You’re right we are miles behind Bayern or Wolfsburg.
I don’t think Aiden or Naka would dent either of these teams though.

If my priority was watching brilliant football then I’d follow La Liga but the truth is, I’d rather watch Celtic play the likes of Ross County any day rather then watch El Classico.
Evening Timland from a hot and humid Hun free mountain valley.
Some good stuff today.
Never easy against a parked defense, good workout for Wednesday, surprised Collum never sent Craig off, at least the media can slaughter us as is their wont.
Still can’t log in from the computer, a total pain, and when the CQN tab is open the shockwave keeps crashing, doesn’t happen with any other program, hopefully it gets sorted soon.
Thanks for the response, one question…how many players currently at CP earn more than £10k a week basic? I think you will be surprised at how few.
Incidentally I think we are at leat two steps up from our Celtic cousins and more akin with the club set up in Belgium or Denmark , I believe they have fewer full time clubs though and lower wage scales.

Yep, some Celtic fans appear to no longer enjoy watching Celtic play/win they need a team to follow that plays the best football and beats the best teams.
Just home from the game, Dena, Yer celtic to the core, great meeting again, ps my bhoy was passing by when we met ….text… “whose the babe Yer cuddling”?

That’s my point, we currently pay far to many players above that £10k mark.
Belgium, Denmark and Holland teams will all pay players of a similar ability/quality to our current squad much less than we do, they do much more with less resources.
It’s like we are conditioned to pay a certain wage whereas a Dutch team can get away with paying half that for the same player.
They are keeping up their sleeves for when we meet a newco.

Then it’ll be thrown in our face…what about!

“keep 11 players on the pitch”
.
!!!!!! Have you had a premonition ?
.
Qarabag players were going down easier than a tart’s laundry at CP and we will need a strong ref who won’t be influenced by theatrics.
.
Their game plan was screwed when they conceded at CP. They know they need to score a goal, something they have only done once in their last 5 home Euro ties.
.
As they get more desperate (as I hope they do), just watch for auditions for “Grassy Knoll – the movie”. We have previous for red cards in Europe so cool heads needed (Broony).
You may be right on the wages, I beg to differ. Our recruitment strategy has been strictly low rent over tha last 2 years . I got a whisper about the offer made to one of our established player last season
BLUE MOON MOMENT. ,!!! Bendtner scores!!!!
It surprised me what was on offer. I cannot give any evidence but look at the fact we cannot compete with wages on offer at any English club. I know a lad at one of the Sheffield clubs who I heard had been offered £5k a week, brilliant money! However that included all bonuses, appearance and signing on fees. So he would have to play 40 games win most of them and stay there to trouser his dough?
I would guess our basic offer to the majority of the squad is south of £10k , but just a guess. By the way I have no problem with players earning good money on bonuses.
In case anyone thinks I am having a pop at our current team, I am not.
They are our current team and get my unconditional support, I would rather watch them against Dukla Pumpherston than watch Bayern v Barca on telly. Back in the day I played on mud heaps and ash pitches before I watched Celtic, why? Because I could and never ever wanted to stop playing.

According to the World Referee website Martin Strombergsson from Sweden will referee the return match next week in Baku.
Officially referees are not announced by UEFA until 2 days before fixture but obviously appointments are made well before then for travel reasons.
I take my hat off to Dena and all that travels from afar, btw, she did ask where the fat bloke was! :)

I’m purely guessing with wages side of things but looking at the last year accounts we spent £38mill on ‘labour costs’. Someone will I’m sure show me up for my lack of maths skills (nerds :O) but if we were paying 25 players £10k a week that is only £13mill a year. Or am I wrong on that?? :o)

Let’s play football the Celtic way and not this nonsense we are playing.

Sky Sports surrender La Liga rights to BT Sport after massive £11m overspend
,
. BT Sport look likely to snaffle the live rights to show La Liga
. Sky Sports’ Premier League overspend has left the door ajar
. BT have already monopolised the Champions and Europa League market
.
A further sign that Sky Sports massively overspent in paying £11million a match for their Premier League coverage is the fact they ceded the Spanish football contract to arch-rivals BT Sport without a fight.

jmccormick,
I was told by a dude in work, a flash guy that likes to be known as a flash guy, likes to be liked, all the patter etc.
He said that there wouldn’t be anyone on over 15K a week. For some strange reason I believe him.
The Bonus structure should be high, he never mentioned that, I think the latter day Jim McClean route isnae daft at all at awe.
Good to see Celtic paying some people over the living wage

I’d say at least the following are on more than £10k a week, though think there are probably more:
Brown

Gordon
Virgil
Forrest
Lustig
I’d like to think that the recent Dundee Utd crowd are under £10k considering what they must’ve been on at Utd

Bolton played Charlton in a pre season friendly last night. It ended 2 2.
A certain Tony Watt scored Charlton’s goals.
I wonder if Delaney’s was speaking to Marcus Fraser after the game to get his opinion on today’s game.
Marcus is one of Delaney’s nephews, I believe.
