Great performance all round. Nir had to step up with SA injured, and he did well. Gamboa MoM for me…just

  2. Well played Brendan & his Bhoys

    KT top drawer

very good from Gamboa, sinclair, Bitton

high pass marks for all the rest Great to see Liam H playing well

  3. Glasgow Celtic in line with its long history today. Whole team was great. Gamboa a player! Boyata a player! KT and Sinky Top Class! No failures at all and when we consider those missing today, Brendan is a mhiracle worker with this playing staff. We bought watch there:))))))

    HH to the Mighty Celts!!!

  4. This is some team that we have. Wish we were still Europe….would go far.

    Thank You Brendan and staff.

Well done to the history makers today. Loved Brendan’s comment about us being a team with a history. He totally gets it!

  6. Very well done Brendan and the Bhoys!

Lovely crisp passing and moving throughout the whole game. Great to watch. I wouldn’t have liked to have been the one to have to choose the MOTM although if forced I would probably have gone for Gamboa.

There’s no way this team can be compared to the Lisbon Lions but it would be quite an achievement if they could go the whole season unbeaten.

  8. thomthethim for Oscar OK on

With the emergence of Gamboa and Boyata, based on today and recent performances, all of a sudden we have strong defensive options.

I really enjoyed today’s game and the quality we showed.

A wee bit more care with the final pass would do no harm, though.

  9. Gamboa , Boyata Tierney, Bitton I thought were excellent today, if we are looking to strenghthen I would like to see another centre forward added, LG has been unlucky with illness and injury but we cannot always rely on Moussa being fit, the CL qualifiers wait for no man , we need to be ready for them. BR will know who he needs

    Great victory today.

Gamboa was terrific, KT brilliant, Nir was very good

    Still prefer Erik to Boyata.

LIKED WATCHIN THAT WEE CHAT BRENDAN AND K T HAD. REMINDED ME OF SMITH SLAPPING DURANTS HEED. OH MA SIDES!!

  12. When the team sheet came out and there was no out and out striker I thought that it wasn’t really a worry as we score from all over the park. When Armstrong got a wee injury in warmup I got a wee iota of an incline of a wee worry.

But these Bhoys all know what they are doing no matter who they play domestically. So my wee iota of an incline of a wee worry disappeared before the team line was probably redrawn.

Anyway. Well done Bhoys. Great performance from the team today with special notes for Sinky, KT, Gamboa, Boyatta, Gordon, Jamsie, Paddy, Siminovic, McGowan Broony, Bitton, Liam and young Aitcheson. MOM shared by every one of you today along with the 3 guys in the stand Leigh, Stuart and Moussa as well as any other sub who has added to this magnificent run.

    Outstanding!

A wee extra special note for Brendan. Your nae Ronnie but yer awright. :@-)))

I see Sutton’s beating Leeds 1-0……..and he’s no even got brother John helping him!

  14. I thought the comment about a Club with a history was pointed. Well done Brendan. Loved it.

  15. Great result – nice to have been around 50+ years to see both the records.

Very impressed with Tierney, Gamboa and Bitton today and a mention for Boyota – looks like there’s the making of a decent CB there.

So what’s the next record? MON’s 25 wins in-a-row or get through 2017 domestically undefeated and go for the pre-WW1 record of 63? :-)

  16. Leeds down to 10 men – put out a second string team – losing 1-0 , struggling with the artificial pitch – hell mend them

  17. Celtic Park was jumping today for the latest of the crazy mixed up fixture list of consecutive home games, and it got off to a flyer with The Battered Bunnet restored in his private parking slot. Team injury rumours proved accurate, but it wasn’t until Scott Sinclair was switched back to his wide left slot that we took the lead, with a neat finish from the industrious Callum McGregor.

Another game with no fails yet Celtic still for part of the game at least missed Stuart Armstrong as the latest injury victim. It took us a long time to settle with all the chopping and changing, Paddy Roberts toiled in the middle despite his mystery man of the match award, but he did manage a good goal.

James Forrest took a fraction too long to pull the trigger when through on the keeper and Boaby Maddhun kept the score line tight when he denied Celtic a clear penalty, and offered no protection with his book throughout the 94 minutes allowing a procession of fouls from the overly physical wee Huns ( are s**t*).

With Jamesie withdrawn it didn’t take Liam Henderson long to shake his legginess, with a perfect slide rule pass for the real man of the match Keiran Tierney to set up the first of his assists in a brilliant attacking full back performance.

Nir Bitton raises his game and Broony continues to play out of his skin beside him in left midfield, Boyata, Jozo, and Gamboa all played very well, and Hearts hardly had a sniff.

Happy, happy days with fans favourite Brendan Rodgers , who brings the best out in Celtic playing beautiful inventive football backed by the best support in the known world.

    Bring on the Dons

    M.O.M Keiran Tierney

  18. Excellent stuff today. Had 4.0 but Boyata for first goal:(

Loved BR ” 129 years of history”, couldn’t script it better!

I thought Henderson made a real difference when he came on feeding Tierney with passes inside the full back = 2 goals!

Motm Gamboa previously said ” he could be a player” and now certainly looks like it.

Anyway well done Celts onwards and upwards

    Sunshine calling

  19. Great performance today Celtic, congratulations to all the Bhoys involved, saw the first record and didn’t think I would live to see it broken. Just wish my old Dad was alive to see it.

  20. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

Happy to say my auld da was wheeled up to Celtic Park to watch the record broken again :)

  21. Afternoon

Well I was feeling a touch under the weather when I got to CP and worried when I saw the lineup especially with no Stuart Armstrong.

First half hour a bit drab but lovely first goal by a player who I underrate. Therafter though I really enjoyed it as we just got better and better. KT almost back to his best, Gamboa had his best game to date and Liam H looked very good when he came on. Nir is not always my cup of tea and I wonder if Dedryk’s form is a blip or not but both produced their 3rd assured display in a week. Checked my FB page and read a comment saying Sinky should be subbed. Oh dear.

Hearts were poor. If they play like that against other teams they might miss the top 6.

Still feeling kind of groggy but I am one very happy Tim

  22. Gamboa was really impressive defensively and going forward today.

Tom Rogic, Dembele, Griffiths, Sviatchenko and Armstrong all in the stands. NOt to mention the new guy (who may or may not be an improvement – but lets say he will be…) We seem to have competition for places all over the park. Amazing what that does for a team.

Someone else mentioned the passing being crisp and quick today and it was. Hearts got the game plan right for about 20 minutes but we coped with their pressing very well, a few stray passes from the back aside.

    Very impressive Celtic. Very impressive.

Much as I want the sheep to finish second I hope we hump them on Weds. They’ll get 2nd on their own merits. No orcish skullduggery from Celtic. BR wouldn’t allow it anyway. And no one but me is suggesting it anyway.

Any new players before Tuesday night?

  23. Absolutely priceless statement by Brendan after the game on sky !
