There’s a massive disconnect between the Board and the fans and unless it’s remedied we will consume ourselves. The biggest source of anger in my opinion isn’t the piss poor team we seem to have cultivated as a matter of policy. It’s the perceived connivance with the Scottish football establishment to restore the Huns. A piss poor team helps with that, as we witnessed only last week. However, the real issue has been the hear no evil, see no evil blind eye to the institutionalised cheating that allowed the old Rangers to win those titles.

I listened to the ETims podcast from Friday night and one of their contributors confirmed he’d been in the Boardroom at Parkhead and the consensus there was that the ‘return’ of Sevco would solve all our problems. It’s that outlook that crystallises the disconnect between the leadership of the club and it’s fan base. It’s toxic and it won’t sort itself. The club needs to wake up to the danger of division, 5-in-a-row or not.

  2. The Green Man says SACK THE Board on

This can only end one way.

Peter Lawell….time to be a man, and do the decent thing.

That is the worst Celtic team ive ever seen.

That performance today was farcical…..like a friendly ffs.

If we play like that at Tynecastle…we will get mauled.

    Atrocious.

Comment from RD after the match.

“It’s the end of the season, a lot of people are getting tired but we have to stick together, work hard and have fun.”

    ——–

Is he talking about the fans?

  4. BABASONICOS71 on

Infighting between fellow Celtic folk saddens me more than any duff result or performance.Divided we fall etc. etc.

    Three little birds…

  5. onenightinlisbon on

If Ronny actually said that players were getting tired as it’s the end of the season he surely cannot be serious.

Five in a row is the target, surely that in itself should be enough. The only people getting tired are the supporters.

  6. Oh, and let’s discuss how our fans are performing

Well done to Cosy Corner Bhoy, ( or as I know him Pat with the hat :-)) for stepping and preventing a major fracas up in 106 today, as fans frustration in our team was boiling over

Quick question, why no noise from the Green Brigade today ?

And has roofed to their Tifgo at half time – brilliant Bhoys

    Hail Hail

  7. Auldhied, I don’t think it’s their cheating that is killing us.

I think it is our clubs inaction and silence when faced with all the evidence of their cheating that is killing us.

They could cheat as they did, but if the club had spoken out and faced them down we would have united behind them.

    They are craven.

There have been plenty of opportunities to do so.

Now they have no choice, either back Res.12, stand up for our club indeed the game in this country, or play to empty stands while the cheats prosper.

    THETIMREAPER

Most of the fans there today had to work hard to pay for their ticket. And would probably have had more fun elsewhere.

  10. Go tell the Spartim on

    Cowiebhoy,

My friend asked me before the game, he couldn’t go due to work commitments if the GB were silent so maybe that was intentional.

  11. Stairheedrammy on

RCs attacks mainly came through our left where KT was struggling to cope with their wingert. No tactical changes made to support him even though this was obvious

  12. Cowiebhoy

Tactical thinking and implementation are sadly missing.

Kept thinking today that with Roberts seemingly only willing to inside that we should have put him centre right and force them to overload central area then tell centre mids to be aware right side was open and switch play.

We never seemed t adapt in anyway to onfield happenings.

Maybe the idea of Roberts left and McG right was about stretching them wider but again poor implementation scuppered any chance of success.

  13. Incredible that some are blaming supporters for our current predicament.

Let’s get this straight. Most of those in hoops today were an absolute disgrace to the Celtic jersey.

I suspect that Commons received such a positive performance because most Tims recognise:-

    1) his ability

    2) the passion he’s shown.

can we win the league by the time we play aberdeen? – me and little jackie mac are going to go up again one more time – aberdeen would be great – his forst game was when jan v of hesselink scored in the last minute – place went mad, bhoys on the darlington bus loved him – thought he was a lucky mascot – good bus to go up on the darlo bus

    mon the hoops

    5iar fuppin yes

  16. There was a point today during the second half when the fans started getting on Roberts back because he was a driving inside all of the time. I was utterly dismayed. A 19 year on loanee learning his trade, trying to drag a bunch of duds over the line and he get’s that.

  17. FAN-A-TIC

When Commons came in, he obviously had instructions, and told both Roberts and McGregor, pointing out to them where to go

My frustration with McGregor, he has no discipline in adhering to this, and the management do my seem to control his wandering

For the last 10 mins he was wider left than Roberts, forcing Commons to move out right, and creating a huge gap through our middle

Now I can see this gpfrom the stands

Why can our management team not, and fix ?

Sorry they need to go with Immediate effect

  18. Cowiebhoy

You have no argument from me regarding coaches.

I think they should get interim in tomorrow to see us over line.

  19. Go tell the Spartim on

    HT

If that’s addressed to me then you’re very much misguided..

Let’s address the points you made. Us supporters can have a positive effect, no? Ergo we can also have a negative effect

Commons ability, yeah he has some how often has he shown it this year, watch the last Kilmarnock game

His passion, his passion for what, himself.

Stronger manager would have punted him for his alleged actions, too little to late

  20. Aberdeen game is at Celtic Park. If we beat Hertz we effectively win League or if we equal Aberdeen’s result at home to Motherwell the following day.

I tend to agree we are better off playing at Swinecastle, the away fans will roar on the team and the overall atmosphere should be red hot.

If the players are tired or disillusioned surely it’s time to give some game time to Christie or Allan, they would surely be looking to make an impression.

  21. There has been a fair bit of speculation and talk that some of the players are not playing for the coaching team.

I have personally thought this for some time and have posted the same a while back, I was on te Ronny bus at the time.

maybes if the players had been giving their all I might still be on the Ronny bus and we wouldn’t be going through the pish we are, who knows.

Point is, what happens if the players don’t like the next coach and his ideas ?

You are paid a fortune Pedro, it’s your job to sort this, either yourself or to whom you delegate, but sort it.

  22. Good article at the bottom of this page.

” Ronny talks the talk but fails to weed out imposters”

Absolutely agree and Well worth a read.

  23. An abysmal performance today. Can’t blame fans for getting on the player’s backs, they are supposed to be top footballers but can’t even perform at the level of any competent journeyman. And to add insult to injury we had Lubo on pitch today and with our 40odd midfielders we can’t even control midfield, he must have been bewildered watching that, just like the rest of us.

  24. TBJ has no trust in the PLC on

I think we will get a draw against hearts and aberdeen will draw against motherwell.

9 points clear with a million goals better gd .

Aberdeen will beat us at celtic park … we will draw with St johnstone and lose against motherwell

We will win the league by 3 points

  25. GO TELL THE SPARTIM on 24TH APRIL 2016 7:24 PM

It was a general comment not aimed at you specifically.

At Kilmarnock, I couldn’t believe that Ronny took off Commons and left on CKR and most supporters around us thought the same.

Can I ask what his alleged actions are?

  26. James Forrest

I will refrain from personal insult or indeed assumptions as to your personal status. You call me corporate which I find amusing however.

I will say I do get your point about the word consumer and the attitude.

    I completely get your point.

Ever since HL and MON days Celtic has had to be very good at getting every penny it can from its fans. La k of TVs revenue etc

It is no surprise really that they behave as consumers with expectations of guaranteed gratification as such.

That is part of the problem we have.

  27. Jinky will ye stop with ol’ rubbish, we will beat Hertz next week and that will effectively be that.

  28. PeterLatchfordsBelly on

Saw Ronny’s interview on the BBC website. We’re really prolonging the agony for this guy. He looks haunted. Get the job done next week Celtic and let the poor guy go after that. Great person, bad Celtic manager.

    *******************************************

Therein lies the biggest imponderable we have.

There is a chance, and a reasonable one at that, that where the players are positioning and moving is ‘exactly’ as they have been directed and trained for all week/season.

They then get pilloried by the support who can as you say “see what’s happening”, but at half and full time they get congratulated for sticking to the plan.

That managerial adherence to the grand plan fails when the players are unsuited to the role, irrespective of whether the ‘plan’ has any substance to start with.

Consequentially the players and team appear disjointed, apathetic and uninterested.

Of course they could actually be shite as well, in which case we have issues that will take much more resolution than just a change in manager and tactics.

But with all the perceptions of incompetence from whichever direction, we are about to collect 5 in a row.

    A glow from 5 in a row!

And then imagine next year….with just a small leap in performance and managerial nous! Six in a row, then seven…… :) :)

    That’ll do me.

I’ve no evidence to back up my belief that we are heading for a few glory years….but who needs evidence when I have imagination and a beautiful singing voice?

    Hail Hail

    Matt

  30. Let’s accentuate the positive.

If Celtic play like this next season it’s going to be a very competitive league.

    Maybe that’s the plan.

Bitton got a jersey, very quickly after recovering from that hamstring injury he got last week. How does that work, why would a manager select a player who has shown him, he does not want to play ?
