  1. Morning all.

8-1 and should have been more. Could our manager’s vision be bearing fruit? We can but hope.

    GG,

Nir Bitton passes the ball like the great George Connolly and even scores like him but defends nothing like the Scottish Beckenbauer, sad to say.

  2. Parkheadcumsalford

Big George was a marvellous player eh. Remember Elland road? Or waltzing around the Hun keeper? He was certainly a class above Nir in most aspects, but certainly not as prolific. 5 goals in 9 years ( in the glorious 9 in a row run too) but Nir, from his more advanced midfield position, already has 8 in less than 3 seasons.

  3. Guid stuff from the Celtic last night.

A grand ole performance complimented with some right, grand ole goals as well.

I hope the show on the pitch took the fans in attendances minds off the cold….it certainly should have.

3 good Celtic sort of, results over the last 5 days.

    1. Tannadice was right guid stuff goals wise and, singing from the fans wise.

    2. Last night was more of the same with, double the goals….Hamilton’s goal was a guid yin as well btw.

    3. Paul 67 has shown how, merciful / understanding / in charge he can be by, allowing Tony Donnelly 67 back onto his blog….hopefully it’s a new beginning for TD67, an oap Celtic supporter who, spends most of his time caring for his elderly wee Mammy and, supporting his beloved Celtic FC for whom he would fight Goliath…maybe, blindly defending the board and the hierarchy…which he does devoutly and, unconditionally…which he is perfectly entitled to do….he can be a foul mouthed old goat at times and, an out and, out pain in the ass for the likes of me who, feels that Celtic are in bed with the hun establishment and, have sold out the Celtic supporters since they woefully collapsed and, meekly kowtowed to the hun establishment after the shame game were, Celtic had 3 players booked and, Neil Lennon took the rap for the entire fiasco because….Celtic’s directors had already placed the club at, the back seat of the bus…so that, the hun establishment would go easy on the board yet, it was and, still is open-season on the Celtic supporters because….imho…the board that TD67 devoutly defends….sold out Celtic supporters for….an easy life. If, the board don’t want to fight for the Celtic supporters, who keep the club going with their cash input….they should be removed. But, they’re sleekit enough to know that, Celtic supporters heads have been turned by all the stuff over at ibrokes….so, the board will sit it out….counting on the Celtic supporters to believe that the huns are deid!…..They’re not!….They’ll be back next season to….do what they do and, know the worst bit ?….You’ll all suffer. Not the board….they’ll be too busy looking the other way as they count all yer money so….in the fullness of time,….maybe one day ?….Celtic supporters, once they see the state of the game when the huns get their feet under the table again, will take a wee 5 minute break and ask themselves…”Who really did die ?…Them, or us ?”

    Friday was grand.

    Tuesday was grand.

CQN has been grand….depending on how you look at it….over the past couple of days, it’s now up to the likes of Tony Donnelly 67 and, his pursuers who will try every sleekit trick in the book to get him to step over the line ‘again’….Tony, I sympathise with you from the point of view that, yes….there is a clique, a sleekit-clique on here who will be hunnish in their abandonment of you….eff them I say….the same clique pursued me for a long period as well coz….well, for a lot of reasons….I know that, Paul 67 almost gave me the bullet one day on here as well and, ye know….for a while after that,….I was almost willing him to do just that. A lot of water has gone under the bridge since then, well….it has depending on what view one takes but, I’m firmly in the camp that – Celtic FC / PLC are at it….colluding with the hun establishment and, ripping the p#sh out of Celtic fans….on a grand scale. The news yesterday about, spending millions of £’s to develop software technology to identify supporters to put a stop to bigotry ?…..WTF is that all about ? Know what ?….If some uppitty Tim was on Celtic’s board, they could be cute and, call a media conference on the basis that Celtic have been doing some research of their own and that, they might just have come up with the less costly solution to all of this bigotry stuff. Let the media assemble….let cameras roll and, tell them that, having done some research of their own that we seem to have come up with the solution to stop bigotry in Scottish football and, Scottish society as a whole…….STOP ORANGE WALKS!!!

See how they like them apples.

If this post has trained the clique’s….the sleekit-cliques’ guns on me….bring it on but, don’t go for TD67….try to be like Mr Stein / Mr O’Neill….get inside TD67’s head and, make him one of yer own….but, no the clique stuff.

    Take care Tims.

Tony Donnellly 67….get yer tactically astute head on – Hail Hail.

    ……Zzzzzzzzzzzzz……..

  4. tat,

I was in Austria when he scored at Elland Road. Saw it live, believe it or not. Never to be forgotten.

As for his waltzing past Greig and stroking it into the net at Hampden, never to be forgotten either. He had only played a handful of games, if memory serves, at the time too. One of THE great players.

  5. Great performance last night.

Although the Partick Thistle game was dire, I remember saying at that time, how valuable last minute winners are to any team. I think that game provided the kick start we needed to go on to lift the title, much like the Aberdeen game last season at Pittodrie when Virgil scored late on.

    Árd Macha

  6. Bookies on a giveaway last night. Leigh 21/10 to score two or more. Doubled it up with the baggies at the same price.

Should be happy but I did, momentarily consider the Leigh hat trick. If if if …….

  7. Next up. A Defensive Midfielder ?

Celtic boss Ronny Deila plotting to sign Croatian midfielder Ljuban Crepulja from Slaven Belupo

Ronny Deila racked up the biggest winning margin of his career on Tuesday night – then set his sights on Celtic’s second capture of the transfer window.

Croatian holding midfielder Ljuban Crepulja pitched up in Glasgow before the ’s 8-1 humiliation of hapless Hamilton Accies to allow the Parkhead manager to carry out final checks before committing to a deal.

The Scottish champions completed the signature of £2million Danish defender Erik Sviatchenko on Sunday. And now Crepulja, who plays in the Croatian top flight for Slaven Belupo, could be next after coming to the attention of Celtic scouts as they tracked Rijeka’s Croatian international midfielder Ivan Mocinic over the festive period.

Mocinic is now expected to remain in his homeland until the summer to enhance his hopes of making Croatia’s Euro 2016 squad – prompting Celtic to turn to Crepulja in the quest for defensive cover in midfield.

Out of contract in the summer, the Parkhead club have the choice of pursuing a pre-contract deal – or completing a £300,000 move now.

  8. TBJ says Wee Oscar Knox is in heaven with the angels on

    Statistics

Over the last 2 matches we have had 48 shots on goal – 22 on target yielding 12 goals

That’s a shot on goal every 4 minutes with an on target shot every 12 minutes and a goal every 15

    Pretty decent

  9. BOBBY MURDOCH'S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS on

    Morning,all.

    Well,that was a result,eh?

Fifteen months ago,we created as many chances, lost as many goals, got beat…

Thirty shots on goal, not to be sneezed at. I’d take that every week-who wouldn’t?-but sadly we will still stutter on occasion.

But when it clicks,it clicks mighty fine. Congratulations to everyone who attended,so much celebrating that you didn’t have time to get cold!

clocked a post on CQN late last night I saw 0.1 …… uxaches … off to bed with a sore head and avoided CQN

Guess what yeah …. not wearing my glasses

I even had a dream about cornering JC in Frankfurt hauptbahnhof in Burger King … yeah I know .. that´s one of my sensible dreams

8.1 … got to be a platform regardless of anything.

As one of the youngest but most experienced posters still posting on timdailybarneyquicknews the best thing to do when you continually disagree with a posters is to scroll on by. By all means let them know that you have no wish to communicate further. If you don´t scroll by and feel the need to address the point that you vehemently disagree with then do so without name checking the poster

I hope this advice is taken in the spirit it is meant to be ..but of course won`t care if it is not.

P.s JC was tucking into a triple bypass burger dripping with mayo and deep fried onion rings. I had a salad and a mineral water without gas

Great post. Balanced, funny, offering good advice and also got the ubiquitous board moan in as well :-)

    hail hail to all Tims

PS 8-1 made me think of the Michael Palin ‘Ripping Yarn’ from the late 70s when Barnstonworth always lost ‘8 bloody 1’ and he launched the TV/radio out the window. I recommend it to all who never saw it to look it up on You Tube. Perfect portrayal of most of us on here who moan about the current team and think the teams of our youth were world beaters and could still do a job!

  12. Joe Filippis Haircut on

Morning Bhoys how good is Griffiths? he certainly is on fire at the moment and could get 40 goals with a wee bit of luck this season. However,to become a Celtic Legend he needs to keep it up over a few seasons.I am also pleased that Ronny has shut up the get rid of him brigade for the moment. H.H.

  13. Morning Celts

8-1 in any league is a great result.

Hope we can build from this.

Nir Bitton scored a absolute belter.

    That will do me:)

  14. I doubt if this guy would ever be satisfied with no matter what answer he got, an 8-1 victory and this is on his mind, looks to me like his agenda took a boot Bawz last night, unbelievable honestly. Malcontents are what they are, your not allowed an opinion with them ……….in my opinion :)

When he was reintroduced to the team a while back, I thought Callum McGregor looked a much more composed , confident player. Since then , he has, IMO, of course, continued to improve . He offered a lot that Broony usually does and I felt he deserved the MotM `award` last night. Even so, I would have given it to Efe so as to reinforce his obviously growing confidence.

On that topic, we are well aware of those who regularly castigate Efe but it was fairly obvious last night that he has a place in the hearts of a great many of the support. They would love him to succeed and, with their/our support, he will have far greater chance of doing just that.

Funnily enough, I did not think Leigh was anything special last which might just show how much he has improved this season.

Finally, when Nir went to central defence, I wondered, ` Could this be the new Beckenbauer? `. Well, I am a great fan of Nir`s languid, excellent style but, on last night`s showing, Franz has nothing to worry about 0:-)

    JJ

PS A great thing for us supporters is that when Nir lined up to shoot, we KNEW there was a decent chance of a goal. A nice feeling.

PPS Was that SFTB at CQN Corner last night?

  16. The midfield was superb last night.Calum had a stormer. This boy is really now beginning to show his stuff.Biton was immaculate.Allan looks the real deal, had a great second half.GMS had one of his best games.Armstrong was pinging passes all over the field, and linked up great. We have Broony to come back, and young Christie to look forward to.Loads of talent in there.

Looking at big carlton when he came on.He really has trimmed down.Looks like he has been putting the effort in.

  17. Absolutely brilliant performance last night.

More of the same going forward hopefully.

Just a pity there wasn’t more there to see it.

  18. Well, looks like we might be signing another couple of midfielders. So some will go.

Boerrigter, Fisher and Findlay are the only players 100% nailed on to leave in the summer

    Players who MAY leave include

Rogic (if he doesn’t sign the offered contract), Johansen, Forrest, Mulgrew, McGregor (loan), GMS (loan), Christie (loan), Blackett (loan return), Janko (loan), Fisher, Stokes, Scepovic, Henderson (loan)

That’s potentially 16 players out the door one way or another

I totally agree with this article, and come to think of it, if you follow the arrow wayyyyyyyy back, all this crap started from a whisper from fat arse, into Lenny’s ear, they’ve never let up since they where liquidated, NEVER.

    ————————————————-

Good article. There are so many problems with Scottish football – I find it hard to believe that this is one of the items on their agenda. They really need to prioritise and use their time more productively.

A pathetic article on etims. I gave a short reply.

Good to read Ronny`s perfectly valid reasons for the substitutions. Some people around me were complaining about the `stupidity` of the changes. Not having a clue as to why the Manager made those changes was not even considered. It gave them an opportunity to moan ( when we were 5-0 up!) so they did.

“Just a pity there wasn’t more there to see it.”

There were around 40,000 in my estimate. That is not bad for a cold January Tuesday and more than Chelsea get for CL Group games!

  22. Great performance last night. I loved the way we were zipping the ball about.

    Griffiths – on fire

    Rogic – class

    Efe – solid

    Allan – vision

    MacGregor – dynamic

    GMS – mojo back

Slight negative is Armstrong’s shooting. The boy had a good game but needs some ‘JC’ time as he gets into good positions.

Well done Ronny, there was chatter on twitter slagging his team selection.

You see this is the thing you get…….., aweeeee wits he taking him aff fur?…..ehhh well obviously something wrong with him?…… Nawwwww eh dis that awe the time? …..ehhhhhh no he doesent. Mind blowing.

Well done Celtic. Shows what can be achieved when a fit, hungry team buys into what a manager is trying to put in place.

Surprised nobody has posted that we’d have scored 16 with two up front:-)
