  1. Can I support the view that CKR had a good game today.

Slow start but played some good stuff linking with the MF — I know that is a difficult concept when it is made up of a football novice and two bags of sand — but he stuck at it and was unlucky not to score.

However he was very lucky not to be injured when he was on the receiving end of a really bad agricultural tackle in the second half. As is the norm now, the MIB saw and said nothing.

When are they going to do anything — when they see the X Ray’s?

  2. onenightinlisbon on

We have been taken for granted for decades by the suits. Time for some serious protest, the only way they will take notice. If we don’t then more of the same awaits.

  3. the long wait is over on

    A few random thoughts:-

    1. Awful again today. Must be the most predictable team in the known universe and , therefore, extremely easy to set up against effectively. Ronny’s downfall has been his intransigence and / or lack of imagination but the players themselves seem incapable of making adjustments on the pitch.

    2. Irrespective of whether you agree with what the banner said , failing to spell correctly the name of the main target of your complaint fatally undermines its credibility.

    3. Anyone have any idea what PL was doing or what he said in the dressing room at full time?

    Tlwio

  4. Go tell the Spartim on

If one was told that we were given permission to speak to an English premier player to be player / manager how would that sit with cqn’rs?

  5. My friends in Celtic,

No harm done with a misspelled banner.

However long long ago my mate went to Terry ‘s tattoo shop. He wanted a

Lynyrd Skynyrd tat. He didn’t know how to spell this and phoned his brother.

25 years later he can laugh about the Lenyrid Skynrid tattoo on his arm, although it must be said he wasn’t best pleased with his bro for a few years.

The moral remains true, to have the desired effect and maintain credibility, appropriate homework and research must be undertaken.

Does it matter he has already done the damage.

No comment yet on the two handed last man push on Roberts in the first half. Same foul Efe walked for in the LC semi.

    —–

    John Terry?

Player/Manager idea at Celtic is a non starter.

  9. FIELDOFDREAMS

Its not just attackers going for the same ball It happens all over the field.

Button constantly chased same ball as Brown.

Griff and Roberts ran into same are contracting space on numerous occasions .

Our defenders constantly ballwatch and attack same zone leaving guy coming in on back having free shot.

Have said all season one of our main issues is we are a purely reactive team.

Thats why we often have a few guys chasing same ball.

I’s a symptom of poor coaching and training ground failure.

  10. GO TELL THE SPARTIM on 24TH APRIL 2016 8:06 PM

Can you verify the rumours mate.

I’m being honest I’ve heard a few stories of disgruntled players, and players undermining the manager, but none of them included Commons.

    “Hamiltontimā€¦.

    Or Deluded ā€˜Village Idiotā€™..?

    YOU DECIDE..! “

    I’ve decided.

If it has to be this binary choice he is , of course, The Manchurian Candidate. Since the latter post has been filled in perpetuity by your good selves. And a well deserved unanimous accolade it was too. Ampleforth must be proud, very proud.

  12. Stair … @ 8.40

Those sorts of decisions are for high days and holidays only.

The MIB are currently rationing the honest mistakes — hoarding them up for next year.

It will be back to business as usual for the SFA / MIB Ludge.

  13. Go tell the Spartim on

I’ve no idea who the person mentioned, is like others I thought they were talking bout JT, I don’t think it’s a goer but it’s a persistent rumour.

    Personally I think it’s guff

  14. Peter went to dressing room to tell players to pay no attention to banners as the upstarts spelled his name wrong.

    It really upset him.

  15. Any thoughts on the crowd actually at the game?

    26 / 28 K is my thought.

Gaps everywhere including the main stand.

The day 20K turn up is now upon us.

  16. Go tell the Spartim on

    HT

I can’t claim to have been there at the times but heard it from different sources, none of it is cast in stone though

  17. I was looking at Lawwell when the banner went up, he was straight on the phone. One thing for sure, Desmond won’t be happy when he hears about it.

  18. MADMITCH on 24TH APRIL 2016 8:47 PM

Raith Rovers in the league cup this season was a low, can’t have been more than 10k there.

Any thoughts on the crowd actually at the game?

    26 / 28 K is my thought.

From main stand it looked about that. Atmospher non existent since green brigade were on silent protest.

  20. What is the take on the possibility of Robert Wagner Huddersfield Town or Gary Rowett Birmingham City for the managers job. Heard it mentioned on the Championship program on channel 5

  21. AN TEACH SOLAIS on 24TH APRIL 2016 7:55 PM

Any Celtic player, IMHO, should be capable of mastering the basic skills of accurate passing. certainly over short and medium distances), ball control, tackle properly, support team mates, create space by movement, be aware of opponentā€™s movements. But above all they should be giving 100% every minute of every game. And as professional athletes observing the norms of dietary control, proper sleep etc. Too much for some of our present lot?

    ================

……………. or even just some of the above !

  22. Spartim

its all pretty much immaterial now mate, he’ll probably be gone next season.

  23. The Donald

    Don’t thank me!

The vote was unanimous, overwhelming. So many CQNrs thought you deserved the post and that there was no competition worthy of your levels of sheer unrelated stupidity.

If I may borrow from Mark twain:-

“The Donald’s word-sense was singularly dull. When a person has a poor ear for music he will flat and sharp right along without knowing it. He keeps near the tune, but is not the tune. When a person has a poor ear for words, the result is a literary flatting and sharping; you perceive what he is intending to say, but you also perceive that he does not say it. This is The Donald. He was not a word-musician. His ear was satisfied with the approximate words. He uses “Verbal” for “oral”; “precision” for “facility”; “phenomena” for “marvels”; “necessary” for “predetermined”; “unsophisticated” for “primitive”; “preparation” for “expectancy”; “rebuked” for “subdued”; “dependent on” for “resulting from”; “fact” for “condition”; “fact” for “conjecture”; “precaution” for “caution”; “explain” for “determine”; “mortified” for “disappointed”; “meretricious” for “factitious”; “materially” for “considerably”; “decreasing” for “deepening”; “increasing” for “disappearing”; “embedded” for “inclosed”; “treacherous” for “hostile”; “stood” for “stooped”; “softened” for “replaced”; “rejoined” for “remarked”; “situation” for “condition”; “different” for “differing”; “insensible” for “unsentient”; “brevity” for “celerity”; “distrusted” for “suspicious”; “mental imbecility” for “imbecility”; “eyes” for “sight”; “counteracting” for “opposing”; “funeral obsequies” for “obsequies.”

There have been daring people in the world who claimed that The Donald could write English, but they are all dead now — all dead but Kojo. I don’t remember that Kojo makes the claim in so many words, still he makes it, for he says that The Donald’s prose is a “pure work of art.” Pure, in that connection, means faultless — faultless in all details — and language is a detail. If Kojo had only compared The Donald’s English with the English he writes himself — but it is plain that he didn’t; and so it is likely that he imagines until this day that The Donald’s is as clean and compact as his own. Now I feel sure, deep down in my heart, that The Donald wrote about the poorest English that exists in our language, and that the English of his last post is the very worst that even The Donald ever wrote.

I may be mistaken, but it does seem to me that The Donald’s prose is not a work of art in any sense; it does seem to me that it is destitute of every detail that goes to the making of a work of art; in truth, it seems to me that The Donald’s prose is just simply a literary delirium tremens.

A work of art? It has no invention; it has no order, system, sequence, or result; it has no lifelikeness, no thrill, no stir, no seeming of reality; its characters are confusedly drawn, and by their acts and words they prove that they are not the sort of people the author claims that they are; its humor is pathetic; its pathos is funny; its conversations are — oh! indescribable; its love-scenes odious; its English a crime against the language.

Counting these out, what is left is Art. I think we must all admit that.”

    Quonno,

It’s a fair point but doesn’t answer the question.

    Anyone know ?

RD says it was to speak to him but that’s not really credible, imho.
