So Charlie’s back. Did he ever really go away? I suspect not. Sevco Scotland/The Rangers FC/Rangers International is Charles Green’s project. He was the guy who picked the pieces up from the Rangers liquidator.
He was the guy, through liberal use of words like ‘bigotry’, ‘No surrender’ and ‘Dallas Cowboys’ managed to convince thousands of people to buy into a version of reality which convinced them to spend money.
He cut a deal with the compliant Ally McCoist to shift tickets in 2012, then did the same with Walter Smith in 2013, and co-opted a variety of flunkies to the cause along the way. The £22m raised at an IPO was down to him. No one else would have been able to achieve the latter feat, and he is needed again.
The move only appears audacious to those who have not been paying attention. When Green bought Rangers assets two years ago, the game was up. Those assets would be bled green, white and gold in order to provide as large a return on investment as possible. Nothing has changed.
What is needed at Ibrox right now is someone to pitch up saying, “Bigotry, No surrender, forget what I said earlier, it’s the same club, now buy your ticket, you tell them Ally/Walter/whoever next”. Charlie is perfect for this job.
The reality that existed pre-2012 is gone. That club’s assets were bought from a liquidator and are now masquerading around the lower leagues of Scottish football. Those who stepped forward, paid their money, and in doing so, actually gave thousands of people a club to support, are in charge – as is their right.
This is not a good thing if you have an affinity with that club, but it’s better than having Ibrox “razed to the ground” (remember Bomber Brown’s warning), so no matter what fans think of Charles Green, it’s time to accept his reality: Rangers were liquidated, fans were not organised, wealthy fans declined to step forward, the assets were bought by people who WILL make a financial return and Charles Green is one of the few people with an idea of how to deliver this.

Yes, that’s put the World Cup back on track after Iran v Nigeria bucked the trend. Ghana looked a better team than Nigeria.
Looking forward to Brazil v Mexico later today. The Me-hee-canos have won 2 of the last 3 fixtures between them, one victory being in Brazil too.
It’ll be interesting to see what improvement,if any, the Brazilians can make after playing their first competitive match in 3 years the other night.
Beatbhoy,
If the refereeing is anything to go by after their first game, Brazil are home and hosed.
Goodnight to all Tims worldwide.TAL.
Goodnight to you too, TCR, and hopefully they won’t need help from the referee!
Here`s one for you,East Coast Tom.

I’ve never known there not be an obsession around one player,” Neville told BBC Radio 5 live.
“It was Gascoigne from 1996 to 1998, Beckham from 2000 to 2006. From 2006, it was Rooney and Beckham.
Now it’s Rooney to 2014.
“Unfortunately – or fortunately, because he is a big player – this time it’s Wayne Rooney.”

Havent been on here in ages! having a good catch up on everything! Was thinking to myself after watching a few of the games from the world cup and Greece in particular followed by some comments in papers etc from Sammy, would Celtic ever resign him? if he doesn’t find a suitable club. As although an offer didn’t come and it appears to be down to wages would they resign him?!
Missed second half usa game last night. Well done to the yanks….

Re Neil’s comments..
What if Neil has an axe to grind
What if Neil asked for a certain clause in his contract
What if SSM told him to sling his hook, immediately
What if Neil is now pi&&ed off
Perhaps he’s decided to pull no punches

Morning all. Glorious down here once again. Could get well used to this.
Am never going to get well used to the shenanigans down in Govan. Could never get enough of them tearing themselves apart.
Hamiltontim Any turns on Celtic_First side for better and oasis of serenity ?

Just watched a very unlucky Ghana robbed by a limited but determined US.
Good to see I wasnt the only one pi88ed off by Savages endless negative comments about a skillful attacking and unlucky Ghana. Both commentators were blatently supporting usa.
Neil Lennon actually gave high praise to both Samaras and Efe before each game.
Efe is a CB and not a winger so cant be expected to be a perfect crosser.

He’s been on Twitter a bit but sadly no sign of him making a come back on here.
Thank you, Hamiltontim. The place was better with him. I hope life will treat him well. Please pass my all the best to him, HT.

Have asked here a number of times without success.
Just exactly who was it put Chuckles up to using words like ‘bigotry’ ‘No Surrender’ and ‘Dallas Cowboys’?
