NEW CQN PODCAST FROM CELTIC PARK ON SATURDAY
Kevin Graham is back with a new CQN Podcast from Saturday. He talks to supporters on the bus on the way to Parkhead, interviews John Paul Taylor outside the ground and captures the atmosphere and action inside the ground before getting some more supporters’ views on the bus home after an eventful afternoon at Celtic Park.
Apologies for a few sweary words in this podcast near the end.

As a wee daftie (just an older daftie) around 1986 when Mr Cushley was my teacher I could not believe he played for Celtic …. again, he was a great teacher but I always remember him (& Big Shuggy who taught me History) treated my mother… a pair of gentlemen, when you get older you appreciate the small things in life

Good Evening folks and it’s good to be back
143 teams entered LMS9, with 6 entrants failing to submit a team and potentially worse ( I think), 5 entrants selecting Sevco
78 entrants played it safe by selecting Man Utd in week 1. Will they pay later by playing a big gun so early in the competition or was it a safe and wise choice? Only time will tell.
So on to week 1, and congrats to the following 122 entrants who move successfully onto week 2

Can’t give advice about eateries as when I go we don’t spend much time eating but for drinks they should go to Vermut Casa Camacho and ask for a Yayo. Gin, vermouth and soda/lemonade, sounds yuk but is amazing and potent.
Just around the corner from that is the Triskel Tavern, home of the Madrid CSC which shows all the matches.
I’m heading there in two weeks to have a wee Lisbon reunion with a mate who lives there. Sounds like your daughters are going the week after.

CosyCornerBhoy: Reina Sofia art gallery over the Prado any day. Tapas market just outside Plaza Mayor. Can’t remember name. Atocha train station also. 3 day metro pass and ‘Madrid Card’ (for tourist attractions) well worth it. Lots of good places to eat, just depends on where you are.
Seem to remember that in the olde unreconstructed 70s, some referred to Mr Hood as “Handbag Harry”, as he seemed to jump out of tackles at times. However this was never in evidence when we played the olde deid Huns! Harry always stuck it to them!
Dixie was just a goalscorer and well worth the modest fee we paid for him, his solo effort in the cup final against Hibs was the stuff of legends!

A night like last night talking with my family about those we have known and lost , the values we share which seem to be under attack and even just that football club we support are worth more than all the gold in the world.
Bit sentimental but a melancholy time in my family these last few weeks.
