  1. Mikey Johnston is 20 yrs of age, he is talented & has pace. At the moment he doesn’t have physical strength and is not suited to the trench warfare that the Huns bring to the game.

However to write him off at this stage of his career is nonsensical.

While everyone are concentrating on our own deficiencies which I understand, we need to acknowledge the transformation in the Huns.

They have played 14 Europa games & only lost once. That was an injury time winner away to Young Boys,

They have played 19 League games & lost only once to us.

They have played 4 Betfred Cup games & were bloody unlucky to lose to us in the Final.

I hate to admit it they are bloody impressive statistics,

  2. Watched a lot of JF….he has a talent to run into congested space cutting off passing options….but no-one was taking up the space made…making Frimpong look ineffective….

Sorry…Lenny and our set-up was wrong today

  3. Napoleon wiz Austrian….made you look lol

I would not worry about GFTB and his ‘clutch’ of pals on here. They like to call anyone with a measured point of view a “hun”, or, a troll, or something else.

They do it to me, they think they are ‘wide bhoys’, all ‘Mr Celtics’ – know better than everyone else & are better than everyone else LOL- basically they are bullies, and uniformed ones at that.

They think the site is their own personal domain and shout down anyone who disagrees with them.

Apart from Celtic I know that I have nothing whatsoever in common with them – that contents me.

Hmmm…..sSo you’re allegedly from “Bally murphy”? (sic). ……..it’s all one word, so my suspicions are already aroused. .

Here is a test to judge your credentials.

Name me one famous person from Ballymurphy (proper spelling) , who died there, in the past 7/8 weeks.

Clue: More famous than Gay Byrne.

For a “new” poster and long term lurker you certainly don’t like a lot of posters on here …

Your wee insecurity complex is laughable … you attack some posters then cry wolf … sounds (writes) familiar

The “gang” are after you ?? Bullshit..

But if it suits your wee agenda batter in, the blog needs all opinions even yours

I found it surprising as a “new” poster within a few days your asking people to not respond or scroll by …

  8. Just a one off reference from me ,In relation to an earlier post from Danso saying he was from bally murphy. Never seen anyone never mind a native call it that. It is of course Ballymurphy.

No doubt he will claim a typo error but regardless of his bally murphy gaffe, he only ever comes on when we have a bad result, & frankly that in itself pisses me off, so no interest in his posts.

Bed time, wake up tomorrow and still a handsome tim, now you can’t say that about any Huns😂😂😂

  10. Dunshanbe, Your post was made 9 minutes before mine, now I was interrupted OK but it does show just how bloody slow I am on the keyboard.

Think it’s time for bed, hate the feeling first thing when you wake after a bad result, but still happy to be a Tim.

  11. Corkcelt – good post. I don’t think it was trench warfare today though. That, in my mind, makes it sound like we were up against a big, physical dirty team. We were not. There was hardly a bad tackle in the game. They had the better players, better ball retention, better movement, better passing, better defending . . . They clearly are well drilled and they have a coach who is no longer scared to come to CP and take us on.

During the game I posted on here that our first shot on goal was the penalty. How bad is that? 35 mins at home in front of a full house and we didn’t make s meaningful attack for nearly 40 mins?

Only Brown would have got in to a combined team of the day today. In the LCF that honor would have gone to Forster. Yet some fans believe we have a vastly superior squad of players.

    That ship has sailed.

  12. PPB 10.56pm

Can I add when you wake up tomorrow Neil Lennon’s Celtic will still be top of the league, league cup in the trophy room and a wee tie against FC Copenhagen in February to possibly reach the last 16 of the Europa League

Am sure previous Celtic teams have worse starts of a New Year in our history

  13. Just watched our manager’s post-game interview. “The first half hour, we were standoffish – I don’t know why.” WTF? Then who does know? Why wasn’t something done about it? If something was done, why was there no response?

I, for one, am pretty tired of watching us ‘play our way into a game.’ There are three points to be won, every game, so we should be exhibiting urgency right from the first whistle. Most games, we look as if we are on Benadryl for about 30 minutes, including our goalkeeper slowly ambling about, taking an age to put the ball back into play. It’s like a soporific, killing motivation. But when say, Hamilton, equalize with 2 minute to go, suddenly we are all action. It would be ice to see that in the first two minutes, rather than the last two.

  14. We’re in trouble, no doubt. It can not be ignored after today. Today could very well be their 1998 new year derby win.

  15. Inquit 11.10pm

Not sure what Benadryl is …

But I think we are still top of the league without it … or is your enjoyment of Celtic just to win every single game forever ?

Until today our team had 100% home record … we lost it today … we can regroup in a few weeks

  16. GFTB

Sorry, but you are clinging to two delusions. The Huns have a home banker against Ross County in hand. Do you seriously believe they will lose it?

Secondly, looking back at previous Celtic teams, regardless how badly off they were at year’s end, will not help us one jot in 2002. We need to look forwards, not backwards. The triple treble was fantastic. It won’t help us win title number nine. Hail, hail.

  17. I’m scared, but I’ve always been scared……………even with Martin….and Henke.

    Ignore the rubbish?

    Never?

    I only look daft.

  18. One other point on Sevco today, to follow on from previous

Their fans did Not show any respect to a deceased Celtic player today

Wonder what media will make of that and their 780 members

    Their team didn’t either

No black arm bands for them, bet that us also ignored

    Different Shit, same flies

  19. Spot on. I said yesterday we could have been 3-4 down in first 20 mins at Tynecastle and also at LCF. I remember the days in the not so distant pass when we started games with a blitz of attacking intent. Now we sleep walk into games, slowly and reluctantly moving up through the gears and doing just enough to scrape wins.

At the start of this season we looked like we were going to really go for it but that kind of passion and drive has dried up.

  20. glendalystonsils on

    AN DUN

Yes it could . Difference from 1998 being that we are in a stronger position now to do something about it .

Will we make the massive effort required?

  21. Inquit 11.21pm

I could do with some of that Benadryl (when I was younger) drugs are for mugs

    They are 2pts behind … that’s a fact

If you are willing to accept Ross County at Ibrox is a guaranteed 3pts them you should use the same logic that the current champions kick on after their January break … or does that not suit your view … I would expect the Huns to beat Ross County at home but they still have to do it…. I would also expect the current champions to do what they do after the winter break and the Euro games are over until mid February … you canny give the Huns 3pts while ignoring what the Champions do year in year out in Jan/Feb/Mar/Apr/May

  22. glendalystonsils on

It is quite possible Sevco may drop other points before they catch up that game in hand . We must pull out all the stops not to . We are in for a bumpy ride.

  23. GFTB

I didn’t answer your question. “Is my enjoyment of Celtic just to win every single game forever?”

The answer is no, but I do expect us to show some fight, some spirit, some ambition against our deadliest rivals at home in a six pointer, instead of pussyfooting about, taking 35 minute to have an attempt at goal, and that a poorly taken penalty by someone who also missed the last one he took.

We were shockingly poor today. Apart from flashes from Odsonne, I can’t remember one incident of pure skill from any Celtic player. Taken together with our LCF performance and the last few league games, scraping by the likes of St. Mirren and Hamilton, it dos not augur well for 2020.
