and 5 other Lions at a Lisbon 40th anniversary event.
One of the most memorable days of my life. The photographic evidence proudly displayed on the mantle shelf.
God Bless Billy and Liz and family. God Bless us all.
Dull and wet again here in darkest Lanarkshire, no surprises there.
Busy day ahead and pretty much all of it to my plan. Half nine mass, gym, bit of work to be done for the week ahead and then some cooking. There will be some football watched also. Sounds a bit selfish but it does not happen often.
Hail Caesar , captain invincible of our legendary Lisbon Lions. Awesome. Remember he is human, I saved a penalty against him in Butlins probably 75 or 76. ; ) . Hope he is in his happy place.

Billy McNeil.
“Like a King he was,like a King”
Now there’s a t-shirt shouting to be made. Arms aloft, holding The Cup.
Like a King,aye.
From his earliest days , Billy was memorable for his slide tackles.
Vividly remember discussing that at the time with my mates.
Our achievements in trophy terms were nil , and yet Billy remained at Celtic.
Brilliant Bobby M.
That photograph of Caesar with the European Cup, and the Portuguese polis – superlative.
