  1. Incredibly weird that Celtic supporters feel the need to reference another irrelevant Club when it comes to player transfers. No wonder we struggle to move out of the shadow that is Scottish football.

  2. prestonpans bhoys on

Well if theBBC are to believe and Tierney off the Pedro will need to fund Lenny properly, over to you Celtic

  3. Great result.

I thought we could have got another if we were not being as cautious as we were, but caution is understandable.

We will win the return leg at paradise 3-1.

If KT is away good luck to the bhoy.

But Arsenal ffs. What a boring shitey club, with no chance of ever winning anything.

    Make loads a money bhoy

    D. :)

  4. Let’s hope if KT’s transfer goes through ok, the money is reinvested wisely.

I assume we have candidates lined up already as the transfer deadline is next Thursday 15 August 2019 11pm for all matches in the play-offs; plus the “2 the night before first leg of play-off round” caveat.

Good luck KT – I think we’ll see you back again

  5. On the positive side KT might flatter to deceive at Arsenal after 3 years or so and end up at Aberdeen.

We can then sign him back for a couple of hundred grand for a second stint.

    LAZYDYNAMITE

    ‘Hopes/expects to?’…………..’some of’?

PL has said he expects us to come out of each window stronger. Replacing KT with Boli weakens us ,so enough of the money will have to be used. No brinkmanship please Peter , waiting to see if we get past Cluj and Slavia would be foolish

  7. James Forrest can really shine in some games, yet rarely perform in others.

It is this inconsistency that is actually working in our favour.

If he could produce magic week in week out he would have been sought by mega money teams before now.

It is that simple, long may he remain underrated.

    Great European away result tonight.

    HH to all.

  8. commented last week that i hoped we hadn’t bought 2 pigs in a poke with Jullien and boli boli and was shot down in flames for offering my opinion.

said prior to tonights game that LM cannot play on the left wing and i stand by my opinion , tonight we had no left side whatsoever , boli boli is never a left back , he can’t tackle, plays as if the ball is a hot potato, runs about looking busy but does nothing to benefit the team, whoever scouted or recommended this guy should have his bags packed and shown the door.

  9. BGFC here – just chatting with the wee man.

We are both pondering – if it is true that he’s decided to forgo the (well-paid) honour of ‘living the dream’ and playing for Celtic – what’s the difference between Tierney leaving his ‘beloved’ Celtic for the millions on offer in the EPL and BR leaving his ‘beloved’ Celtic for the millions on offer in the EPL ?

Sorry, but other than a few months of a timing difference, I don’t see it. Just another person who felt he had a better offer.

Not wishing him any ill-will, but if he ends up at Arsenal then he’ll just be an Arsenal player. A very well compensated EPL footballer the same as many others.

However – on to the current Celtic Team – of concern is the performance of the current first choice RB – Boli Bolingoli had a bit of a nightmare and I agree with David17, on that performance it is concerning. However, he’s only just arrived, having played at a good level previously, so hopefully he will settle in.

Still need another LB it appears, another RB, probably a CB, a strong midfielder to spell Broonie and probably a CF. I hope we keep Ncham – he is quality when his attitude is right, which hopefully Neil can sort out.

Happy with the scoreline, but still on a knife-edge for the home game.

    BGFC

  10. SKY sources ? Say KT away to Arse map. If so good luck young man and you’ll welcome back to Paradise. Happy with tonight’s result. Bolo needs to reined in and informed that we don’t need our left back joining attack everytime. Settle down sir.

Thought our new non- right back had a good game and looking forward to next week.

Exactly how do we “move out of the shadow of Scottish Football”?

I live in the real world mate.

I actually love Scottish Football for all its faults and I love the last 8 years of rubbing it in to our neighbours from Ibrox..

They are always a context I will measure us against.

  12. Good luck, Kieran. Show them what you can do son. I wish you all the best of luck and hope to see you in a Celtic jersey again some day. True Celts know that you’re a true Celt.

  13. mmm…it better be £25 Million up front..and Rico Henry…he looks find going forward

  14. glendalystonsils on

I know we played a much better team than St Johnstone tonight ,but compared to Saturday’s tour de force I think we played with a bit of the old ‘Euro fear’ .

Lenny is the man to knock that out of them though.

  15. Go tell the Spartim on

I’m with you BGFC he’ll just be an arsenal player though I doubt he’ll end up as bad as Nicholas turned out. We’ve been expecting it all close season and tbh tonight’s result was way more important.

I’m sure we’re not done in the transfer market hopefully we’ll have more options should we progress to the play off round including young Rico

  16. !!BADA BING!! on 7TH AUGUST 2019 9:15 PM

    I’ve just acquired a new English team……

  17. i'vehadtochangemymind on

    Proud a de bhoys tonight!

Don’t know if it’s just me , but it feels different to BR already. Cluj wudda taut dey haddit sown up with that jammy bassa break away!

    Up to us now!

  18. whitedoghunch on

KT has good friends around him

    that know London & money

Not the ones the press write about

    He will shine

  19. The only question for KT is timing, another 2 years and hewould be evenmore of a legend.Treble treble under his belt. Its hard to see whatelsehe cando

However..Life changing money for generations of Tierney’s,

He goes with my blessing and the joy of actually watching an Arsenal game now

  20. KT, by all accounts,is a Celtic supporter. In spite of that, he is leaving Celtic to go to the superior EPL.I am completely at ease with that. It is only natural for players to want to play at the highest level possible. Does it not follow, therefore, that there is a good chance that players will only come to us if we are seen as a step up? Does that not suggest that finding players better than we already have WHO ARE WILLING TO COME HERE is no easy task?

Taking these kind of matters into consideration, I am happy with the squad we have and will remain so as long as we don`t lose the likes of Calmac or Big Kris this window.

    Roll on 5pm tomorrow.

    JJ

  21. A score draw away from home with the Romanian champs – Thanks Bhoys, Cheers Neil

as for their talkative boss?- Well, that was just desperate Dan………

    HH.

  22. Caveat – IF the KT deal goes through….

From an earnings (“set up for life”) viewpoint I can understand the argument of players wanting to play in the English Premier League.

From an honours point of view, imagine being aged just 22 and knowing that you’ve probably already won most of the medals you are ever going to (8 domestic medals I think).

Do I wish him luck? As with almost all former Celic employees then yes, of course I do.

Do I hope Arsenal become successful – not in the slightest bit interested, sorry.

    Right, bring on the Motherwell….

  23. “NOTTHEBUS on 7TH AUGUST 2019 9:39 PM

Boli not as bad as made out, raw certainly but a player..no doubt”

That`s how I see it, Seems to me opinions don`t have a middle ground.

    JJ

  24. “Jimmy McGrory of Arsenal would never have sounded as good as Jimmy McGrory of Celtic,”

  25. Jobo

I’m with you, absolutely no interest in the EPL

Motherwell Sat, then Cluj next week more important

  26. Jobo

Do you think players are realy interested in medals?

I would have thought that playing at the best level possible was more of an achievement.

A bit like 55 titles reflecting greater success than three or four CL winners` medals !
