    Blamers and complainers.

Apple think they know better than me what I want to say.

    ————————————-

Could be worse. I sorted out flights and tickets for the Molde game this week and every time I typed Molde the iPad changed it to Malmo.

    That’s just cruel.

Why ignore the blog on days like this?

It’s days like today that some rational views are necessary.

  3. the hooped crusader on

Thought the right wing was crying oot for Janko to use his pace and commit the fullback, thereby creating havoc with their central defence. They dealt easily with Lustig’s crosses and the absence of a target man limited our effectiveness with such tactics.

    Point gained onwards and upwards.

keep making the chances and the results will come.

*that’s what Jock used tae say

  5. A point gained?

Not for the dissenting Celtic fans still in attendance at the final whistle, this was a gift-wrapped point for a Hearts side that offered zero football in 93 minutes.

Kevin Glancy *the classic token tim* keeps his SFA ranking despite two blatant penalty fouls in the second half, both committed on Celtic’s best hope James Forrest. If he ignored the first one, the balance of probabilities meant he should have given the second, but we know that doesn’t happen in the SPL.

Don’t know how many times I’ve been to see Celtic when spurned first half chances, have inspired ‘the come back to haunt us’ cliché. Leigh Griffiths was the most profligate of players, but it would be wrong to single him out on a day when he couldn’t have hit a coo’s pudendum with anybody’s banjo, because he wasn’t walking alone.

James Forrest tied up Hearts playing on the wrong wing, and although it caused the right back to be booked, it was clear to me at least that a tactical switch might have profitted, on the right where Mikael Lustig couldn’t reach the final third never mind the bye line of Hearts half.

Kris Commons had a very bad day at the office, and when he doesn’t click too often neither do Celtic. Tom Rogic our Crocodile Zheng Zi faded faster than the referee’s magic spray, and the back four were never troubled until Efe Ambrose took a harsh red for the team, after Boyata who up to, his faux pas, could have had the afternoon off.

Celtic just aren’t very good at the moment and they even looked a shadow of the side that really did gain a point in Amsterdam.

GG heh heh thanks for keeping us all even with a keen sense of humour :) And yes, I do believe that data harvesting activites now mean that Mr. Intelligence agency now.knows more about you, than not just your wife, but you also. They just don’t have a clue what to do with it all ;p

  7. TheOriginalSadiesBhoy on

Poor finishing, poor refereeing and poor second half tactics led to today’s draw. Disappointing that we didn’t gain more ground on sheep.

Lot’s of our players did play well though. Jamesie, Tom Rogic, Efe and Boyata. Efe took one for the team. Kanji could have been brought on and Jamesie could have switched to right after 60 minutes to change the play and give Hearts something else to think about. Tactics were sterile during 2nd half. No variation, I have my foots about Ciftci.

  8. Commons on right, Forrest on left…Why????? Does this is crossover ever produce any results? Commons much better in middle of park. Once again, as against Raith Rovers, we played against 10m3n behind the ball and we really look as if we do not know how to overcome this type of defending.

  9. OK, it was 2 points dropped but I thought we were absolutely superb in the first half, the atmosphere was electric and we played some exceptional football, we did everything except score a goal.

2nd half we were just too predictable, high balls into the box and the Hearts defence simply got deeper and tighter but to be fair to them they dug it out.

In all, brilliant entertainment and ultimately frustrating but anyone who didn’t enjoy that game needs their head looked at.

  10. Yes we missed some sitters & yes we were all to predictable in the second half, but you shouldn’t have to beat 11 players plus the officials every week. Two Hearts players on early booking, yet were allowed to continually obstruct Forrest in the second without fear of being sent off. Last man challenge on Griffiths brings only a yellow card. A Hearts player allowed to play volleyball in his own box & a highly questionable offside decision in the dying minutes.

Funny how the Ref blows up at half time when we have a corner but let’s them take a free kick deep into stoppage time. Some might say he was bent?

Anyway well done Efe you took one for the team today (the ref couldn’t get his red out quick enough).

    HH!

  11. Just back from CP and I find it difficult to understand the angst.

Celtic played well against the 3rd best team in our league. We totally dominated. Apart from the late breakaway, Hearts had little threat. We created chance after chance. There were crosses AND cutbacks, dribbles and slip passes- everything bar a ball in the net.

The atmosphere in the ground was better and the attendance was bigger. A large and vocal visiting support provoked CP fans out of their slumber (GB excepted) and we saw an entertaining game, albeit ultimately frustrating.

There was nothing turgid or formulaic about our play. Rogic and Forrest entertained in the first half and, in the second, Lustig bombed down the right wing without impediment.

And yet, the two local loudmouths in my section waited until the 92nd minute to start shouting “That’s right Ronny, just you stand there! (what kind of movement were they expecting from the manager?) I hope Hearts score from this if it means you walk away from Celtic cos you hivny got a clue!”

I will never understand where an attitude like that comes from and I am glad that I do not understand it.

Another wee bonus is that we gained a point on the Sheepies- I remain a happy clapper tonight. I’d only be worried if we were not playing well. This was a far better performance than the Raith game- more of this, plus some fortune and calmness in finishing, and we will rack up big scores.

  12. Didn’t see the game, heard a bit on the wireless, which doesn’t help.

My question would be – what did the fenerbace scout write in his book about us today, strengths and weaknesses?

Always have eyes on the next game. Today is gone and nobody died. We drew at home is all.

  13. Stringer Bell

That Celtic are on a different planet to all Scottish opposition however they struggle to break down a packed well organised defence defence.

  14. 1 million participants expected in Philly tomorrow for the World Gathering of Families.

Should be a grand old sight.

I wonder if Francis will run up the Rocky Steps with his back problems?

Maybe just visit the statue round the corner.

His Holiness has gone indoors for lunch and mine is being prepared by the long suffering Mrs ‘GG who is dumbfounded and sympathetic we didn’t win.

  15. My controversial analysis is thus…

I enjoyed the game. I had a good time.

Heck I might even go back!

Efe I love ya big man!

    HH.

  16. SFTB

I’m swooning, yes swooning, at your positivity.

Were you there poster? To paraphrase a well known radio host.

  17. Just in from game.

Plus points : another clean sheet, defensibly sound not under any great pressure until DB pulls out of a tackle near the end(big fearty) and EA has to bail him out. TR class act. Some great team play until final third.

Minus points: continual poor cross balls especially from EI, he either hits the first defender or sails the ball over everyone’s head. Still to many square passes , poor finishing at least hit the target and make the goalie make a save. JF running into terrible positions just after passing the buck ,oops I mean ball.

  18. I was at the game today and thought we played well. We created a number of chances from good football. However, a combination of poor finishing and bad luck resulted in us not scoring.

Rogic had a good first half and Nir is a great Player.

How often will you say you enjoyed watching your Team draw 0-0…not a lot.

    Keep the Faith!

    Hail Hail!

  19. Unlucky Celtic today up against a team who were lucky if they crossed the half way line just like the Dundee game except the chances did not go in, I’m disappointed we could not get the win our play deserved but mind the gap Aberdeen it’s closing watch them crumble

Great tackle by Efe the only decision the ref got right today

The ref was a joke james forrest was took many a strong challenge as the man in black

just looked on oblivious to the fouling

  20. Evening all.

    Just in from the game.

Utterly brilliant first half. Should have been a cricket score by then and we end up drawing. 2 points dropped. So disappointing.

Thought Commons was the chief culprit, in the chance missing stakes. Izzie’s crossing is dreadful.

By the way, has Mrs Budge or Alex Salmond come out and condemn the sectarian singing from their support?

  21. Ron67

    I respectfully disagree.

Our left wing of Izzy and James was on fire today.

At least one red card should have been used on their right sided defenders.

    But it’s all about opinions.

  22. If Jackie Mac has been mutually consented, how long before we hear the cries for him to replace our successful manager?

Well he won’t have to spend any time familiarizing himself with some of our players.

  23. I like Emilio. He’s hard working, good going forward, has pace, is always available… But by God is he terrible at crossing the ball. I’m right footed and I’m 100% sure I could find a Celtic player or at least a decent area of the box more often with my left than he does.

You’d think it would be something that would be worked on but he’s probably too old to improve now.

It just bewilders me that any pro who plays and trains every day could over hit so many crosses.

  24. Izzy put in a couple of good crosses today that shouldve led to a goal (the Griff missing one great chance). Now from the other side…………..

  25. First time in my life I wanted Newcastle to win

Anything of interest happen in Scotland today?

Or just the usual contrived drivel

  26. I see the CQN adobe flash plugin memory leak still exists with certain combinations of OS’s and browsers on initial sessions. I guess safari and mobile is ok making Paul67 oblivious to the drop in overall popularity of CQN. Sorta analogous to Lawwell and the similar supporter exodus. Well who cares we’re just cum dum Tims!
