  1. Hundreds of rangers flags still up in Renfrew. Hingers on hinging about.

Guess who the polis are giving a lecture to next to the chapel.

    3 Bhoys in Celtic gear.

  2. I know I am in the minority , but I would love MOn back as DOF or manager.

He would sign the right type of player and sort out the Huns in no time.

    TT

  3. Our best performance against them for some time. The tactics were good, we created plenty and restricted them to few chances.

I’m not sure how Kennedy stops Kenny from punting the ball out for a corner and then losing his man, or how he makes Eddy stick the ball in the net

We did draw and we had by far the better of the game, hardly a hanging offence.

    Kennedy did well today.

  4. where have we gone wrong , next:

thinking that eddy can play the lonesome striker , he doesn’t have the killer instinct to score goals too nicey nicey , but would be great in a 5 aside team.

The plc have blown it. Spectacularly. They don’t have a plan for next season, other than to screw you out of your money with more false hope.

And we’re invited to congratulate them on their business acumen for this con-job at our expense.

Not another thin dime from me until they stop taking and give something back.

Edouard has 15 goals in 10 games playing as the only striker for the France u21s

  7. 2 Things John Kennedy can forget about being the manager off Celtic the other one is Kenny at best average full back not willing to take on another player, again 2 strikers on the bench and hey presto what does Kennedy do brings on rogic, that alone tells me he isn’t up to being the next manager,Hopefully and very soon we will have a new manager in one that appeals to most fans ,Does the right thing and does a massavive clear out,

  8. for me Eduard has not been booted up the arse often enough – he has great potential but is careless in possession, selfish too often (less so today) and doesn’t show enough desire in certain situations.

If he wants to play at a higher level he would be slaughtered by a coach for these issues.

We don’t have the personnel available to dominate the box! PERIOD! the best coaches in the world EVER couldn’t solve our issues at the back – its simply down to recruitment ! #! priority for next season – goal keeper and center backs .

Kennedy was blind to Ryan christie today – he should have been taken off at half time and replace with forrest or rogic – his form since crying for Scotland has been woeful and I mean woeful! its not his fault Lennon nor Kennedy can see that , in fact the reason they can’t see that could be the reason his standards have dropped.

Slavia Prague coach midweek at Poundland, 1 goal up,55 minutes he puts 3 subs on,that’s the difference in using subs positively

  10. The Class of 67 on

Give Sleekit Gollum a break – he knew if he awarded a penalty he’d have to issue a red card – he didn’t want to see his huns get beat by a cricket score

  11. CELTIC40ME on 21ST MARCH 2021 4:49 PM

Agreed on Ajer and he has something about him. Unfortunately, he has probably hit a ceiling in the SPFL and if he is to ever develop into a top-class player he probably needs to leave.

I don’t think he’d go straight to a top club but maybe a “stepping stone” like Wanyama and Van Dijk to continue his development.

  12. TINYTIM on 21ST MARCH 2021 4:53 PM

MoN will always hold a place in my heart but he’s done nothing at club level for years. His time at Nottingham Forest was a disaster and he seems like yesterday’s man. We need to be moving on both on and off the pitch not looking backward.

Good value as a pundit though but he pretty much ruled out a return live on TV today.

  13. That was our best chance to remove their unbeaten in the league record and we fizzled out.

It was, by and large, a decent performance and we had the better chances but…… bottom line- it was a draw and that counts as a failurewhen set against wat we needed. Unless we get them in the SC, we will have one last chance to dent their confidece at Ibrox. At the moment, I would not put money on us to do so.

Both Scott Brown and John Kennedy will have to leave CP to further their coaching careers. If they do well, they can be reconsidered, but next season the supporters will demand a fresh face untainted by the loss of the 10.

  14. GEEBEE1978 on 21ST MARCH 2021 5:14 PM

Agreed, German clubs particularly seem keen on young British-based talent at the moment, although since Brexit there might be a premium in the EPL on players who qualify under the new transfer rules.

  15. That’s twice in a row we’ve outplayed the greatest team in Europe……….mcgregor was lucky today………yes we’re lacking presence….a severe lack of physicality in all areas …..the huns were there for the taking but no surprises we couldn’t capitalise.

  16. VINNIETHEDOG on 21ST MARCH 2021 5:47 PM

Agreed, I think we’ve actually played quite well against them in the last two games. However, after they outplayed us but we beat them in the League Cup final, most people were of the opinion that it’s the result that matters and the fact they couldn’t beat us when we played badly was a good sign.

There was quite a bit to be happy about with today’s performance but after a midweek European game, they were there for the taking today. The longer we go without beating them, there more it gets into our heads and becomes psychological.

  17. In my experience of watching football, results do not always reflect the performances of the teams involved.

In my experience of listening/reading about football, results nearly always determine the opinions of those who have watched the game.

  18. geebee1978 on 21st March 2021 5:54 pm

    ——–

The huns haven’t really needed to win the last 2 games, so the fact we couldn’t beat them is a worry, especially today when we had nothing lose and should’ve went out there with all guns blazing.

But maybe that was us with all guns blazing.

We have too much to fix in just one summer.

    Not on Twitter(too old)

Daughter sent me a picture of a lot of hun flags and butcher’s aprons laid out on Saucel hil by the North Bank aggro who took them down from streets in paisley. Saying they are going burn them

  20. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

Not bad today but not great either.

Lack of proper coaching there for all to see.

I rarely watch Sevco, and have a missed a few of our games against them recently, so today was a bit of an eye opener.

    They are fit and organised.

They are super confident and they how to milk fouls.

    And they are very average.

Attack to defence transition – one trick pony.

They simply show the opposition down one side and diagonally fade their whole team across.

Defence to attack transition. Just one trick involving five guys.

Straight line pass up the middle to either short or long recipient with two supporting players going narrow ( from wide ) to take second ball.

A moderately decent coach will drill us properly and decipher their tactics after just one video analysis session.

    Our trajectory is upwards.

They’ve reached their zenith and are heading the other way.

    Hail hail

  21. Huge reform needed — more than 1997 / 2005 / 2010.

JK is probably more limited as a coach than NL — he is that bad.

The team phoned it in against a very weak and limited TFOD2 squad.

Nothing game played out at a canter.

DT — he needed to be taken off for his own good.

Really poor performance in a sea of half ersed-ness.

You have to ask why the game meant so little to the team.

Finally AW is a disgrace to his parents / family / town / friends / associates.

Spouting the SKY tropes one after the other — no questions asked.

I see some are repeating the same stuff JF blogger is demanding re the coaching team. Thing is just like his complete lack of understanding of business, he also has very little credible knowledge of football, Christ he’s barely a Celtic supporter.

John Kennedy has been at Celtic largely through 9 in a row. Maybe not ready yet for management but he’s simply doing what was asked to do, interim manager.

    * When MON arrived out went Kenny even though he had won a trophy in his short term as acting manager and in came John Robertson, his former Nottingham Forest team-mate who was also his assistant at Wycombe, Norwich and Leicester, and Steve Walford, his Head Coach at Carrow Road and Filbert Street.

He also retained Tommy Burns as coach; TB had only arrived as assistant manager tae Kenny a few months before, MON in his wisdom kept him on not just for his coaching ability but also his knowledge and love of the club.

In that same vein Jock didnae pick his backroom staff either, in fact you could say Sean was forced upon him. Bob Rooney and Alec Boden were already there and he did bring in Wullie Fernie but that was 2 year after he himself was appointed.

WTT was the same, he promoted Mudro from the reserve coaching position replacing him with Tom McAdam, 2 men not originally Celtic minded but knew what the club was about.

There should be no surprise if a role is found for big John.

  23. !!Bada Bing!! on

TT- Kennedy needs to leave and try and get away from the Celtic safety blanket, if he’s any good he might be asked back,I would let Scott Brown do his badges in a player coach role, mainly with the youths.HH

  24. Best player on the park was laxalt he has flaws.but the boy is quality.greg taylor couldn’t leave his high tops sign him sellicxx

And, FWIW, today’s penalty decision was history repeating itself.

Collum’s view of the incident was completely blocked by a Sevco player.

So he went with his gut.

Similar to many years ago, Kirk (the bigot) Broadfoot took a spectacular dive in our box.

Collum had turned his back to avoid a ricocheting ball and completely missed what happened.

But awarded Oldco a penalty nonetheless.

Must have gone with his gut then too.

  27. If Tierney had stayed, we would hve won the 10. Discuss; 1 hour 45 mins. Write in the margins. Dream on.

  28. Repeating myself here

Players needed or to be moved on

    1) Goalkeeper – will we sell Barkas at huge loss ? Bain is a poor back up at best

    2) Right back – Kenny will go back to Everton, Ralston not making it, so let him move on to get games

Welsh is allegedly a right back, will O’Connell be played there ?

    New right back

    3) Laxalt will return to Italy, Boli can be sold, Taylor back up at best

Probably a year to early for young Hjelde, leave him on loan for another season

    Left back needed

    4) try to keep Ajer – captain material, sign Gallagher as back up only ??

Keep Welsh and continue to develop as above, cover for Ajer or right back,

5 Duffy loan to end, let Bitton move on, Hendry being sold

Jullien allegedly one of the other French players angling for a move ?

Sign 2 new Centre halfs, big powerful players – please, that can challenge

    6/7/8 Midfield

    Ntcham, Christie, can go

What do we do with Shved ? Do we sell McGregor ? Not sure Henderson is going to make it

Give Brown a 1 year extension- need him in dressing room

We have Turnbull and Soro, with Robertson, Mcinroy & Connell to bolster squad and give a chance to

Sign Someone like Lewis Ferguson for SPFL, sign another 2 if McGregor is sold

    9/10/11 front line

Odsonne will go, Will Ajeti make it ? Sell at loss, Griffiths has now been missing best part of 3 seasons – time to bite bullet and move him on. Let Klimala move on loan to develop

Will Bayo get a chance ? Or be moved on ?

    At least 2 new forwards

Elyanousi will go back to Southampton – my view Rogic wanted to go in summer, move him on now ( cannot get 90 mins from him in the SPFL)

I like Johnston- but agree needs bulking up as to light weight ?

We need 2 new players for No 10 & 11

One to push James Forrest on right side

    Another for left side

Huge amount of work to get on with

We have Shaw coming in, and reportable interested in Hibs young right back ???

We should have signed Hickey as well

Let’s hope the new DOF is announced tomorrow and gets started ASAP

PS – let’s not forget a brand new coaching team, set up

    And Not PL’s pals

    Hail Hail

  29. We had the beating of them today – we had the opportunities – the players couldn’t take them.

This is the story of the season – a season where the squad was kept intact & £20m of permanent & temporary transfers added.

There was no one blaming the board at the start of the season. This season’s collapse is down to the football department – pure & simple!

Neil Lennon gone, a queue of players waiting to leave – now is time for DD, the board & old/new CEO to step-up and make wide-ranging changes. A willingness to go into debt is THE key consideration.

There is no fantastic array of talent in the Ibrox squad, however they play as a team & are well coached. Of course it should be no surprise – Maribor, Malmo, Copenhagen, AEK, Ferencvaros & Sparta were similar type opponents over the last few years.

This season our highly-paid squad were unable to beat the likes of Livingston, Ross County, St Mirren, St Johnstone & Kilmarnock….that’s why the gap is TWENTY POINTS.

  30. I’m on P14 of comments and playing catch up. We should have beaten them by a few today and like everyone else I’m gutted. Their fans will be concerned. That’s two games in a row we’re the ‘rubbish Sellick’ have outplayed them. Just a point about Christie. I agree he did very little today BUT did you see his sublime pass into the box to Elyounoussi in the 1st half and his exquisite through ball to Turnbull in the second. Those were two match-winning assists. Through no fault of his own he wasn’t our hero today.
