Its going to be one of the strangest title parties when it does come. I think everyone will just want to end it.

  3. Burnley:

You’ve said something here I agree one. One single word, out of what you’ve written this afternoon, and I find that word both troubling and fascinating.

You used the word “consumers.” Precisely.

I remember Peter Mandelson once refer to Labour voters as “customers.”

    That turned out well, right?

It’s a corporate word. A boardroom word. But it’s not a cynical word. It’s very honest.

It views us as money in the bank, nothing more.

But it also gives us a choice. That other favourite corporate word, one Mandelson liked a lot.

When you strip the soul out of something people feel an affinity to and boil everything down to a retail decision it erodes that affinity. It takes time, but it does. FInally what you’re left with are “satisfied customers” and … errrrr … not much else.

That’s how they’ve treated Celtic fans for too sodding long. And now, reduced to the status of “customers” are you surprised some are voting with their wallets? Making their displeasure clear?

What happened to “the customer is always right”?

Where’s the strategy to retain our “business” and keep people coming back?

That’s the logic of your – their – position.

And we can see the results quite clearly.

Celebrate it. This is what you and the corporate soulless bastards have been shooting for all these years.

  4. BIG-CUP-WINNERS on

    Wits

THE media fully realise our fragile support is the Celtic’s Achilles heel. Hence the poisonous stories on the eve of big games.

They can get to Celtic through the crowd.

Not needed with this shower masquerading as Celtic, they have the support turned and hostile by their abject failure.

  5. I love pointing out the legends on the side of CP to my 8yr old son, I loved it the day I got him his ST, today we walked up the Celtic way when he asks ” where’s the new ticket office and museum and store and cafe?”

To put it bluntly in 2012 we had the chance to define our club as barca are to espanol, instead we are waiting on their return, as if to demonstrate how far we’ve sunk, inside CP today were framed advertising for a euro football magazine featuring a photo of gaza in his English shirt available from Amazon , the founding fathers would have wept

  6. Whoever wrote the headline for match report made my sour puss smile.

The Ronnie snore was a perfect title.

The media obviously have an anti Celtic bias reflective of the country we live in.

But even if they had a pro Celtic agenda they would struggle to polish the turd that Ronnie’s team have performed like.

The fans have seen the evidence produced by turgid blunt performances so can discern the reality themselves.

To suggest otherwise is condescending to other Celtic supporters.

  7. I see some of the whinging that started last week has continued. You wanted Ronny gone and they listened, still not satisfied? Now you want him gone before the seasons up, gie us a break.

We will have a new manager after the season, it’s up to the support to get Ronny and the boys over the line and no amount of whinging will help with that. Will you feel better if Ronny and the bhoys lose the league? Sometimes I wonder

As someone who supported our team home & away during the last years of the old board’s reign I can say with total confidence that the current team are not the worst even in my lifetime never mind ever. We’re not very good just now but we’ll win the league.

Good post mate, but my main concern is we won’t be able to ofload the players as easily as some think.

If it’s going to cost to get rid, it will be used for an excuse to not invest.

  12. Well said Auldheid.

“””””If we want to recover we need to start a moral fightback and it needs to start now by revealing the full extent of the cheating that has taken place.

No more silence on Res12 no more silence on LNS.

There is a clear link between both. There is an SFA needing reform.

There is no reason for silence any more.

    Their cheating is killing us.”””””

  13. Any player who puts on the Hoops and fails to give 100% should be booted out the door.

Ronnys time at Celtic was finished when Commons and Mulgrew treated him and us with distain.

I hope the first thing our new manager does is kick these two imposters out of our club.

  14. Big chips 5.44

I logged on here to pay respects to a certain someone who’s love and respect and passion for our great club gave me many weekends laughing – concurring – and oft times disagreeing with anything he said on here without saying a word! People who have watched the comments on here as long as I have without ever logging in will know who I mean. He was Celtic all over – he used to enjoy a drink and let fire at folks on here – even people he new and liked! Then he left this world at the same time as my dad – two Celtic fans who loved the club just like we do. However big chips your comments have left me cold. This IS the worst Celtic team in my lifetime – I am 47 and can remember Mick Galloway and Wayne Biggins playing for us – to think this great club does not need a rapid – huge and clever overhaul is beyond the realms of stupidity. A Celtic fan ready to accept anything no matter how rubbish it is. Argu8e all you want – this is NOT Celtic as I know and love it.

  15. Burnley78 I was there during all of those times.

My point isn’t just about on the field (God knows though that’s pretty bad) but as Auldheid says its off the field. This board have done nothing about the corruption. They have attacked the Celtic support time and again but leave the Huns and media to say what they like.

That’s what makes it different. That’s why everything is a bit surreal. These are death throes.

But the board are up to their necks in it and won’t change.

So it is the worst I have ever seen it.

I think being away at Swinecastle might be better for us,could be wrong though. We are totally uncomfortable at CP in games we’re expected to win.

  17. What is the Stars on

    Big cup winners

I accept the media can influence people’s views…of course they can. They tried and succeeded to a certain extent in poisoning people’s attitude to Fergus mccann. ..but they cannot influence the outcome of football games

  18. A spineless board who hardly ever, if at all, stick up for the support/ consumers.

Quick to call us out as racists at AGM but won’t defend us. OBA, LNS, etc.

The fans, in my opinion, aren’t spoiled, they know when they are being cheated and this has created a chasm in our club.

The board has gambled on Old Firm being back as bringing the support/ consumers back. Only time will tell. Ronny is out of his depth and the players look as if they think they are on holiday.

I think the banners were spot on today, particularly shrinking of jerseys, in my opinion if players didn’t like it they should have shown the supporters/ consumers that they were wrong. The performance they gave tells you the banners were correct.

BMCUW. Surely K.T. has to win every CFC player of the year award.

Didn’t see the match today but it appears to have followed the same disappointing pattern as a great many performances this season. I will be making another 1000 mile round trip with my boys for the Aberdeen match nonetheless. Takes up a whole weekend and is not cheap but still worth it to see any manifestation of the Hoops in my opinion. We are by no means at our lowest ebb playing-wise, not in the 50 years that I have been following the team but it is time for a change. I honestly believe that we have the basis of a decent squad and team provided they are organised properly. The next managerial appointment will define our prospects for the next 5-10 years. Whoever it turns out to be needs our immediate backing, and they will get it from me. HH

  23. kevinlasvegas on

Maybe Peter went in and went through the imposters, as RD never has. Not one player apart from KT and LG should be there for the new man, They have abandoned the manager months ago and have no self respect, can’t even be bothered trying for themselves never mind RD, Crap to turn up and do that, they get paid well. RD or PL aren’t the only problems.

Hang yer heads in shame Celtic. There’s a title to win and a new manager to impress but no still lifeless and clueless.

Comment from RD after the match.

“It’s the end of the season, a lot of people are getting tired but we have to stick together, work hard and have fun.”

  25. theglasgowcelticway on

As I’ve said we are shambolic at the moment but I too remember the early 90s when shambolic didn’t begin to describe us. In those days I would have bitten your hand off for a league cup win. We’ll win the league and hopefully the pressure on the board now will force their hand.

  26. My friends in Celtic,

Do you not think that Ronny, JC & JK will be absolutely gutted after that ” performance “.

On the pitch today the only people at fault were the highly paid charlatans masquerading as Celtic players.

  27. BMCUW.

Yes you are correct. It was unfair of me not to mention L.G too. He is worthy too.

I see the logic in that but these players have let us down time and again when it mattered.

I know who will give their all next week – Griffiths, Tierney, Sviatchenko, Roberts, Gordon and Rogic (although I now think he’s a better impact player than when he starts). The rest?

    I do not know.

  29. TBJ has no trust in the PLC on

Got to say the foxes have shown the way ahead for wee clubs like celtic

Delighted with their result and performance today but still worried Spurs might nick it

  30. Go tell the Spartim on

    Wits

We know the influence our support in full voice (a distant memory) can have in the team, so if the SMSM can influence the support and by God you can hear the SMSM pish coming out of the mouths at the game, then a malaise can set in. There will be very few current players (no laughing at the back) who enjoy playing at home in this climate .

We’re rank from top to bottom and that includes a large element of the home support. Just witness the ovation Commons got when he came on, he should’ve been bounced down Kerrydale street after his tantrum and his apparent approaches above RD, and some want him as player/coach, that’d be the biggest hypocrisy. He’s playing for a jersey, a cause and yet he spat the dummy

  31. Well bhoy’s and ghirls, that was tough today watching a very poor and disjointed team. No real sense of leadership on the park from SB no drive ambition from anybody really, I fear the lads have chucked it and just want RD gone along with the Collins & Kennedy.

An old work colleague of mine who is very friendly with SB’s family told me last year that him and RD where at loggerheads and that he had no time for RD, the way SB has conducted himself the past two seasons has not been upto the standard unlike our greatest captain Cesar. Would we have seen big Billy carry on like SB or any other member of our squad that played today I think not Big Jock would have sorted it, or the players would not have pulled on the jersey.

My point is this who the hell is controlling the players because as we can see as of today it is quite clear it is not RD, there is no man management there and there hasn’t been for quite some time.

I like RD as a person, a nicer guy you would probably never meet, I would like him to get to the end of the season but deep down,I think it is best if he just goes.

Who do we get NL? Knows how to get both players and fans motivated as he is one of us.

MoN would love to see him back, loved going to Celtic Park to watch in my view the best team of the modern age.

Or do we go different, as far as I am concerned we have tried different and it hasn’t worked.

Keep the faith bhoys and ghirls , as the song goes:

When you walk through a storm

    Hold your head up high

And don’t be afraid of the dark

At the end of the storm

    There’s a golden sky

And the sweet silver song of a lark

    Walk on through the wind

    Walk on through the rain

Though your dreams be tossed and blown

Walk on walk on with hope in your heart

    And you’ll never walk alone

    You’ll never walk alone

When you walk through a storm

    Hold your head up high

And don’t be afraid of the dark

At the end of the storm

    Is a golden sky

And the sweet silver song of the lark

    Walk on through the wind

    Walk on through the rain

It is a CQN requirement to “specialize in piles of crap”

Otherwise, who is gonna shovel the sh!t that comes outta your mouth?

  33. KT is only guy who should get player of year.

Griff has a big bearing on our league position but i still feel he is not always a team player.

He often takes poor shots when others are in better positions.

Would be curious to see his shots to goal ratio?

Perhaps partly due to frustration with the poor service.

But our best team player is Kieran by a country mile.

  34. A point closer to 5 in a row :-)

Who was it that said keep McGregor ? Did you see him today ? Roberts moved wide left to allow Commons in Middle and Mcgregor should be wide right

Where was MCGregor playing last 10 mins .? My goodness what a gap on ur RHS

And I’m not blaming McGregor for today, just pointing out the incompetence of our management team to sort our teams structure
