We so badly missed Broony and Stuart today.

Lenny played us well today in his tactics. Olly got overrun often. Callum and Tom were not helping him though.

  2. Delaneys Dunky on

Bring on the Dundee, Bayern Munich and PSG.

  5. My take on the game . I don’t think we are good enough to take on a Neil Lennon side , without many of our top players . IMHO we should have started with Roberts and Sinclair in the team , also the wee hibby griffiths , and what is wrong with jozo now .( this guy is a worry ) seems he can’t play two games on the trot , to many wants at the start . We better get used to refs like Callum ,madden , Dallas et al , because if our club lets the SFA off the hook ,then they know we can’t touch them ,and it’s open season on us ,so come on res 12 bhoys make the big push now to oust the cheats from Scottish football . Lastly , why did griffiths not just go over to the hibs fans ,after the final whistle . Instead of walking round the entire field , wee magician as he is , I wonder if we had been awarded the stoneWaller of a pen , if he would have wanted to take it . Mc grain , and dalglish were Huns at one time , but when they pulled on the famous hoops that was at an end .

  6. Well done Neil Lennon and Hibs. Good performance which took advantage of our European exertions.

This is why it’s good to have a club like Hibs back in the top league… they bring so much more to the table than Hamilton, Ross County, Falkirk etc. For similar reasons I’m hoping Dundee Utd get promoted this year.

We need a domestic challenge, it keeps things interesting, keeps the players and Brendan on their toes. Plus the stronger cubs like the Dons, Hibs and Hearts are, the more trouble Sevco are in.

  7. Goooood Morning CQN

    Another I noticed yesterday

Guess who supplies Hibernian team bus ?

Yip, Parks of Hamilton, strange connection that

I still hope we get 2 centre halves in January.

Well done to Hibs for giving a challenge but superb that Brendan and the Bhoys maintain their undefeated domestic record.

Credit to Aberdeen they are staying the pace which will change as the league develops but not enough to give Hunco any hope of second.

A much better league this year.

Oh dear. It would appear that the “prestigious” Eusebio trophy is off. Although the “prestigious” part seems to have been dropped.

Other than that, Mrs Lincoln, how did you enjoy the play?

  13. My friends in Celtic,

The domestic journey continues and has reached 58. Yes Hibs maybe deserver their point, but we were denied an absolute stone-waller of a penalty.

IMO, the fact the penalty denied was not down to cheating or any modern day conspiracy. It was sheer incompetence by a very poor referee. Collum is a trusted member of the clique of extremely poor referees in Scotland. I see it displayed week in week out in games not involving Celtic.

I absolutely believe that there was cheating and conspiracy years ago, but now i put poor refereeing decisions down to incompetence. Yes BR can play mindgames, but i believe he speaks as he see it and he went out of his way to praise Craig Thomson last week. In fact he called him “excellent” .

Personally i don’t agree with that assessment, but i thought he was fair.

HH to all, and especially to those who made the effort yesterday.

    GREENPINATA

Aye,Collum is incompetent. But he also knows where his bread is buttered.

    A late stone-waller to win a match-denied? We’ve seen that play before.

Contrast with the other end, where refs go looking for anything, even things that aren’t there.

    Shalk for Ross County,for example.

    Incompetent,aye. He’s that too.

  15. theBHOYfromU.N.C.L.E on

If we had been up 4-2 at the time he would have give it ……..credit to our players for digging in given the recent exertions and travelling with little rest time.

Same as I shouted as the game ended…… ‘well done Celtic’

  16. BOBBY MURDOCH'S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS on

    THEBHOYFROMUNCLE

Correct, mate. A tiring week, but the record is intact.

And still top of the table,so,aye,I’m happy wi that.

  17. Morning

Not unexpected that yesterday was a difficult day. Even with a full strength team and no momentous European night a few days before an NFL led Hibs always looked a likely place for our long unbeaten run to come unstuck- though in the event it did not.

Experiments were probably worth trying but I would imagine that Jonny Hayes would have wished to have had KT behind him in the first half – the Irishman was a lot more isolated on the left wing than Sinclair usually would be when playing same role. I was though surprised Scott did not start as he will be getting a proper break over next few days.

Concerned at form of both Olivier N and Mouusa D – the former had a real off day whilst the latter looks a bit too hefty and if anythin ess sharp than a fortnight ago. Tom R could have scored a sublime goal to put us on easyish street but was also very ordinary. The dynamism he had begun to acquire prior to the injury sustained last December has not been there this season.

We badly missed Broony and the energy Stuart A brings to the table and I hope they are back soon- there are big tests ahead in October with the matches with Hibs and Aberdeen arguably being as important as the Bayern game

Hibs were good – the best Scottish team at Celtic Park in 2017 – and on play they just about deserved the win but dear-oh-dear what a terrible decision by Collum at rhe end. I am not going to say that there were any sinister motives as I read and hear too many friends of othet teams sayijng what a terrible ref he is but merely leave it that it was an even more obviously wrong decision than the Hill foul on Griff 6 months ago.

Is Nir B injured too? I went straight to a family get together after the game so have not picked up on much post match news

  19. Celtic founder Brother Walfrid is to be the subject of a detailed research project to raise awareness of his work to tackle poverty. The PhD study based at Stirling University will be undertaken by Post graduate student Michael Connolly. The 27 year old said ‘ As someone who has been brought up with a deep awareness regarding the significance of Celtic’s presence in Scotland I felt inspired to write a dissertation for my history degree on the origins of the club. It was then I began to understand the importance of Brother Walfrid not just to Celtic but to the wider Irish immigrant population he sought to support by creating the football club in Glasgow ‘.

  22. BIG-CUP-WINNERS on

Oh for goodness sake – didn’t take long for the paranoia to surface again.

Ok so there was a debatable, argue-able decision not given, late in our 2-2 defeat. I can understand why a UEFA official with years of experience in this sort of thing, didn’t give it. Remember yesterday’s official didn’t have the benefit of watching Ambrose drag Sinclair back on TV replays like all you lot in the stands.

Ambrose didn’t help either, his grip was just for a second or two making it even more difficult to spot in real time.

These things only raise the paranoia amongst you lot cause they affect Celtic’s results. Would you all be greeting if Celtic had won ?

Just like Rangers ( still the same club mind) 1-1 victory last season. You lot were greeting because the referee again failed to award a debatable spot kick.

It’s worth pointing out the official that day described himself as “comfortable” with the non award.

Also, East Kilbride officials, right back to Bobby Tait, have a steadfast track record In “Old firm” penalty decisions.

Madden’s performances are so highly thought of he was the man in the middle at the showpiece Scottish cup final. Only some noteable performances would have earned such reward.

After these things it’s as well, not to comment and forget about it. They inevitably even themselves out over 300 years or so.
