Caberfeigh (16:33), that wasn’t a pitch for wide players to excel on. Trying to control the ball close to the touchline was a nightmare, and it would have been like running on wet sand.

Ronny is winning without wingers. He is winning with a solid midfield of Brown, Biton and Johansson.
His ‘philosophy’ was flawed, and hopefully he has learned. Commons and Griffiths getting starts. No sign of Mcgregor, Wakaso, Tonev, Berget, and only occassional sightings of Forrest. Long may this continue.
While I wasn’t particularly excited about today’s game, I hope that it gives the likes of Guidetti some encouragement to stay.
——
What on earth are you talking about? Ronny’s ‘philosophy’ is playing his strongest team which he did today.
Commons has played more minutes than any forward player this season, if anything Ronny should be commended on the fact he doesn’t have favourites and plays who’s in form, ala Griffiths

Good professional performance from Celtic, the aim was to get into a cup final and to do this and restrict the opposition to no shots on target was a job well done.No matter how bad the referee was we took him out of the equation.
DERRY City’s Michael Duffy is set to join Celtic after the Scottish Premier League giants agreed an undisclosed fee with the Brandywell club today.
The 20 year-old Galliagh lad had two trials with the Hoops in recent weeks during which he impressed Celtic coaches by scoring twice in an Under-20 game against Newcastle United, who had first-choice goalkeeper Tim Krul in nets.
As reported earlier today by Bournesouprecipe:
Duffy, who netted 15 league goals for the Candy Stripes last season had also spent a week on trial with Championship side, Brentford who were understood to be keen on offering the Derry lad a deal.
The winger is understood to be currently discussing personal terms with the Scottish club.
His imminent departure means Derry boss, Peter Hutton will now be handed funds to pursue further transfers to strengthen his squad ahead of the 2015 campaign.

Johansen gets away with murder every game.
The fact that his mistakes are overlooked is purely down to his position high up the field.
However, Ronny is not for turning. 4-2-3-1 is the foreseeable.
Suck it up.

Well done Ronny and your backroom staff, congrats to the team for getting to the League cup final, Celtic must raise the state of this pitch and get the final moved to Murrayfield if possible, dont know how that will fit with the rugby internationals due to start, the very brief coverage of the game I saw the referreing was disgraceful saw mcculloch elbow Griffiths on the back of the head he must be done by the SFA, so much for Fleming being a new broom, cant comment on Sevco singing I’m sure it was the same as the old club therefore in many ways illegal, enjoy the win everyone.

So, glad we won, disappointed we didn’t destroy them. Thomson clearly briefed to stop that happen ending hence the free kicks to them which just broke up the play.
They are dreadful. Their only tactic was to launch the ball high and hope for the best. And this is the team Scottish football misses so much?
Final thought: the pitch. Heads should roll if that is the best they can do at Hampden. I’ve played on better public parks.

I know some people will have a go at me for this, but I never believed in the story that this isn’t Rangers we are playing. A football team is more than a financial entity, and unfortunately as the British flags and sectarian signing showed today, the idea of Rangers is still very much alive.
One thing though, anyone else feel like it didn’t feel like an old firm game? It was a strange feeling, I mean was this the first old firm game when one team didn’t even have a shot on target? Can anyone else tell me another firm game like it? I’m still in shock, that was the easiest game Celtic have played all season.

Easy victory. Great performances throughout the team, especially down the middle of the team. Sevco are atrocious, on and off the field. C. Thomson was terrible, and clearly attempting to minimize the on field damage. Proud of RD, the team and fans. On to the next one….

Wrong. Ronny came with John Barnes-like ideas. He has tried to play away in Scotland with 2 against 5 in midfield. He doesn’t do that now.
He has tried to win games with 2 wingers and one striker, leaving his front 2 FAR to far apart, resulting no link up play. He has now figured out that Commons within 10 yards of team mates is a big advantage.
He played away in Europe with 3 ‘pressers’ behind one striker, meaning FOUR players were taken out of the game with one pass.
He seems to be learning, and we should all be thankful.
