My Da rated Harry Hood as a goslscorer but George Connolly was the player he always spoke about, think he spoke about GC more as a regret, that he never played as much as he should have

Looks like I’m from your era. Harry Harry, Harry Hood was superb. I remember a goal he scored at Celtic Park, Clyde I think, and Jinky sent a cross over which looked about 6 feet off the ground. Harry leaped in the air and volleyed it into the net. whilst being parallel with the ground. One of the best goals I’ve ever seen in fact. Dixie was a great goal scorer, cup final against Hibs, fantastic.

    Two brilliant strikers

I spoke to Aidan today about sitting in the Bayern end. He is well up for it. Predictably.

I have not made my mind up yet. The wee guy is a warrior and I reckon Celtic are gonnae rock the Allianz arena.

I lost him @ the last Stone Roses gig Glasgow Green. Luckily enough his Brilliant Mum was there. :))

If Aidan wants it – I’m gonnae have to go for it.

Gareth Southgate is a puppet for the FA. He has no coaching nor managerial experience that qualifies him as a manager let alone an international one!

He was simply a clean pair of hands after big Sam was caught with his pants down, metaphorically speaking.

Scott Sinclair has now played more CL football than many in his squad, he’s the numpties’ numpty!

I’m not sure if Gareth even thinks he is a snob.

Reckon we are all guilty of saying something stupid.

Why in this day and age are peepil allowed to poison our streets and disrupt the normality of life ?

Priority 1 is get rid of the walk and stop Glasgow being an embarrassment to our society.

Both daughters going to Madrid for a city break shortly so I am looking for information on places to visit, sights to see and restaurants to eat in!

Nothing in the 65 euros starter bracket but good Spanish cuisine and wine and unlike CCB they don’t mind paying if it is good!

They are hoping to watch RM versus Eibar (better chance of tickets?) so how to get said tickets would be most welcome.

  9. A think sinky should take souffgates comments wi a pinch o salt.

They come from a fitba ” manager” who finished his “career” flogging effing pizzas.

They ripped the pish oot the useless fecker!!.

  10. Big Packy

Saw both players many times. Harry was the better all round player and probably did better in matches with Rangers and European ties but in his first two years could appear a bit timid- he’d one shocker in a cup tie against John Cushley where Jock was very critical of him, threatened to drop him, didn’t and Harry got the winner in the replay. The best uncapped player we ever had.

Dixie was ‘made’ by his biggest failure v Inter in 72 after which he went from being a player who did not look quite good enough to near legendary statys. Against a great Hibs team he was a good as Gerd Muller!

Harry was the better player but Dixie was one of my heroes.

  11. Sips,

Aidan is wee, Should we stay or should we go?

The wee man is bulking up.

Celtic are gonnae do a number on Bayern. I think that is obvious.

I know you will be there, crazy Celt. If we go – stay away from me. :))

  12. JIMBO67. thank goodness someone near to my age group. loved the both of them but harry was my favourite hail hail.

  13. How does Spain come back from this?

Almost as if they wanted to pour petrol on a lighted match.

Next set of CL games will be interesting.

EUFA banner regs and political slogans will be tested to the limit

They need Barca to make the semi finals.

debruyne scored a good goal against chelsea yesterday – a shot from 20 + yards – that was all it was, a good goal – in the papers and on the web it was a wonder goal – hyped to fupp – I watched through ten minutes of highlights just to see it -it’s not a wonder goal. It relates to what tet was saying the other day – the value for money the epl is, is poor.

  15. Big Packy

I neve said I did not love Harry too! An oddly under appreciated player these days- I was at a family get together last night and we talked of Paul Wilson and of Vic Davidson ( whom I had the privilege of meeting three months ago) and John Cushley ( a classmate of an uncle at Our Lady’s High). The Lions rightly are our most celebrated sons but all those players of the 65-74 era are still heroes to me.

  16. Tall about HH and DD.

Was JS allowed to buy one player per season?

    WW — 66/67?

    TC — 67/68?

Element of rebuilding the LL’s until the QSG matured.

Tp think BFDJ could have been part of the mix.

Big miss seems to have been PS staying a Hibbee for so long.

As noted GC was the ome most talked about and the one most.missed.

  17. Gareth who ??????????

I don’t think Scott Sinclair will be too upset by a classless nobody saying he’s not at England level.

He may have beeen worried if it was one of the genuine great England Managers of old like Alf Ramsey, Don Revie or the last great manager Bobby Robson; but not a nobody like Gareth Southgate who wouldn’t know a decent player if he tripped over him.

England will win SFA under Southgate, of that there is little doubt. If Scotty keeps playing the way he is capable of,his time will come with the new England ” boss”

People will continue to sing songs praising Scott Sinclair, Southgate will be remembered as just anothe dud.

If John Cushley was half a good footballer as an English teacher he must have been able to kick a ball

He was a great teacher, very strict, still couldn’t believe when I moaned about him giving me the belt/lines my father informed me he was a former Celtic player / Lisbon lion not on the field, he thought the world of my mum (Big Cush) my mum was a cleaner in saud school, John Cushley was a total gentleman

  19. MM – elaborate on DJ possibly joining Celtic.

    That is mega.

Or I might have picked you up wrong.
