  1. Alasdair MacLean on

Morelos stamping very similar to his disguised stamping on the Celtic player…. deemed OK by Heaton.

  2. If we win the league and the cup and achieve the treble treble this season will be one of the greatest achievements in our history given the shameless and brazen cheating and the total ineptitude and craven cowardice of our board.

Looking at their self belief on the terraces , if we get this title It`s a real sickener for the huns.

May be their last throw of the dice.

In fact , they may have done us a huge favour by restricting our numbers at Ibrox.

We must reciprocate when they come to Celtic Park.

  4. with his previous red/yellow card count this season more or less will be out of action for several games ,

  5. From the bbc report:

“McKenna thrust up a hand to claim for something and Tavernier’s free-kick struck it, clear as day.”

  6. I thought it was a very competent display tonight, some loose passes and the odd lapse but overall fairly solid and fluid. Toljan looks decent, he gives us good balance on the right, has a higher starting position and linked well with Weah. Weah i though was ok, showed some moments of real class but struggles to take the ball into feet but will get better at that and that is why he is here. Burke is so powerful but equally as raw, i think he will improve but importantly he is still offering a lot to the team. Brown played well and looks to have his mojo back whilst his sidekick Calum McGregor was again outstanding, Hibernian couldn’t get close to him as he purred all over the pitch, totally football from the wee man yet again. A wee mention for Bain who’s distribution is brilliant.

David17. Where did you get that info.

Pal of mine who is normally spot on.

  8. Alasdair MacLean on

    CELTIC40ME,

Clear as day? I’ve seen several replays from different angles and can’t see contact. Not saying there wasn’t, just you can’t see it in camera.

  9. glendalystonsils on

BBC Scottish news…….’and now on to football , and Rangers remain in second place….’

    Celtic?……among the ‘elsewhere tonight’……

  10. macjay1 for Neil Lennon on

X ray plus diagnosis of fracture in one hour and ten minutes !

    Good going.

    Hopefully a rumour .

  11. David17,

going by the pics i have seen the tackle is nowhere near his ankle,

    much nearer the knee

  12. After a hard shift in the workhouse, with Ole Eurochamps67 back with his black charger, it was home in jig time after the match.

If you’ve not seen the disco lights by night in Parkers you are in for a treat, and the I’m glad I’m not young anymore, rave music makes it feel like a nightclub in Ibiza or what you’d imagine it was like never having set foot there. The Valencia game will be some show, as we’re getting very good at this glamorous glitz stuff, and even ole Hoopy the Huddlehound has learned some new moves.

Hibernian were left in the dark somewhere on the pitch and it truly is a sight to behold when the spotlight shines on the huddle the atmosphere is amazing, then the football starts under the brightest green and white Celtic have ever looked in our history, opponents must feel like they are already a goal down.

The Edinburgh side play football, or at least try but their open counter attacking game proved just as obsolete as the normal SPL version of the cattenachio, and it was a mere matter of time before we scored, and then again in the second period, to put the game to bed. Callum McGregor sprayed passes all over the pitch, and was a nose in front of Christie and Brown for man of the match, Oliver Burke could sprint for Scotland and Tim Weah has magic in his feet that Celtic will use for the treble.

Ryan Christie peppered the Hibs goal with shots all night his best nestled in the corner of the net to make it a deserved 1- 0 and his worst in the first half threatened the middle row of the Green Brigade. After we went ahead things took a noticable turn for the worst up at Northern lights, judging by the mild deflation in the stands. It was that kind of night, like the ‘bad old’ days when everybody was watching the match with one eye, and listening to somebody in the Jungle with a huge transistor radio?

Strange , the ground is now full of digital Tims glued to their devices, with the step for step Sevco penalty update news. Didn’t affect the Hoops till half time where even they stayed in long enough, hoping for the Dons to cut the deficit, with their penalty. Burke still hadn’t stopped chasing like a man possessed up and down three quarters of the pitch, Timo Weah slotted him in, and the striker, come wingerfired in, and it looped over the keeper off a Hibee.

Craig Thomson was at his miserly worst gave Celtic nada, what a line up Sevco have in reserve and no wonder Celtic fans have an ear to their games.

    M.O.M Callum McGregor

  13. On Christie, as much as i love the guy, he regularly makes the wrong decision whether it be a fancy flick / bit of trickery or has lapses in concentration when making relatively simple passes

It’s ok in Scotland as we usually get away with it but it wont be in Europe

Anyway, I’m sure it will come with experience

  14. Brian Mclauchlin( BBC SCOTLAND) in his report says izzy carried off after a challenge with Darnell Johnson. However he didn’t happen to mention the sort of challenge that led to the Celtic defender stretchered

    off.Three more points!

  15. Watched the first bit of the Aberdeen game until the orcs scored. Even game up to that point. I’m told they were better team when it was 10 v 10. I got a sausage for the hoops and enjoyed watching actual football instead.

Celtic are playing well with an under strength side. KT in his way back, Boyata back, eddy fit and ready to go again, toljan an upgrade on mika I think, jamesy should be fit again in a week. All of a sudden the squad looks stronger and we’ve navigated a few tricky ties with quite a young team while bedding in the new guys.

I detect some angst that the orcs are still a threat to our title. Cheating refs will keep it closer than it might otherwise be but they have to win practically every game. It’s not going to happen. They have very little room for error. And they are not that good. We’ve a few tricky away games to come but we always do. Form is coming at the right time.

Looking forward to cup football at the weekend.

  16. Well the post Dubai form has continued and another clean sheet is an achievment.

Hibs tried the high presss but ran out of steam as our back 6 passing was quite solid tonight.

Great performances from Brown & McGregor and decent showing from Olli Burke and Boyata.

It used to be that Craig Gordon was a 9/10 shot stopper and a 5/10 kicker but Scott Bain is now a 8/10 shot stopper and a 9/10 kicker – the balance has definitely swung in his direction.

We now move on to our two cup competitions to freshen things up but 2 of our remaining 3 league games in February are away at Rugby Park and Tynecastle, so we will need our 6 point league.

Make no mistake, that was a very good win by Sevco at the Sheep, no matter how they achieved it.

The angst will be maintained for some time longer and we will have to see Johnny Hayes at LB for a bit, I think, unless Toljan moves over there.

  17. We’re lucky to have two very good goalkeepers, both could be Nmbr one.

Bain played in midfield in his younger years I believe , much more comfortable with the ball at his feet than Gordon.

Gordon has a tough job getting back in the first eleven. Genuine competition for the Nmbr one slot which will lift standards , great to see.

  18. have to say and probably upset some on here that as well as ss played tonight he is too easily disposed and with a bit more conviction in the box he would score a barrowload

  19. I’m not a fan of heavy metal or rave music but neither do I think that Daniel O’Donnell, folk, reggae or C &W are suitable accompaniements to the disco lights.

We will probably have to put up with more poodle rock screeching, or the type of repetitive beat rave music you hear coming from cars where the driver wants to advertise his bad taste. The lights could take a bit of heavy classical, I suppose, a Carmina Burana. or Mussorgsky.

  20. macjay1 for Neil Lennon on

Was Broonie`s tackle on Milligan reckless ?

Could the tackle on Izzy have been retribution ?

  21. Bada

Walker said Steve Clark’s comments on the standard of refereeing from last weekend were ‘ pathetic ‘ . That wee jobby is best ignored

  22. Great performance and result this evening… might not have been the most historic of victories but we still won it playing – pure, beautiful, inventive football:))

    G-D @ 4:33 PM,

I think you will find the McCrone report answers a lot of those questions?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McCrone

Thanks for pointing that out… never knew it existed, what an absolute sham. Wish I was more shocked by these deplorable actions. It just reinforces what I understand about these sneak thieves.

Isn’t it amazing that an oil executive’s wife gets to become PM and one of her first jobs is to privatise our oil!?

    40 years of Thatherism…

Every year the good folk of Britain are robbed more and more.

My heart weeps when I think what our Scotland could have been…

Andy Walker said Morelos was unlucky. WTF.

His comments about the incident generally were either startling or bizarre , depending on whether you know what to expect from Walker or not .
