  1. Celtic were out thought and outplayed again.

I’m an Extremist, need to Look @ Broonie.

I have no idea, Broonie was almost our best player IMO.

    He is the Warrior.

I firmly Believe the Big Man runs the Tony Yeboah Shoa

  2. No more mr nice guy Lenny Bhoy.

El Hamed is right up there with Frimps as the best signing in the Summer.

Need these players on the pitch.

It looks like, to me anyway, Olivier was put in a shop window. if he wants out then best get a fee and get a Dude here that will run through a brick wall for CELTIC. F*ck getting the best possible profit. Just get things fast moving.

We need a Right mid and Striker of mega quality. First team Quality.

The Ivory Coast dude (defensive mid) playing in Israel looks like Energy this team needs. I’d gamble and take that dude before the Legend that is Wanyama. If we cannae get him Wanyama is a Good Backup. ;)

9 was always gonnae be very hard to get.

The Greatest ever got 9. A Legit 9 too.

  3. This ‘Rangers’ management and coaching staff were lifted in their entirety from Klopp’s Liverpool, with all that means in regard to their football philosophy, education. Liverpool under Klopp are European/World champions & on course for their first league title in thirty years. It’s taken 3/4 years for Klopp’s ‘Geggenpressing’ philosophy to yield results. Gerrard seems to be getting there slightly quicker at Ibrox.

Gerrard & his staff would have had only one brief when coming to Ibrox, and that was, find a way to beat Celtic.

There was to be some money provided, not tens of millions, therefore the emphasis was on developing a system & style of play to beat Celtic, a Gerrard Geggenpressing for Scotland. If successful, there would be no need to worry about others in Scotland. The European success has been an added bonus and showed the project to be on-track.

Celtic’s playing staff & style must have analysed in every way these last two years – the result was yesterday’s comprehensive victory following from an equally dominant performance at Hampden a few weeks ago. Let’s be in no doubt, Gerrard, his staff and players, now have Celtic’s measure. Looking at the fixture-list up to the ‘split’, they must be favourites for the title.

So what should Celtic’s response be? It is quite simple, go to school on ”Rangers’ . It won’t be easy, even Man City have been neutered in Klopp’s revolution.

Guggenptessing means we are not being allowed to play any sort of game, or, build up any sort of pattern. They strangle & smother us all over the park. Where we rely on individuals and an ‘off the cuff’ method of play, they are tightly coached, uniform in their game-plan and ruthless in their execution…..and that’s exactly what it was yesterday, an execution of Celtic’s playing style & methodology.

Over to you Desmond, Peter & Neil – our need is now ‘pressing’

  4. Definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result

I love Neil. But putting out Forrest wide right and Johnston wide left hands midfield to them

When I saw the team I thought what on earth is he doing Is no one saying to him

One thing. Never again can James Forrest Start v them

Too many times v them he is invisible

  5. SYDNEYTIM @ 6:13

I know you have no time for Forrest, and yes he was neutered yesterday – however our problems now much deeper than Jamsie. We’ve been sussed – a rethink is required urgently.

  6. Lenny backed his starting 11 to break their press and do the business. So did I, however the changes should have come seconds after Morelos missed that sitter 5 mins into the second half. It clearly was not working out there, waiting ten mins after we’re a goal down to bring in subs was far too late.

How Forrest remained on the pitch for two thirds of the game is a question only Neil can answer.

Forrest appears to have gone back into Ronny Delia mode, a good game followed by poor. Unwilling to do the hard yards and get back to help out his defence.

They are favourites, no doubt. Yesterday has absolutely floored this football club.

  7. McNut 100% agree Forrest is a sort of striker as we only have one and his return abs support is poor

He is a sort of right midfield. But he could not tackle a fish supper and his marking is useless

So yes. He is making up for lack of investment

20 times taken off this season. Most of them as as nothing is happening on the right

Yes a severe lack of investment in quality

50-60m sitting in bank keeping PL large bonus intact

EL is chicken feed. The CL is where the real money is and Peter lawwell has failed manger after manger Not good enough

  8. An Dun. Agreee Forrest is not good enough at present to start every week

Comments about if someone was in a fight , Forrest is last person to ask to help

    Big investment needed now

Striker and right midfielder to go 442

Interesting points you make , and then …………..

With all your and your family`s wide experience with playing , running and coaching football teams , you seriously feel that :

” The ball is back in your court Peter, your poor choices and management on the playing side has created this need. ”

Who did Peter choose , apart perhaps from playing a part in the choosing of Lennie ?

What part did Peter play in the ” management on the playing side “.

The needle still stuck on the perennial fall guy at every reversal of our fortunes.

No credit for success . Only criticism , unwarranted imho , for a reversal.

    ………………………………………………..

ST – did you make your reservations known before the game?

    For All to witness?

Forrest had a shocker, of that there is no doubt. I was there and It was not nice to watch that dignified vermin win. Morelos is an embarrassment to fitba with his crap. How he escaped so long without being booked defied logic.

James needs real competition for his position – I’d be delighted if we smash our transfer record fee for a right winger/midfielder and James gets Better.

Lenny needs to keep a distance from the players I reckon and that isnae his style. He needs to Howevaaaah. IMO.

    Time for sleep.

  11. I realise that the only stat that really matters is that Sevco won 2-1 but the other stats do not support the view that we were outclassed, outplayed, outfought or even out of form .

They were the better side in the Leaue Cup Final. I am far from convinced the same can be said of yesterday`s game.

    Off to the golf.

  12. MCNUT – Every great team has a system that other coaches then try to copy. But no system is full proof. Mediocre players cannot play like Liverpool. Passes will go astray, chances will be missed, fouls will be committed when up against better players with faster feet.

We have been relying on the latter. We have over last few games against them believed that their system could be countered by quick passing from back to front and OE’s quality in front of goal. Our system failed badly in LCF and yesterday because they have got stronger and our ball players have all gone missing.

Remember, Gerrard has twice chosen to sit off us and being punished for it. He feared our quality. When they did that we made them look piss poor.

Question is, do we fight fire with fire and change our whole set up or do we fight it with quality?

    No easy fix.

HOT SMOKED on 30TH DECEMBER 2019 8:03 AM

    Agreed.

We lost tactically , but in the last ten minutes we could easily have achieved a draw .Had we done so , the current and understandable negativity would not have reached the same level.

It`s because we lost to Rangers.

We have not become a lousy team overnight .

  14. Ah well, off to work I go.

    One question. Just for balance.

I never got to see Sky’s goal line view of the penalty that was saved. Did I miss it?

In the LC final we saw replay after replay of Forster’s foot leaving the line, and the subsequent SMSM outcry.

With all of Sky’s cameras and technology I can only remember seeing one view.

Can anyone clarify this for me?

Yes, Ryan should score but would like to know keepers positioning when kick taken. Thx.

  15. Macjay Wiry regards to Peter lawwell

    And his contribution to yesterday

    1. Peter lawwell signed boli boli Awefull player

    2. We have now a number of times had to play a wee boy in Johnston v them due to our lack of investment in left hand side midfield players

    3. Peter lawwell did not release the required funds for a striker , Neil said after our 2nd signing of transfer window that there was not much left in the pot Ended up with more than 60m in bank at end of window

  16. It doesn’t feel any better this morning.

Reality is that Huns have a good team, not sure about our Manager & players but ghuys on here have been underestimating them for months.

I posted last night on this but I’ll keep it short played 37 competitive games in Europe & Scotland this year lost 3.

One last second goal in injury time away to Young Boys, Two. League Cup Final where they were clearly the better team & thirdly one emphatic defeat when we beat them at Ibrox

That is impressive stuff. Hopefully they will hit a bad patch & drop a few points but that is not guaranteed.

We have a major battle on our hands to win this Title.

Can we do it, of course we can but it won’t be easy. Look our next 6 League games and their next 7.

We will do very well if we are just a point behind when they are done .

The transfer window is huge, new signings won’t guarantee us the Title but it will greatly increase our chances.

No panty wetting here just a realistic appraisal of the battle ahead.

    COYBIG.

    ==============================================================

    Syd.

Are you seriously suggesting that the P.L. bears sole responsibility for the signing of Boli ?

aka that Lennie is P.L.`s poodle ?

Mind you , Boli was imho poor yesterday. At times a liability .

  18. macjay1 for Neil Lennon on

    Syd.

Lennie has specifically and repeatedly pointed to his harmonious and effective working relationship with P.L.

    Do you believe Lennie ?

  19. Good morning CQN from a surprisingly hangover free Garngad

Well that was a disaster yesterday. We all know they have improved a little bit but my goodness how bad have we been against them in the last 2 games.

    Or have we??

I still think they got their tactics right yesterday by starving Eddie of a lot of service, then any service he did get he fluffed.

Stats – show we had more of the ball- so feck.

Why oh why did Eddie not take the Pen?

They are a different animal this season there is no doubt, they look fitter and hungrier than we do.

There is still a long way to go to May though.

We can introduce some fresh blood hopefully in this transfer window that will give us a kick up the backside.

    HH

    D. :)

  20. Macjay. We did not have a chief scout

Neil admitted being had not seen boli boli play

After signing boli boli said he had not spoken to

    The manager

He was signed so peter could sell KT and say we had a replacement

Neil left last time because peter would not invest in the team

Neil was unemployed when I saw him in tennents bar In west end last year

Neil would have bitten PL hand to get back to Celtic

He did and of course he has to have peters man JK as assistant. JK has zero experience at top level with tactics

Peter lawell earned 3.45m pounds last year

Our football department is not set up to spend the 60m available as our football department is peter lawell He is gambling on the ten

  21. I would love a really top class striker of course.

However I believe EVERYTHING we need to do until possibly the next old firm game at parkhead post slip is within our ranks already.

    win almost every league game…..yes

    win at ibrox….yes

get through to the next round or two of europa….yes

Lennon has built a great squad who have had a wee wobble or indeed come up against a rangers team organised and hungry.

We are not a bad team overnight.

And I am sick to death of the mud that is getting thrown at James Forrest.

    Was he poor?..yes

Does he deserve to be dropped now and then..yes

But he has been incredibly effective and productive for us.

He is a fantastic wee player.

On yesterdays showing he was no worse than christie or french eddy

Perhaps they need some competition too.

Lennon WILL sort out the puzzle in my view.

He will pull us together and have us going to ibrox in march on a mission which we will complete.

  22. The morning after …

Thankfully woke up still a Tim

A few weeks to get this result behind us, but am pretty confident we will, I think we are on 27 pages of good thread and it is statistically always busy after a defeat so get your votes in for Jobo’s top 3 players (or even the 3 least worst :-) no point in only voting when we are beating teams like the Italian super cup holders Lazio home & away

Off to work with a smile on my face, never celebrate winning if you can’t handle the odd defeat

    Hail Hail

    Neil Lennon CSC

  23. Back in May I was not convinced that NL was the man for the job.

Yesterday when the team was announced I couldn’t believe the formation. Nothing was learned from the cup final. To make matters worse, it took him until the 62nd minute to change it. Then to throw Griffiths on, who was deemed not good enough to get a place on the bench in cup final . Well it just baffles me.

Still don’t think he’s the man for the job I’m afraid

  24. Lazy dynamite Against them it’s going to be trench warfare. No more chickens v them. So no Forrest. No Johnston. End of

Neil admitted being had not seen boli boli play

After signing boli boli said he had not spoken to the manager .

    ————————————————————————————————————-

I remember nothing of the claims you make.

Can you provide some evidence please.

You are suggesting that P.L. scouted Boli and signed him with no contribution from any other Celtic functionary.

Sorry , mate. Beggars belief that P.L. , who does what the Board tells him to do , went out and independently signed Boli .

Did P.L. choose to play Boli or J.F. yesterday ?

    Mate.

    Please .

  27. We started Ntcham at Tynecastle and were equally as hopeless for the first thirty mins while Hearts pressed us up the field before they tired and imploded. We just can’t cope with it.

Neil needs a strategy for dealing with a press. A straight player swap is not the answer.

Our run of away games should hold no fear but we can not have Elyounissi and El Hamed injured by the time Ibrox comes. Neil has said all season the league is the priority – he now has to demonstrate that with rotating for the EL and SC in order to ensure we have our top players available for these away league games.

  28. I do not do the ‘hard fixtures’ bit.

I have long since said that outwith the derby matches every league fixture in scotland is as winnable as the next.

Be it at home to ross county or away to aberdeen.

That does not mean i think points cant be dropped.

Of course they can and will.

I just believe it is as likely to happen in a stuffy home game against a parked bus of a bottom six team as a ‘tough’ away fixture against a top six team.

It also worth pointing out that getting over the line in championships when you have not done it for some time can be very very difficult.

The huge sense of expectation and pressure on the manky mob now will be all consuming.

I expect them to drop points

  29. Lazy dynamite. I watch hibs game from Lisbon lions Stand. Forrest awefull. Taken off
