  1. Like to echo Brendan’s tribute to Desmond, Peter and the board. There are idiots on here who would have them all ‘run out of town’ – than God they are the minuscule outliers in our wonderful support.

Magical, breathtaking – one of my greatest ever days at Celtic Park.

Thank you seems too little to say to our players and our wonderful management team.

Tommy Burns said he was just a fan who got lucky and played for Celtic – Brendan is in the same mould – a Tim – a leader, and a wonderful manager – a credit to the name of Celtic.

Great to see Kris Commons and what a lovely tribute from Brendan – also tickled to see Efe – wish them both the best of luck in their careers.

    Hail Hail

Might make a change from you rewriting it

  5. Matts today is not the day. But your reinvention of history will not be left unchallenged.

  7. From the beeb “Celtic become the first team to go an entire Scottish top-flight season unbeaten since the deid team in 1898-99”.

*and like Third Lanark and St Bernard they don’t exist now either. Nor do Leith, Port Glasgow, Linthouse or Abercorn who played in the 2nd Division and the Knights Templar who won that division also went through the season unbeaten as well. BTW we won the Cup and Parkheid won the Junior Cup that season.

Incidentally the top 10 unbeaten are Steau 104 games, Us 62, AC 58, Benfica, 56, Porto52, Ajax, 52,Arse and Juve 49, Dinamo Bucharest 67 and Forest 42.

They only played 23 games that season losing the last one 2-0 tae the mighty leather belts with goals by John Hodge and Sandy McMahon in the SC Final.

We are currently on a 46 game unbeaten run beating a hun one of 45 in 1993 which started with a 1-1 tie against us at the bigot dome and ended with a 2-1 victory for the tim malloys. This was the day the mitb allowed them to kick-off fast after we had scored and not allowing our players to celebrate. They also tied 7 games during their run.

  8. Less of the Internecine squabbling bhoys. Geez let’s all enjoy this day before we start on who did what and why.

WE ARE CELTIC- INVINCIBLE 2016 /2017. Another proper untainted record.

This is a total long shot but MissGFTB has decided her and her mum might fancy the legends game next Sunday, three tickets (need to be next each other) if available would be great, trust a ghirl to wait till the last minute to make her mind up once the game has been sold out :-)

If any supporters bus might have extra tickets there will be a home for them

Everyone- Thanks for making following The Famous Glasgow Celtic so memorable this season.

GG – many Thanks for the Tifo clip. That did bring a tear to the eye.

From all accounts, wish I had sky so I could tell them to piss off.

GFTB – would probably have agreed with you about This is what it’s like to be Celtic, but In the Heat of Lisbon is a real tear jerker when accompanied with pictures of Big Billy & the Tifo.

Again “this is what it’s like to be Celtic” is so apt….. By the way cheers for your post back to me the other night, totally appreciated, wasn’t on the blog at the time and I very rarely read back, but glad I did :-)

  15. Congratulations to all players and staf,f who, have all contributed to this season of success, with one more big occasion to come next Saturday in the Cup Final, if we play as we can there is only one winner. Brilliant season hopefully signed off with the treble.

Not the best performance today but the main objective was achieved with ease as expected. Another meaningful tactical switch by Brendan at half time paid dividends, what a ghuy. I think it may take some years before the Invincibles achievements are fully realised. Everyone of those players are now immortalised into the history of the Club.

BR: “Over 100 years since it was done so tells you the difficulty of achieving it. A monumental achievement by the players.” #inVIncibles

    —-

BR: “What gets lost in amongst all the records is a real dedication to excellence shown from the players since I came in.”

    ———

BR: “They will probably tell you themselves that they get pushed really hard, but hopefully they see the benefits.”

    – BR: “A remarkable achievement, and this group of players will inscribe their names into the history of this incredible club.

    “——

BR: “We had to come in and win the game, and to beat the goals and wins record means it’s truly a fantastic day.”

    ——-

BR on finally getting his hands on the trophy “It was quite heavy! It was a great feeling for everyone.”

    ———-

BR: “I’m really pleased for the board, delighted for the players and clearly delighted for the supporters.”

BR on treble: “I think about the next game. It’s been key to our season this year, never get too carried away.”

    —–

BR: “Will get a good week to recover. Celebrate this success & get ready for that, will be a fantastic game at Hampden.”

BR: “Very fitting that the team could honour the Lisbon Lions and the whole feeling around the 50th

    anniversary.”

    ———

BR: “Playing in the type of way which is synonymous of that great Celtic team of ’67. That was important.”

    —–

BR: “An incredible club. A special feeling I have here as a supporter but doesn’t take away professional aspect of the job.”

BR: “Very much focused on our vision: to win titles and play with a charisma and a quality which makes supporters proud.”

  18. Enjoyed that.

Celtic strolled it, and scored two cracking goals to create the record on a day for the fans

to remember the League was won some time ago at Tynecastle and invincibility was just

    icing.

Hearts played virtually two banks of five so they goals flood was stemmed, but not the inevitable victory as Celtic continued with astonishing motivation levels instilled by Brendan Rodgers and his coaching staff. Patrick Roberts had the ball on a string and won M.O.M though Broony wasn’t far behind, with another tremendous game.

The Tifo’s and tributes were different class and Brendan Rodgers ‘called it’ at the end when he said ‘the Celtic support are Celtic’, but what a side we have to sing about and I reckon the dogs

in the street round Parkhead could bark the cup final starting eleven?

Nice typical touches from Celtic especially the family values with Kris Commons and

the centenarian supporter who enjoyed her birthday bow in style on the hallowed turf at

    half time.

By this time next week my eyes will be on the transfer market where we’ll begin to see how Celtic intend to maintain the gap between Aberdeen, and sell Euro briefs in this season of seasons and in the dawn of the 50 years come Thursday.

  20. Fabulous day at Celtic Park. Now in the garden, beer and a cigar on the go. So much about today was beautiful that I cannot do it justice, just glad to be there and top off a great day. I know that Dennis,John and Tom who I met in Lisbon were also there to enjoy the day. Thanks again to my ticket angel who will not be home yet.

This is indeed a day to treasure, any naysayers can wait for another chance.

Hail! Hail! To the Celtic family.

  21. Fantastic day.

Big shout to the GB for that outstanding display. Not just another display. The work and graft that must have went into design and setup is amazing. Well done Bhoys.
