Apols if already asked/answered but did we have any good banners at Hampden today to wind up the newcomer fans?

    ———————

I assume no banners were allowed into the shitehole

Though hate to say it but on TV we hardly heard the Celtic fans, I’ll put that down to all of them being glory hunters :O)

  2. Happy as a Pig in Shit to see the Huns in the shit, Hope it is a long time until we have to lower ourselves to play them again. We are the Tims

  3. Great result for Celtic today, despite the trying conditions. Pitch was a disgrace, also the referee, if he’s the No1 ref in Scotland, I Would rather have Madden, proper funny referee replace u with an a and it would be more the truth, he was one.

  4. Celticrollercoaster supporting Shay, our bhoy wonder along the way on

    Excruciating game.

Laughable pitch. Crap stadium. Referee was a joke of course. Tims sounded muted. Sectarian songs aplenty. Polish friend almost fell asleep.

Must have been the company :-)

  5. The Ghood will prevail on

Delighted with the win, don’t buy this crapola that we should somehow be disappointed at not scoring a barrel-load. Can’t fault one Celtic performance apart from perhaps Stokes, who I don’t think is suited to that role. Broonie outstanding.

Pitch was a disgrace as was Thomson. To be honest the ref and the bile from the sevco support (which won’t be mentioned by the media – Pat Nevin?) just reminds me how much I don’t miss playing any team out of Ibrox.

    Well done Ronny.

Hopefully the score not being a cricket will keep A&E relatively quiet tonight.

Game done, now on to the proper stuff.

Need to bring in some quality, if we’ve any chance of upsetting Inter.

    HH!

  8. Daily R@ng£r forgetting the party line ??

It was a comfortable victory for Ronny Deila’s side in the first meeting between the teams in almost three years since the Ibrox club re-emerged in the bottom tier of Scottish football following administration and liquidation.

Stroll in the park today, with only a dreadful playing surface and inexplicable refereeing keeping the score down. Craig Gordon must be wondering what all the fuss was about.

Right, important stuff now – who have we signed ??

  9. Raman Bhardwaj@STVRaman · 1m 1 minute ago

Just spoke to Kris Commons – says he’s close to signing a new deal. Progress has been made, so looks like a 2 year deal #celtic

  10. The SFA’s Celtic Rule explained :

THE RULE: Any Celtic player who deliberately leaves the field of play without the referee’s permission or puts his hands behind his ears after scoring will receive a yellow card. To observe this rule in action you must attend a match involving Scottish Champions Celtic playing in domestic football. Please note that in European matches, as they have officials appointed by football associations other than the SFA, the rule will not apply.

Observe what happens when a Celtic player scores a goal. Leigh Griffiths today opened the scoring when Celtic played lower league opposition at Hampden Park and seconds later received a yellow card for the specific offence of a player wearing green and white hoops putting his hands behind his ears. Instinctively, like footballers across the world, the scorer may leave the field to celebrate with his team’s supporters. Every week you see on television players with a variety of goal celebrations with the hands behind the ears version being regularly used. But for the SFA, with a huge stadium like Hampden Park with the supporters so far away from the field of play, it is particularly important that the ears above the hoops are not touched after scoring.

So the SFA are clear: if Celtic player indulges in any gratuitous celebrations with the paying customers the referee shall immediately produce a yellow card. The SFA are very proud to champion their exciting new Celtic Rule and would like to encourage other associations across Europe to urge their referees to adopt this rule should they have the chance to ensure that Celtic progress towards Warsaw is hindered in every way possible.

Next time we will examine the Lee McCulloch – Get Away with Murder Rule. The SFA call it the Masonic Blind Eye Rule…

  12. Professional performance won at a canter – glad its consigned to the dustbin of history (new testament). Broonie MOTM!

The shocking pitch was only surpassed by the inept MIB.

A final to look forward to between 2 sides that like to play football.

Hopefully the 2-0 score might send them home ‘chastened’ rather than their usual permaraging (I can only hope – for everyone’s safety).

    H!H!

    That wasn’t a dream – it was a nightmare.

Got to say I’m glad that’s over without injury to any of our players.

Loved Izzy’s interaction with fans after the game.

He really does get what it means to play for us….hope he’s here for a few years to come.

    Hope everyone gets home safe.

  14. Well that’s Daughter No1 in,

    dropped off by Aiden Bhoy,

did they leave at HT or something :-)

    Hail Hail

  15. the_huddle – ditto. Most of the singing I heard via BBC Scotland broadcast was coming from the blue end. Defiant, illegal, racist, bigoted and so on and so forth but a lot louder than our side. Maybe that is a true reflection of ours fans feelings – no big deal to beat Sevco.

  16. So that’s me and 15,000 other Glory Hunters satisfied.

I wonder what he 4,000 “real” Celtic supporters thought of the game.

  17. mullet and co 2 on

    Haven’t read back.

Scott Brown was imperious today. On a decent pitch we would take 5 or 6 of them. We played with a bit to spare very professional and more than matched their physicality. I thought you could see the difference in our training.

Biton played really well. A cool head.

    Lee McCulloch is a thug.

  18. God result against the new team., very very easy did they have a shot at goal. Though I had not seen the team before thei support is as ugly as the old clubs support. Man of the match for the zombies step forward Mitb Thompson outstanding for a spell the 2nd half it was a foul if when we crossed the half way line.

A few pints to celebrate as I am hoarse from shouting at that ref. how could elbows not be booked. He is so slow it is a joy to watch him an irrelevenance to the match apart from his fouls.

  19. Well bhoy’s & ghirl’s glad that’s over, see the Sevconians resorted to their usual bile when things didt go their way.

Never have I ever watched a Celtic vs r*ngers game and never knew the huns not to have one shot on target how shite are they I felt Celtic never got out of second gear wish we would have scored more though.

We really need to give Kris Commons what he wants now, after him scoring the goal that put the game beyond all contention.

Just hope all our fans get home safe.

  20. Just got a text message with a picture of my 9 day old grandson sleeping in a green, white and gold blanket with this caption

“Why does everyone get wound up about these games? That was so easy i fell asleep…”

  21. Praecepta, I’d take issue with the statement athe Ref was inept.

I think he controlled the game to minimise embarrassment.

How on earth Griffiths didn’t win a penalty was astounding.

  22. Easy street today , never got out of 2nd gear and after the goal there was only

going to be one winner .

Great displays by broonie , biton and denayer .

Scotlands newest club are really crap .

Wonder if anyone heard the banned chants from the huns end ?

wont hold my breath to see if any action will be taken by sfa , spl

    and focus .

Hope all celts at game get home safe and well

    Hail Hail………….

I could see a banner of sorts from a distance just before kick off, hopefully someone can confirm later.

You’re right re singing and they once again showed their lack of class, humour and humility.

    HH

  24. I agree doc the ref gave them a lot of fouls just to break up play. In the first half we had all the ball and they were awarded more fouls!,

  25. Watched Goals, celebrations and interviews , yon mc Dowell looks in a bad place clueless sprung to mind.

  26. Ronny is winning without wingers. He is winning with a solid midfield of Brown, Biton and Johansson.

His ‘philosophy’ was flawed, and hopefully he has learned. Commons and Griffiths getting starts. No sign of Mcgregor, Wakaso, Tonev, Berget, and only occassional sightings of Forrest. Long may this continue.

While I wasn’t particularly excited about today’s game, I hope that it gives the likes of Guidetti some encouragement to stay.

I am probably more concerned about this transfer window than any other before. We don’t have time in June to find players who can be counted on in July for CL qualification.

And….Broonie. A true Celtic captain. What a performance.

    Hope everyone gets home safe.

  27. Post of the day IMO

I get tired of those that think referees are biased. They generally do a good honest job. Take today for instance, the pullback when griffiths was clean through, the blatant elbow by elbows on griffiths, Wallace taking griffiths clean out in the box. The push and stamp on guidetti that got thems a free kick…..these are easy mistakes that anybody could make. Wish our support would stop being so paranoid

  28. Sorry we had to play this mob after Rangers Liquidation, Poor Game, Poor pitch, Poor referee. I would be happy never to play Sevco again.

They will not win championship and will need to win the play-offs to get to the Premier. They don’t look good enough.

With no money, no team, no youths, no scouting, they will soon have poor attendances.

I think Sevco may never reach the Premier,
