  1. As much as I think Collum is an incompetent, he and the bent Scottish referees are not the reason why we find ourselves where we are today. It is solely down to self immolation and the spark was provided by the PLC.

We should have won the last two games against sevco but as usual lack of scoring and the inability to defend cost us both games, at least we took one of our chances today. If it wasn’t for a mistake by, IMO, a very poor full back then we would have won the game 1-0, but we didn’t. This was not Collum’s fault it was ours.

Now there is absolutely no reason to continue with the John Kennedy, failed experiment, as interim manager. Get the proper management team in now – we still have a cup to defend and season 2021/2022 to prepare for.

Your posts aren’t unappreciated. They’re probably a bit too well-considered and balanced to get a response so soon after a derby game but that doesn’t mean some of us don’t read and appreciate them.

Cheers for that comment. I post because I enjoy it so it is nice that someone else sees something worthwhile in them! Even if itvis unadulterated nonsense at times 😄

  3. Newco are not good. They have achieved because the refs have gone for it this season and give them a card headstart in every game – why aren’t we beating these teams we dominate – confidence/balance?/ motivation

  4. They said smile things can’t get any worse. So I smiled and they did. 😑

I know it has been a really bad football season when the only 2(?) games of football I have enjoyed this season were Thursday night and the first 45 minutes of the cup final and the penalty shootout.

  5. PALOTS,

You’re probably right in your assessment but I was convinced when Collum denied us that stonewaller, that we wouldn’t be allowed to win the game. He’s not simply incompetent, he is a cheat. He knows that in Scotland, if he is to continue in his chosen career in football, that he has to favour the deid team against us every sinlge time. He has done it from his first game.

Bonnar, while maybe a bice bloke, knows that only too well too. If you ever have the misfortune to hear him commentating, you will quickly realise he is not impartial when referring to Celtic. I bet he either ignored the penalty or said it wasn’t.

This is how things have always been in Scotland. Too many vested interests to change matters. The blue pound is all that matters and that means pandering to the deid team’s follow followers, many of whom are, of course, in the refereeing fraternity.

Agreed – and let’s not forget, the cup final was technically last season. Doesn’t leave much :(

  7. The referees have played their part this season just like what they will do next season. Nothing will change.

  8. Jackie mac- i think it starts with being a team that isn’t confident in kerping clean sheets. That leads to more anxiousness in general play.

More simply too many players have not been at their best and for the bulk of the season I don’t think they believed in the manager enough if at all

I think when we look back on this season we will have to accept that we were lacking in a bitbof humility. That crept in to the playing staff in my opinion. Living off past achievements.

And we did not recruit well in key positions

All factors and I think all combine to lead us to where we are today. Capable but just not capitalising because that little bit of belief has been drained from the team. It is hard to get it back. Hopefully fresh eyes in the football department will reset us and get us going again quickly

What’s happened to us ? I can’t put my finger on it !”

In spite of the many simple solutions which have been offered in attempts to answer that question,I feel that the reality is that many things combined which culminated in the seemingly inexplicable loss of form which was our lot.

  10. Bournesouprecipe. Is that the same Jamiese who got 3 out of ten in lcf and 2 out of ten at Celtic park game in 2019. I will tell the jokes

  11. !!Bada Bing!! on

    Stolen from Twitter

    So match ended 1 -1 or 55 – 55 if your a hun.

    🤣

  12. Can you Carfin bhoys tell us what it is about Collum? He does not see a blatant penalty and possibly one other hand ball. He is either incompetent or he needs the money for European games. Perhaps looking to Dallas to keep him in that special group running round Europe making money. How does he get time off School for those freebies?

What I do not understand is how he can teach RE and have no moral courage. Maybe he is just incompetent.

It could have all been different without a competent ref and if Kenny had not made that idiotic pass back. That ball could have gone anywhere in the ground and not caused the trouble his pass back did. But even that does not forgive the poor defending. Every time we got a corner no one took up the back post position. Incidentally the one who always does is Griff,

  13. I have to say in John Kennedy’s defence, alot of us wondered about his ability as a coach. I think he has demonstrated that he does have something about him in that regard. He has a place at the club but I don’t think it is as manager.

My gut tells me he will be away if a new manager us coming with their own staff. He won’t accept youth coaching or lesser role than he has been in, but I’m not sure you can look at his contribution since Neil left and do anything other than admire how he has held things together.

The idea that he simply has no place at al at the club is risible.

  14. I wonder how much was chopped off the wages of the first team due to this pandemic, then bringing in loan players from the Premier league Serie A and paying them full whack might be the issue as well as the we want away group who Ntcham apart are still there, cant wait for this to be all over this season and hope we again become a football team first of all next season.

  15. WESTCRAIGS on 21ST MARCH 2021 3:29 PM

The referees have played their part this season just like what they will do next season. Nothing will change.

WESTCRAIGS, if it is correct that next season’s champions go straight in to the Champions League group stages, with the £30/40m pretty much guaranteed, can you imagine how the MIBs will take up that challenge. If we think they have been bent this season I would expect things to be much, much worse next season!

  16. Good coaches improve players. Poor coaches don’t.

There has been an exodus of youth players recently and I think there will be an exodus of first team squad players as well.

All down to the coaching staff.

    Who appointed the coaching staff?

  17. Connaire

“what profits a man” he is happy to do what he does. Eucharistic minister into the bargain.

  18. I think we all know this is a poor Celtic team at present but this game changed course when the penalty was denied

2-0 and we win that game comfortably

  19. John Kennedy was a u19 coach and then 4th or 5th coach under BR

Our most important season in 20 years and only reason he was assistant to NL was because he was Peter lawells spy

  20. On the refs – two things we need to do. 1. Be much better than we are now

    2. Be much more vocal on it as a club and a team. It won’t stop it but it will temper some of it. You have to make it a talking point. You have to let them know it will be challenged

  21. The Blogger Formerly Known As GM on

I reckon it must be Christie’s old man who has filled his head with nonsense that he could play at a ‘higher level when he’s not good enough to play for Celtic.

I’m so glad he didn’t sign a contact extension and should be punted in the summer as a matter of priority.

  22. itscalledthemalvinas on

    Bada Bing !

Belter,I will be sticking that one to the huns in work tomorrow !

  23. We have scored the princely number of 3 goals in the last 5 games, 7.5 hours or 450 minutes of football. 1 goal per two and a half hours. We are quite simply punchless. Just watched West Ham and Moyes equal that total in 17 minutes.
